I use it mainly for school work and some occasional gaming (Valorant, Minecraft, the likes). I feel like overall I did a good job, as I did a lot of price hunting and got my GPU eBay, the rest from Microcenter with their insane deals. One thing I would have changed if I knew about this earlier was to get a better motherboard - the B450M is good but I ran into a lot of problems for some reason, maybe it was me? This build cost me around $450 - yes, you may have seen the price above, but it did cost me around $450 because of some coupons I used, the GPU came from eBay, and lots of deals Microcenter had at the time I made this a month back. Whatever the case, overall I loved this project.$635.93 -

Home built rig from 2017, using a NZXT H510 it contains a Ryzen 5 5600G (originally a Ryzen 5 2600). An Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 16GB (originally a 1060 3gb, then a 2060). 24 GB of DDR4 Memory. Samsung 250gb 2.5 inch boot SSD, and 3 assorted capacity used hard drives for bulk game storage. Wonky cable management, and janky RGB strips and a homemade dongle.$1,783.91 -

I originally built this rig purely for gaming but over the years that I've had, I've been doing more with it such as school work and video editing. I edit using Davinci Resolve 17 and I'm able to to play pretty much any game with this rig but in recent triple A titles like Elden Ring it does have a few hiccups.$743.93 -

I will bring this to college and use it for homework and gaming on the side. With 4080, it can handle any game at any setting no problem. The 4080 is a monster. Puts my older 3070Ti to shame with any game. Obviously, I can't bring this to all my classes so I will use a laptop (MS Surface). The cooler was a pain to install since with the usb connector was in the way of the ram so I and to re-orientate the bracket.$4,285.94 -

I don't play many graphically intensive games hence the 1660 ti. I mainly play Forza Horizon, 2d indie games, and visual novels. I also do a lot of web development and graphic design work. In the future I would like to get a mini tower case and 32 gb of ram. Not all the parts were available in the Micro center parts options. Cooler is a Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B, main drive is a Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SN550 NVMe ssd, also has a Hitachi 500gb hdd and SK Hynix 500gb ssd, case is Thermaltake not sure the model was given to me by a friend.$963.94 -

I built this PC mainly for gaming and general purpose uses to replace my Haswell system that died around 2019. This PC was built for my brother as a birthday gift; ultimately we had to use the OEM graphics card (a 1660 ti) from his previous pre-built PC as GPU stocks were low, but everything else fit around it well. Most of the parts were purchased from Microcenter either on sale or as a bundle, and there were no issues building either. One small change I would have done was switch the case for a 4000D as the glass panel in the front does not provide the best airflow, but otherwise there is enough airflow for some airflow. The CPU is also known to run hot, so I decided to get a liquid cooler to compensate. This PC will mostly be used for gaming, titles such as Fortnite, Valorant, and Dead by Daylight, with some simultaneous Discord screen sharing or OBS recording. So far, the build has been running smoothly without issues and all of these things are able to be done without issues. The GPU is definitely bottlenecking the gaming capabilities though, one game that the build struggles to run is Warzone.$1,179.94 -
