I like old-school tech, tinkering, and trying to make things work that don't make sense. So, I took an old Compaq Presario 4090US Internet PC case, gutted it, chopped away some of the metal on the back, and squeezed modern parts into it. Well, mostly. The system is a fully-functional modern computer, though for extra fun, I've Hackintoshed it to run macOS Monterey. Even though it's running the latest macOS release (as of this writing), it's still got old-school charms: I've got a working floppy drive and optical drive inside of it. Was even able to use the original power LEDs! The only real trouble was finding where to put the power supply, as the case was designed for a proprietary sized PSU. Right now, I'm just using double-sided mounting tape to stick it to the bottom of the case. Hey, it works! :D For comparison, this computer originally had 128MB RAM, a 30GB hard drive, an 800MHz Celeron, and ran Windows ME.$684.94 -

This was my first and currently the only PC I've built so I wanted to build it with fairly modern specs for it's time in the hopes that It would last awhile while also maintaining performance. In hindsight I would have liked to add a bigger SSD to eliminate the need for an HDD.$1,503.91 -

I always tend to slow update my computer build due to budget constraints so, this build started sometime around 2015 and slowly, i updated the parts from time to time depending on the budget and availability of the parts. This is my only computer for games and general purpose use. overall, it's a decent update but i am very satisfied. the only components that came from 2015 were the CPU and the Motherboard. ( Intel Core i7 6700k Skylake and Gigabyte Gaming G7 LGA 1151 motherboard ) all the rest were updated this year due to pandemic situation. This build is not done yet and will continue to upgrade some parts like the graphics card and the AIO cooler soon before changing the cpu and the motherboard if the budget permits.$1,863.90 -

My almost 13 year old rig could no longer hang with Windows 10 and I needed a replacement. I don't play a lot of games, mostly Blizzard and Skyrim. I was looking to build something solid that I could hold onto for another long time.$1,374.94
