I had already planned to build this PC when the 3000 series was announced, albeit using a 3070 rather than the ti. My old build used a 2600x and a 1660ti, which was a very good price to performance pairing, but I recently got myself my first ultrawide, a 3440x1440 34" Viotek GN34BC, for an amazing deal from eBay. A pretty good upgrade over my old 24" Sceptre display. Unfortunately, my 1660ti couldn't drive it that well so I've been slowly buying parts for this build and signing up for as many GPU stock alerts as I could. I finally got an email from EVGA saying that a 3070ti was in stock, it wasn't the card I wanted (3070 XC3 Gaming) but it was in stock for MSRP. I jumped on it and it arrived only a few days later. This PC absolutely crushes any game I throw at it, easily hitting the 100hz refresh rate of my ultrawide. I also do a bit of streaming and the 5600x is a great bang for the buck streaming CPU. NVENC is amazing, with no frame drops while encoding 1080p60 5Kb/s streams. Can also push my Quest 2's full res at 120fps without breaking a sweat.$2,034.39 -

I originally built this PC for serious gaming and streaming. I tried my best to get a good balance of price-to-performance, aesthetic, and maybe a bit of brand loyalty. In hindsight I should have done things a little bit differently. I had to make quite a few compromises when it came to the GPU shortage at the time of when I was building. I ended up buying my 3070Ti at Microcenter which at the time was the only graphics card that was available. so that ate up most of my budget. I would have gone with smaller Ram as the Corsair Vengeance RGB Ram that I have currently in the system is a little too tall to mount an AIO cooler. This is also due to the CORSAIR - iCUE 220T RGB case. The case was not my first choice but it was aesthetically pleasing, it was cheaper, and most importantly available. I currently have a 5600x in the system and I am so glad I have chosen that platform. I've had no issues with it and it's been a great budget price performance CPU.$1,844.91 -

I got fed up with my old MacBook and finally decided to build a PC for myself this year. I started gathering parts in July 2021 and got the system to post the following month. Most of the parts I got on sale through Newegg and Micro Center, and the motherboard was the one part I bought secondhand. I built this system for Battlefield 2042 and 1440p high refresh rate gaming. I also plan to use this to learn how to code/program; I want to get into a coding bootcamp to start a new career in tech. I may also use this for streaming, video editing or music production eventually. For a first time build, I'm pretty happy with how this system turned out. Let me know what you guys think as well as what can be improved to make this system even better. Thanks!$2,183.24
