My initial motivation for building this PC two years ago was the anticipated release of Microsoft Flight Simulator. I had been playing other simulators for many years before then and wanted an upgrade for the new intense game. I've been wanting an upgrade from my Dell Optiplex retrofitted with a GTX 1050 Ti for a while, but this pushed me to actually go ahead and do it. I still play Microsoft Flight Simulator to this day, but most of my time on this machine has shifted to software engineering and, incidentally, developing addons for the simulator. I am a computer science student and use this computer to compile Rust libraries, run simulations in Python, and develop websites. A year after getting this computer, I replaced the stock heat sink on my RTX 2080 Super with an NZXT Kraken, and it was totally worth it as I haven't had any problems with thermals since then and the computer is pretty darn quiet. The only upgrade that I see myself making in the foreseeable future is a kit of custom white cables along with a modular PSU to replace the horrendous ketchup and mustard powering the rig.$1,732.91 -

I mainly play FPS games, but it also runs assassins creed perfectly. Not a bad build at all, I upgraded the CPU cooler to an AIO from corsair (icue H150i). I wanted to try PC gaming since all I would hear from people was that it was a way better experience. Thus after watching multiple youtubers such as Jayztwocents and TechSource I was inspired to build my first ever PC. It has evolved now since I'm hooked with building so now I find any excuse to get my hands on my pc. Here are some pictures of the updated state of my entire set up since I have tried hard to not just have a good looking pc but also a good looking setup. I used by two favorite colors for lighting purple and red. I love star wars and one of my favorites was the red sith troopers from the last installment. The rest of the game room has some starwars stuff such as the white boba fett helmet, the lightsaber, and the R2D2 popcorn maker! Thus the theme for the pc/setup build. I'm currently rocking a ryzen 7 3800x and Powercolor Red dragon 5600xt. My hopes are to upgrade the gpu and keyboard next. If you have any keyboard recommendations let me know!$1,409.90 -

Over the years I have replaced video cards, RAM, hard drives individually but I've never built the whole computer from start to finish. The last time I purchased or even upgraded a computer was at least 8 years ago. A lot changed but many of the basics still remain true. Before buying all of the parts I began watching videos on youtube to research, parts, trends and favored brands. I watched guys like JaysTwoCents to ground myself in the do's and don'ts of building as well as what to do once the computer is built. For three months watched video after video and then began planning my purchase. I've always been a fan of AMD. Even when their trustworthiness wasn't as quantifiable as it is now I would buy their products and never regretted it. My AMD focused build has been great and I'm excited to show off my first full build. I wanted a build which would take my gaming experience up a notch or two while providing an better overall pc experience during general usage. I'm very happy with its performance and built it with the ability to upgrade this build in the future rather than rebuilding from the ground up. I could upgrade the CPU, GPU or even dabble in some lite water cooling. Currently I play a lot of Pathfinder:Kingmaker and Stellaris when I'm in a Grand Strategy mood. In hindsight, I am something of a minimalist, I didn't feel the need for lots of RGB (can get a bit gaudy) but after seeing my GPU light up along with the lighting on my motherboard... I might have considered playing with the lighting a bit more. Or gone for more more power in the GPU with the 5700XT. Did you hear that? Sounded like Tim Allen growling in far off distance. lol$1,307.23 -

This build has kinda taken on a life of its own and I am nowhere near done with it. At first I was going to get an AIO and then decided to go the custom loop route, I will be adding another radiator and liquid cooled GPU when the new Nvidia cards launch. I will also be working on some mods for the case as well for the first time, cutting a acrylic panel and using it for pass through fittings to run water lines behind the case and for a cleaner look as well.$4,605.44 -

Ever since then i have played every single console that has come out to this date. But one in particular that i wasn't able to obtain was a PC powerful enough to handle major games. This year was finally the year. I decide go hard, or go home and bought only quality pieces. I wanted a Pc that could handle games that are to come out for the next 10 years. I don't want to have to spend another dollar on a console that is not at peek performance, because they want to be able to up sale me in the future. I built Ernie because my old PC could not handle everything I wanted to do. I know, sounds pretty generic. This was a huge build for me. I have lived my whole life using low end, or very old hand-me-down parts. I had built a brand new PC before but it was entry-level at best, and I was not smart and favored looks over performance. I learned my lesson and buckled down and saved every penny one summer. I was going to spare no expense. RGB and looks were low on the list, but still very important. I was going for a Storm Trooper theme PC, and I think that turned out. I wanted the maximum performance possible, fast storage, and lots of it. The latest graphics and features and the RTX 2080 Super from EVGA fit the bill nicely. I wanted the CPU to have at least 8 Cores, so it would excel at recording and streaming. I was originally looking for the PC O-11 Dynamic, but it required fans and water cooling looks sick in that case, but I don't plan to do a custom loop, anytime soon. The Fractal Design Meshify C, it has good thermals and even better looks. It is pretty small for an ATX chassis. The biggest reason I built Ernie, was so I could start doing Youtube, and Streaming. My old PC could not handle gaming and recording at the same time, and struggled to run most games at 1440p/60FPS. I am looking to upgrade my monitor to an LG UltraGear IPS 144hz QHD Monitor. I also am looking to upgrade the AMD Stock Cooler to a Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, because the stock cooler is super loud. I need to add more fans to further improve thermals, I am looking at some Corsair HD120's those look nice and perform well. If you read this far, Thank You, and maybe subscribe to my new YT Channel, QuackoOperator, I have already posted a video about this PC and I hope to continue to grow the channel and make some gaming content in the future. I want to make a series on F1 2020, maybe some Nascar Heat 5, and other racing games and shooter games such as COD: MW/Warzone.$1,807.91 -

I bought all of the parts in the Westmost Microcenter. I built the PC mainly for gaming, and day to day use. Some examples of games I play are CS:GO, City Skylines, Warzone, and GTA. I feel like gaming really gives you a chance to connect with people who have the same hobbies and interests as you. Some upgrades I plan on doing in the future are some custom cables to go with my color scheme (Ones in my case right now were taken from another build), Vertical GPU Bracket, and probably upgrading components as they get outdated.$1,886.91
