This started out as a "minor upgrade" to my gaming machine... ended up as a "build completely new machine and only keep the GPU and data drive". And I only kept the data drive since I replaced it a couple of months ago. Components not listed are the RTX 2080ti GPU, a 500GB NVMe as a boot device and a 2TB NVMe for data. Both Samsungs, but I don't remember the exact models (Evo 980 and 970 something). I output to a TV so I'm limited to 60FPS at 4K, and so far I am getting that with the highest settings on every game I've tried with no DLSS.$1,058.63 -

The main reason I built this setup is that I had an opportunity to acquire a formerly very high-end video card from a friend second hand at a reasonable price. He has since moved on to the RTX 4090 (which I think is somewhat silly) but I couldn't pass up a chance to acquire a 3090 ti. The main reason I wanted to do this is that the newest games being made (such as the new game Starfield, releasing in 1 week from this review) are now using a high amount of vram. I'm not sure if the 8gb on my old 3070 card was going to be sustainable going forward. And so now I have a ridiculous, unrealistic, extremely excessive amount of vram (24gb!).$2,061.89 -

It's a gaming rig aimed at 4k 60fps in modern titles, as well as powerful enough (cpu) for emulators. Since I share the room with someone else, I used all noctua fans (excluding the gpu) to minimize noise. I also wanted a natural, minimalist look so I went with a modern looking case from Fractal.$1,973.92 -

After playing video games on a laptop, I wanted a computer that would play the latest and greatest titles. After a week of choosing parts, I went with an all-AMD build for the best bang for my buck. Overall, it has a Swedish minimalist vibe. It uses the $450 7700x, 32 GB G.skill RAM, MSI B650 P Wifi Mobo bundle, and Fractal North case.$1,765.91 -

Built this PC as a primarily gaming focused rig with 3D modeling and light AI training on the side. 7700x paired with a 4080. I am currently on a survival game kick, but I play pretty much anything first person. Obviously this PC has no problem keeping up! If I did it again, I would use a smaller cooler than the NHD-15. It performs fantastic, but it is so big it is hard to work around when adding an M.2 drive for instance. Now, I would for a b650 motherboard over the x670, but at the time, the B series boards were the same price as the x670 boards.$2,438.91 -

I built it for Blender renders, general gaming at 1440p, and casual work/internet use. It handles titles like Battlefield 2042 and Dead by Daylight with ease. Renders on this rig are incredibly fast compared to my laptop computer with a GTX 1050 (4gb). Complex renders on my laptop would could take several hours. This machine with the 4070Ti cranks out the same projects in mere minutes. It is just mind blowing how quick the frames render. I still plan on making minor changes. For instance, I feel like the cable management could be better. And I hate the look of the Seasonic cables that came standard with the PSU. 32gb is fine for now; however, I might buy another set of 16gb sticks to get this up to 64gb. The 4070TI was expensive and probably overkill but I’m loving the build. Total build cost with deals/sales and MicroCenter combo etc was $1989$2,166.96
