After a couple of years of having an SFF gaming build, I decided that I want to go back to ATX. This build is a combination of reusing parts from the past along with black friday buys. I play Overwatch, Counter Strike 2, Valheim, Elden Ring, and lately have been playing all of the Kingdom Hearts game at 4k. The 3070 works well at 4k for me. On less demanding games I can fully saturate my 160hz 4k monitor, and at more intensive games I can reach 80fps with some graphics tweaks. I plan to upgrade to the 5800x3d, and in the future plan to upgrade to the next gen gpu's, but my 3070 has been treating me great so far so not really pressured to upgrade my gpu yet.$1,194.96 -

I have always wanted to build a PC since my freshman year in high school. All my friends either built their own or got a semi-complete build kit already. Now I am in my first year of college, I have finally saved up enough money to do it. The installation process went pretty smoothly, except I had to buy extension cables for the power supply because the stock cable wasn't long enough. Overall, everything went well and I enjoyed the building process.$1,549.94 -

Saw the Fractal Torrent and knew I had to build something with it. I think it came out very nice! I definitely need to get some white PSU cables to match the aesthetic overall. It was a side-grade that only kept the original power supply and graphics card. The main reason for this side-grade was my discontent with the styling of my previous build, which was an all-black RGB build. The Corsair AIO was loud, and while it was nice to look at to an extent, the RGB became obnoxious at night. I wanted to start fresh with a build that would be quieter, include only ssd storage, and overall would be more streamlined. This build was the result! This build was done as a final refresh of a workstation that is based on socket AM4 and using dd4 ram. At the time of writing, the prices of ddr4 ram, ssd storage, and even graphics cards have all dropped significantly. So it was time to hit up Micocenter and make this happen. It's set up in the living room, so being quiet is most important. The case used to have one of those solid plastic front-panels with few vents, so I removed it and just exposed the fan filter directly. The GPU also had a lot of extra plastic covering up the fan exhaust, and I modified the GPU shroud by cutting out most of the plastic bits. Combined with a moderate undervolt, the whole system runs very cool/quiet even while playing games at 1440p.$1,380.95 -

One of my friends was looking at upgrading his computer, so I ended up doing a build for him. He told me what he was looking for, and we looked together to find matching parts for his system. We went with a CPU + mobo bundle from microcenter since it was a great value. Entire system only cost around $1700 after tax! The system is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x processor, which is more than capable of handling most games with ease. The graphics card I choose is an RX 6650XT, which provides decent graphics performance at 2K resolution. The system has 16GB of DDR4 RAM, which is plenty for most games, and a entry level m2 Crucial P3 solid-state drive for fast and reliable storage. While this budget PC is not as powerful as higher-end gaming systems, it is still an excellent option for gamers on a budget who want to play games at 2K resolution without breaking the bank. This build technically started back in 2016 as there are still some leftover parts from my first PC, as time went on I just continued to add more parts and recycle old ones where I can. There is some insane value in this PC as I virtually have little to zero dollars in it since I would upgrade and sell my old parts for more than what I paid originally over the years. I was once an avid gamer and as games got better my PC just couldn't handle them. I have been using a low-tier laptop since 2016 and even that struggled with older games, let alone newer ones. As a personal trainer I would love to be able to make make videos and host live streaming content for my clients or those interested in making a change to their fitness/health habits, but my setup just doesn't have the ability to do so. With this new rig I hope to be able to be able to reach a new group of clients and help them to appreciate fitness and how it can change their lives for the better. This (as well as the included picture) is of the current old PC. I am hoping with the holiday deals and this coupon that the new PC (Parts list) will be on the way shortly. Money is always tight so I will be reusing some components from the old PC. Namely the case, GPU, and SSD.....for now. I had already planned to build this PC when the 3000 series was announced, albeit using a 3070 rather than the ti. My old build used a 2600x and a 1660ti, which was a very good price to performance pairing, but I recently got myself my first ultrawide, a 3440x1440 34" Viotek GN34BC, for an amazing deal from eBay. A pretty good upgrade over my old 24" Sceptre display. Unfortunately, my 1660ti couldn't drive it that well so I've been slowly buying parts for this build and signing up for as many GPU stock alerts as I could. I finally got an email from EVGA saying that a 3070ti was in stock, it wasn't the card I wanted (3070 XC3 Gaming) but it was in stock for MSRP. I jumped on it and it arrived only a few days later. This PC absolutely crushes any game I throw at it, easily hitting the 100hz refresh rate of my ultrawide. I also do a bit of streaming and the 5600x is a great bang for the buck streaming CPU. NVENC is amazing, with no frame drops while encoding 1080p60 5Kb/s streams. Can also push my Quest 2's full res at 120fps without breaking a sweat.$2,034.39 -
