This PC is used for gaming and occasionally for training neural networks for reinforcement learning and AI-related uses. CPU, GPU, SSD, and wifi card originally came from an Alienware R10. After the R10's motherboard refused to boot, I salvaged as much as I could and transferred the PC to this new case, motherboard, power supply, and RAM.$1,038.92 -

First, I was in the process of shopping for expanded storage for my current-gen xbox console. This was really frustrating because the proprietary format expansion cards the console must use are really expensive, especially compared to how prices have really fallen for pc storage devices (both sata and m.2 pci-e drives). The second instance that really sparked this build was seeing a RTX 3060 Ti graphics card at a really good price at Microcenter. With those two factors combined, I was ready to drop by plans of buying expensive console storage and just make my own DIY console.$1,129.91 -

He only plays war thunder, APEX, and other non-graphical intense games, so 3060ti is good enough. He was very happy to have his very first own gaming PC. The only thing I would upgrade to this build is to add another monitor, or get a bigger monitor.$1,598.93 -

Assembled back in late 2020, and will continue to upgrade/change until I can't anymore. I use this build for messing around in Adobe suite (AE/PS/Premiere-- nothing public, sorry!) and gaming whenever I have the time. Admittedly a 3700x and 3060ti may have been a little overkill for the games I actually play (2D platformers, Apex, Minecraft?), but it does mean that at the very least I can run anything I want on ultra. If done again, I'd be tempted to get everything into a smaller form factor, but hey, ATX gave me space to throw in a bunch of RGB bling.$1,419.96 -

For the most part, I play a combination of Forza Horizon 5, Battlefield 2042, Destiny 2, The Isle, Rust, and a few others. For something I wish I'd done differently, I wish I would have gone with a white radiator. I initially chose a be Quiet! pure loop 280mm and spray painted it white, however I left out the tubes. I feel if I'd either just bought a white rad, or spray painted the tubes as well the theme of my build would be more apparent. (I originally wanted a white one, now it's kind of in-between). For future upgrades, I honestly think I'll be set for a while. I'm running a 5600x with a 3070ti, and 16gb of 3200mhz ddr4 ram. I'm considering a cpu+mobo upgrade, but that won't happen for a while.$2,706.83 -
