They have a shared desk space, and a limited area. I also love small form factor, and doing new things in the space. So I used my favorite PC case (FormD T1) and put not one, but two fuly functional PCs in it. One is a Ryzen APU PC, and the other is a low TDP intel CPU paired with an Nvidia GPU (I covered the big three chip makers in one box!). Single slot GPU was essential, so a professional card was about the only option. (1070 Katana's are incredibly rare).$1,611.94 -

Replaced my Dell Latitude E7470 that got at most about 12fps playing GTA Online and Divinity 2. It was not too difficult at all, despite being a small form factor. I do not expect to upgrade it or rebuild for many years to come, except maybe to add custom cabling. (but the stock power cables are working fine)$1,151.89 -

First, I was in the process of shopping for expanded storage for my current-gen xbox console. This was really frustrating because the proprietary format expansion cards the console must use are really expensive, especially compared to how prices have really fallen for pc storage devices (both sata and m.2 pci-e drives). The second instance that really sparked this build was seeing a RTX 3060 Ti graphics card at a really good price at Microcenter. With those two factors combined, I was ready to drop by plans of buying expensive console storage and just make my own DIY console.$1,129.91 -

The reason I built this computer is because I wanted my brother needed one, and I wanted to make sure the components were as efficient as possible in order for the computer to last multiple years without upgrades. I used a B660m max mortar with a 12400 to BCLK overclock the cpu to a stable, but way better cpu. The 4070 is one of the best value buys for the 40 series, and should last a long time. Lastly, the ram is CL18 3600mhz; kinda slow, but it’ll get the job done. The game he mostly plays is League of Legends, which this build is way overkill for, but if he decides he wants to play more intense games, this build be able to handle anything at 1440p.$1,320.83 -

This build has been a work in progress for well over 2 years ever since my 'gaming' laptop died, but this project remained on the backburner for quite some time as prices on GPU's were hard to justify for a long time. In the meantime I replaced my laptop with a Macbook but the screen on that is rather small and gaming isn't really an option. So here we are, the PC build with a modern GPU faster than 2080 Super with all the bells and whistles. The older titles I play run exceptionally at 4K Max and even Cyberpunk is playable thanks to DLSS. I feel like I can accomplish anything with this PC, whether its business related AutoCad work to using it as a network-wide home NAS server. I went with the Lian Li case not only b/c it's become iconic on the internet, but also b/c it's spacious having room for a secondary power supply as Der Bauer described it. This means I can easily upgrade anything down the road as I plan on keeping the case for a long time. I should have waited for the newer 40 series cards as they're probably a better value, but frankly I doubt I'd notice the difference.$1,351.94
