I wanted to make myself a modern day linux-based steam machine, that doubles as a build server for work as well as a host for plex/nas/etc, hence the strong cpu Loved the case for the DIY-ability and the m2 mounting holes absolutely everywhere. I had it for about 4 years, and did the best I could to upgrade it. After years of suffering through ungodly slow daily use, I finally became old enough to get a job. I worked all summer long and saved enough money that I could buy the computer and only spend half of the money I had saved. I decided that I would go all out, in the hopes that this build would last me a long time. I went with, at the time, all the latest and greatest parts that I could buy, without spending so much that I am approaching the point of diminishing returns. And so the Space Heater was born, it keeps me warm during winters and makes me sweat during the summer. Gaming aside, the quality of life of being able to restart your computer in under a minute, not have to wait for 45 minutes to render a single frame in blender, and to just play any game I want without having to think about whether or not I can run it has been absolutely life changing.$1,730.94 -

I wanted to build something that I could race, game, run Plex server, and watch 4K movies on with true HDR. All-in-one, and one-for-all; not separate devices! I built it and the gaming part was great, but the 4k Blu-ray part was only so-so : ( And then I moved on to a 3080 12GB ITX build and a second-hand XBox One S, because two purpose built things are always better than an all-in-one thing! Learn from my learning experience : ) Some of the part choices were forced, because the last CPU that supports Blu-ray disc playback is the Intel 10th Gen. I would have loved to go for an 11400 at the time (12th gen wasn't out yet, though I would have gotten the 12600K had I known a used XBox was such a better BD player), but a 10700K was my choice. Fitting it into the Silverstone Grandia 09 case was a challenge, especially for CPU cooling. I wanted something that could cool better than a low-profile Noctua, so I shoved a 120mm Arctic Freezer radiator in there. Also a learning experience; 120mm rads are not all that much better than air cooling -_- And although I did not need to, one foresight was to get an EVGA SFX-size power supply, as that made fitting power cables near the radiator MUCH easier.$1,560.89 -

My brother got a job where he'll be traveling and living in and out of hotels so I wanted to downsize his PC and upgrade him at the same time. We had a 6700k, 32GB RAM, and a GTX 1070 Ti that were all bought second hand in a Corsair ATX case. Most of the games he plays are newer titles and Runescape while doing homework so I wanted something he can pal around with and also be very fast. I lucked upon the 3070 and found the case on Aliexpress. The CPU was bought at the Chicago Microcenter to go with the B460M ITX board I acquired. Unfortunately it's limited to the 10 series but thankfully Microcenter was there to help with a great price on the 10400.$1,336.96 -

VR games: Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Star Wars Squadrons. Non-VR games: Rocket League, Minecraft. Theme of the build was chosen to complement my sim racing room. Painted the case and added a custom made control panel with a start button from a Lotus Elise. I really wanted an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor, but there were none to be had, so the Intel Core i5 10600K was my second choice, but it's having no problems running all my games at decently high settings.$1,499.91 -

Started this build in August to be prepared for the RTX30 launch, just waiting to get my hands on one. I mostly use it for VR racing and flight sims but play a wide range of games. This was my 3rd custom build to start from scratch and I'm ecstatic how this one turned out and how well it runs even with a 2 generation old GPU. Will be including the new graphics card in the custom loop. *I'm working out of town and haven't been able to set it up in my office so I submitted a picture of my home setup to which this pc will trade places with once I'm back home*$5,321.94
