After a couple of years of having an SFF gaming build, I decided that I want to go back to ATX. This build is a combination of reusing parts from the past along with black friday buys. I play Overwatch, Counter Strike 2, Valheim, Elden Ring, and lately have been playing all of the Kingdom Hearts game at 4k. The 3070 works well at 4k for me. On less demanding games I can fully saturate my 160hz 4k monitor, and at more intensive games I can reach 80fps with some graphics tweaks. I plan to upgrade to the 5800x3d, and in the future plan to upgrade to the next gen gpu's, but my 3070 has been treating me great so far so not really pressured to upgrade my gpu yet.$1,194.96 -

Works exactly as I'd hoped, reaching about 120fps average @ 1440p max settings with Baldurs Gate 3, 144+ on Red Dead 2. Has a bit of GPU sag, just put a small gum pot underneath to fix it. Not much trouble putting it together, although the front panel USB 3 cable had some trouble getting into the port on the motherboard due to the geometry of the case - managed to get it in with a little force though. 6950XT does just about fit in this case, the 1mm clearance had me worried but it ended up being closer to 1cm with the stock fans$1,552.58 -

The gigabyte b650 Aero G motherboard would have went better with this build, but it had bad coil whine so I returned it and got this MSI. Everything else went to plan, and the PC looks magnificent in the end. Very happy with it overall. Performance wise, I just tested Starfield, and I am getting around 80 fps in 4K with mostly high settings. Good enough for me.$1,747.92 -

Saw the Fractal Torrent and knew I had to build something with it. I think it came out very nice! I definitely need to get some white PSU cables to match the aesthetic overall. In hindsight, I should have maybe went for the standard Noctua heatsink, as the chrome fins would have matched the chrome from the PowerColor 7900XTX. Still very pleased!$2,029.93 -

It's a gaming rig aimed at 4k 60fps in modern titles, as well as powerful enough (cpu) for emulators. Since I share the room with someone else, I used all noctua fans (excluding the gpu) to minimize noise. Never before having the financial means to do so, I had secured my first consistent, steady job (which is a long story and a long time coming itself). I finally could build my own PC! After years of using hand-me-downs and friends' old pre-builts, which eventually always grinded and slowed to a crawl, using a PC with a powerful processor and a slick NVME SSD is just an entirely different experience. I had been conditioned to expect launching games to take on the scale of minutes. It's funny how it takes a while to deprogram the expectation that launching a game is a long time commitment! And something about games not micro-stuttering or freezing for split moments at a time... something about that feels so smooth and flow-y. Probably the fact that the games' frames are simply just smooth and flow! Shoutout to my good friend Stefanos, who, when I messaged him about wanting to build my own PC, helped me pick out all the parts online and took me to Micro Center the weekend right after to pick *everything* up. I thought the whole process would take months! I took all my parts home, and props to his endless hit points as I bombarded him with questions during assembly. I thought I was about to break my computer in half during nearly every step.$1,814.93 -
