Things just kept falling into place! The mobo was 100 the cpu was 100 the GPU was 720 from a microcenter return during the GPU craziness and I just couldn’t pass that up. I love playing Tarkov, Valorant, cyberpunk, kingdom come, elden ring, and the list goes on. Also overclocking is such a fun thing to do with 3dmark. Computers are fun…sometimes!$1,501.00 -

I built this computer originally for gaming and streaming, but I never got too into the streaming thing so it's mainly a gaming rig. I mostly play Doom Eternal, Forza Horizon 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin's Creed (specifically Valhalla), and Warzone. In terms of upgrades, the biggest (and most expensive) one I'm looking to do is custom water-cooling. On the more affordable side of upgrades though, I think some RGB ram would top things off nicely. There have been a few upgrades to this system already; from PSU, to case, to GPU. Originally, the case was a Corsair Crystal Series 570X, the original PSU size was about 650W, and the original GPU was an EVGA 1050ti. After the 1050ti I went with the ASUS TUF RX6800XT, but I had to RMA the card two different times for the same exact issues, and nvidia cards were finally becoming affordable and available so I finally have a 3080!$2,404.88 -

Also, after years of Intel CPU dominance, Ryzen 3000 series were receiving very good reviews and I wanted to try an AMD for myself after having used Intel builds all these years. I was going to make this a balanced build between gaming as well as productivitiy. Ryzen 5 3600 showed great performance in both, so decided to pair it up with 1660 Super to build a mid-budget build!$1,014.61 -

My initial motivation for building this PC two years ago was the anticipated release of Microsoft Flight Simulator. I had been playing other simulators for many years before then and wanted an upgrade for the new intense game. I've been wanting an upgrade from my Dell Optiplex retrofitted with a GTX 1050 Ti for a while, but this pushed me to actually go ahead and do it. I still play Microsoft Flight Simulator to this day, but most of my time on this machine has shifted to software engineering and, incidentally, developing addons for the simulator. I am a computer science student and use this computer to compile Rust libraries, run simulations in Python, and develop websites. A year after getting this computer, I replaced the stock heat sink on my RTX 2080 Super with an NZXT Kraken, and it was totally worth it as I haven't had any problems with thermals since then and the computer is pretty darn quiet. The only upgrade that I see myself making in the foreseeable future is a kit of custom white cables along with a modular PSU to replace the horrendous ketchup and mustard powering the rig.$1,732.91 -

This build was my first, and I needed something that I could WFH on for my GIS/CAD job (so able to smoothly run ArcMap, ArcPro, and CAD), but I also wanted to be able to play a wide variety of games — typically solo rpgs. I built this in early 2020 before the pandemic, and am very happy with everything so far. The only things I've upgraded have been adding more ram and storage.$1,304.90 -
