We rearranged out living room and now have all of our electronics in a minimalist tv stand. As a result, the odd man out was the bulky full tower desktop pc I had been using hooked up to the living room oled tv. But, to view the glass as half full, this rearrangement meant I got to do something I've always wanted to try. Namely, to build a complete pc in the same size as a gaming console. Performance wise, there were no real corners cut because I chose a case that accommodated a relatively large graphics card (EVGA RTX 3070). Temperatures aren't much of a problem because the kinds of games this system plays is pretty casual, such as my kid's current playthrough of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.$1,096.90 -

I'm thrilled to share my very first gaming PC setup with you all. After years of living in the Mac world, I've finally made the leap into PC gaming, and let me tell you, it's been an incredible journey! Why I Built It: Switching from Mac to PC was a big decision for me, but I wanted to explore the world of gaming in a whole new way. I built this PC because I wanted something powerful enough to run all the latest games smoothly while still fitting within my budget. It's amazing how customizable and versatile PC gaming can be, and I couldn't wait to dive in. Purpose: This PC may be my first, but it's already exceeded my expectations. It's more than enough for me to enjoy gaming to the fullest, whether I'm exploring the vastness of space in "Elite Dangerous" or battling it out in matches of "Overwatch." Games I Play: As someone new to PC gaming, I'm still exploring all the amazing titles out there, but I've already found a couple of favorites. "Elite Dangerous" is perfect for satisfying my craving for space exploration and adventure, while "Overwatch" scratches that competitive itch with its intense multiplayer action. I'm constantly discovering new games to play and loving every minute of it. Future Upgrades and Reflections: While this PC may be perfect for me right now, I'm excited to see where my gaming journey takes me in the future. As I become more experienced with PC gaming, I might consider upgrading certain components to further enhance my gaming experience. But for now, I'm just enjoying every moment of gaming on my new setup and embracing this exciting new chapter in my gaming journey.$874.94 -

Recently, my old system with an Intel i7-4790k and a GTX 1070ti broke down. I tried for 2 days but could not get it to boot pass window start up loading screen. It's because of that and how outdated it is of a system, I decided to upgrade to a new system. I mostly just doing some lite web browsing as well as doing spreadsheet and video calling. I used to game but since my PC couldn't keep up with the new games as well as life gotten busier I stopped gaming. However, with this new machine of a beast. Every game that I tested now can do well above 100fps with games that goes to the 200fps. So hopefully I can dive back into gaming soon. I went with and Ryzen 7 5800x and ROG Strix B550 motherboard as well as an Radeon RX 7800 XT with the NZXT H6 Flow housing. I know this doesn't have much of an upgrade ability beside from going to the 5800x3d and possibly better GPU however because I want an all-white esthetic and AM4 is the cheapest to go for it.$1,499.92 -

My youngest has always been asking for a PC since his sisters has one, so I've been searching the cyber web for various parts to build him a budget PC. Lots of the parts are used, but I purchased the 5800x3d from Microcenter. The best deal I got was for the Louqe Raw S1 case. The original owner had a custom paint job on it and had a hard time selling it, so I was able to scoop it up for $30. All we did was use paint remove and sanded all the paint off. We liked the bare metal so we left it at that. The only problem with this case is you're limited on the CPU cooler. The best you can fit is the Noctua NH-L12S, but I have future plans to cut down the case to allow a AIO radiator to mount in the back. He is still young so he's been mainly using the PC for learning apps. He's happy with his PC, but now asking about a custom keyboard like his sisters T_T.$1,119.97 -

