After a couple of years of having an SFF gaming build, I decided that I want to go back to ATX. This build is a combination of reusing parts from the past along with black friday buys. I play Overwatch, Counter Strike 2, Valheim, Elden Ring, and lately have been playing all of the Kingdom Hearts game at 4k. The 3070 works well at 4k for me. On less demanding games I can fully saturate my 160hz 4k monitor, and at more intensive games I can reach 80fps with some graphics tweaks. I plan to upgrade to the 5800x3d, and in the future plan to upgrade to the next gen gpu's, but my 3070 has been treating me great so far so not really pressured to upgrade my gpu yet.

I build this pc for my littler brother who just wanted to get back into gaming since his razer laptop bit the dust recently. Luckily, one of my friends is upgrading their pc and they were looking to sell some of their old parts. These parts are a nice upgrade from his 2017 razor laptop. He didn't want a case, more like outright refusing to buy, so i respected his wishes and built it. Dust would most likely be an issue, however, he's cleans his entire gaming setup twice a week so I guess it won't be as much of an issue. He's using this to play games like Phasmophobia, Overwatch, and more recently Lethal Company at 4k. What surprised me is that even at 4k the 3070 is still very capable, and for those less demanding games like Overwatch he was able to fully saturate his monitor at 4k 160hz (at low settings but that's how he was playing at 1080p anyways). In terms of noise, the pc is in a high noise floor environment anyways so it is completely inaudible (I can only imagine how loud the pc is in a more normal noise floor environment).

This build was my first time building a PC, as I had previously been using a prebuilt desktop with my own addition of a SSD, GPU, and PSU. I wanted this to be a strong PC that could suit anything from playing games, general work, and media consumption.

I built this PC myself 8 years ago, though I've obviously upgraded it a few times since then. Never quite got the hang of perfect cable management, so it doesn't look super fancy or anything, but it definitely does the job. I actually built it because I didn't want to buy the new Xbox One at the time and I wanted to look at a cheaper option with a smaller budget, which turned out to be PC gaming. Since then, I've splurged whenever I could afford to, and though it's no longer the cheapest option like I originally planned, I do get a powerful system that looks so fantastic in action! My PC is for mostly gaming. I play just about anything that catches my eye, from lesser known games like Duck Game and Temtem, to AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077 and GTA V. My favorites though, have to be Detroit: Become Human, Payday 2, Borderlands 2, and Beat Saber (I have the original Vive for anyone curious!). I also draw, write papers, and did all my work on it in college, so it doubles for general purpose. I think I'm done upgrading for a few years, as I just got my GPU and new PSU this past year, but my next will definitely have to include the CPU/MOBO/RAM. In case anyone is wondering, I still am entering the competition despite not needing an upgrade myself, because I'm getting my boyfriend into PC gaming now! I'm surprising him with a 3060 Ti that I was able to grab next week, but we still need everything else eventually. :') As for anything I'd do differently, I guess work on my cable management and how neat it looks inside with the lighting, but I can always fix that next time I do anything with it, I guess. :)

This is a computer that I took a lot of time to decide on the parts that went into it. I originally wanted to go with a white themed build but decided on a stealthy black and silver colorway. I think it turned out fantastic and it does what it is supposed to do. I have had some of the items in my setup for years like the mic and the ASUS monitor but the desk, LG monitor, tower, mouse, and desk mat are all fairly new.