After a couple of years of having an SFF gaming build, I decided that I want to go back to ATX. This build is a combination of reusing parts from the past along with black friday buys. I play Overwatch, Counter Strike 2, Valheim, Elden Ring, and lately have been playing all of the Kingdom Hearts game at 4k. The 3070 works well at 4k for me. I originally decided to build a high-performance gaming PC for playing Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six Siege with my friends. My previous computer was barely able to run R6 at a stable 1080p60 so it was definitely time for an upgrade. The centerpiece of this build is the Ryzen 7 5700X Processor. I stumbled upon an incredible deal for this CPU online, a lucky find considering its robust performance and typically high demand. For the CPU, I chose the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Cooler for its efficiency and the Asus B550M-A Motherboard for its reliability and features. The cooler itself had a very high amount of reviews and given its price, it has been performing fantastically. The memory, G.SKill's Ripjaws, also has not been giving me any issues at all 32GB is large enough to give me the headroom to run virtually any program I need. Storage was an easy choice, I went with the 970 Evo Plus for its insanely fast data transfer rates and reliability. I decided to go with the 970 over 980 for cost reasons alone, the performance was pretty comparable for my standards either way. The most difficult decision was the graphics card, and I ended up with a ASUS RTX 4070 and so far I have no complaints, and I don't plan to overclock for the time being. For the case I went with the Lian Li LANCOOL 205M, and I selected it for its mesh front and focus on airflow. This build was a long journey of finding the right parts at the right price, particularly the CPU, which was a lucky find that definitely boosts the value and performance of the entire computer's setup.$1,149.83 -

I had it for about 4 years, and did the best I could to upgrade it. After years of suffering through ungodly slow daily use, I finally became old enough to get a job. I worked all summer long and saved enough money that I could buy the computer and only spend half of the money I had saved. I decided that I would go all out, in the hopes that this build would last me a long time. I went with, at the time, all the latest and greatest parts that I could buy, without spending so much that I am approaching the point of diminishing returns. And so the Space Heater was born, it keeps me warm during winters and makes me sweat during the summer. Gaming aside, the quality of life of being able to restart your computer in under a minute, not have to wait for 45 minutes to render a single frame in blender, and to just play any game I want without having to think about whether or not I can run it has been absolutely life changing.$1,730.94 -

I bulit this pc for mainly general use like web browsing but also for gaming in competitive shooters since that is my favorite genre. This pc gets me high fps and good visual clarity for me to be able to spot enemies more easily and I would say it was worth the time and effort to build.$1,610.31 -

A couple years back I bought my first PC as a prebuilt as my 6-7 year old ps4 started to die. Skipping all the nitty gritty and fast forwarding to the present, I’m now a fully fledged PC-Building enthusiast that’d totally spend hours building PCs over and over if they could. This rig is meant for both gaming AND productivity. For gaming it drives a 4k 240hz Samsung Neo G8 Monitor and does extremely well with every game I throw at it save for the most unoptimized games. The current games I find myself playing right now include Alan Wake 2, Battlefield 2042, and Counter-Strike 2. It is an absolute pleasure playing anything with this setup. Ontop of 4k and 240Hz I also play in HDR. It doesn’t really give me a competitive advantage but boy do games look even more amazing with HDR on. Alan Wake 2 is incredibly mastered for HDR and I wouldn’t play it without it on. In terms of productivity I also have a drawing tablet hooked up to this pc so I can draw on it. It’s not terribly demanding on the hardware so a lot of the spec of this rig is absolutely overkill for this kind of work, but every bit of power definitely helps rendering the largest projects I do. The 32GB of ram I have installed is an absolute necessity for the kind of work that I do and while a 5800X3D isn’t really a productivity chip, it definitely gets the job done. Especially since nothing I do demands high frequency clock speeds. Overall, this is absolutely a dream build for me. I’m lucky to be able to acquire this kind of hardware. It’s practically my pride and joy. There are some upgrades I’d like to do when I get the money and the chance. That includes personalization, probably some Lian Li Strimer cables. That’s more of a luxury thing than a necessity so naturally those would be the last thing on my things to put in. I’d probably also unplug everything so I can do some better cable management. I built a pc for my friend and am quite jealous of the better cable management I did for him since, at the time, I just knew better. In terms of actual upgraded hardware. I’d probably upgrade to a ddr5 platform down the road, either with the current newest gen or with a future gen down the road.$2,502.91 -
