The whole thing is built around a white out theme using as many white components as possible. This whole thing took about a year of planning and part picking, with some updates as technologies became better or more apparent as the next big thing. The original plan was to wait for 40 series Nvidia cards to drop, but with the delays now mounting I went with a current gen high tier card instead.$4,368.53 -

This is hopefully the final iteration/form of my gaming rig, built primarily for the purpose of sim racing but also gaming in general. I play iRacing, Forza, Call of Duty and many others. Also do some streaming occasionally when I'm doing a major endurance race in iRacing. My only future upgrade plan is to possibly move up to a 4090 if price and availability cooperates.$4,317.95 -

Fell hard for the game on console. With all future updates/move to PC exclusive. Decided to go all in with a dream build for the first one. Suspend the college savings for a bit and built a 4K gaming beast for around $4k. Got to love symmetry.$4,279.83 -

Five years ago I joined the world of building custom gaming PCs with my very first gaming desktop containing a Core i5-4690K and a GTX 960 2GB. Ironically enough this was also my very first time visiting my local Micro Center location about an hour drive away. I knew that this wouldn't be the final form of that system and have been upgrading on a roughly annual basis little by little; new CPU cooler here, new GPU there, real standard stuff. By the end of 2020 AMD and NVIDIA both dropped their massive architecture improvements; namely Zen 3 and Ampere. With my recent paychecks from my new part-time job saved up from Christmas break, I knew I wanted to go all out on upgrades and decided to restart from the ground up to build the ultimate system of my dreams. Behold Eclipse; my Ryzen 9 5900X and RTX 3090 FE gaming and editing PC. Yes I know the CPU and GPU are super hard to get ahold of, I feel you 100%. But let this just be a reminder to not give in to scalpers. The CPU was bought from Micro Center at MSRP and the GPU was bought from a guy looking to trade for an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT. He dropped the price to $1600 when I offered to meet him halfway so even if I'd have bought this GPU myself, the total would've only been $11 cheaper after tax. Even if he wanted the $1589 the card costed after tax I probably would've brought him $11 worth of food for his troubles anyway haha. I really hope you all like this rig as it was my first build with this magnitude of hardware and I think it turned out fantastic. If you wanna see the build process, I highly recommend you check out the video I made on my YouTube channel which can be found here: https://youtu.be/RJSADalELNg I do a lot of fun PC builds and other PC-tech related stuff on my channel so I'd really appreciate if you took a look. The Overkill Mk. 1 The Overkill Mk. 1
After years of laptop gaming and dreaming of a proper rig for my heavier games, I finally made the leap and built it out.... After years of laptop gaming and dreaming of a proper rig for my heavier games, I finally made the leap and built it out. Starting with the hardest-to-find parts in the thick of parts shortages, I was able to ensure my build was balanced and available all at once. Now to get through my huge Steam backlog! The majority of the parts came from Micro Center, and one of the employees helped me spec it out as a balanced build with some parts I had already decided on. She had recommendations for anything I wasn't sure of, caught some errors (and saved me good money), and generally had a great attitude throughout! Throughout the build, I had to make a few changes from the original plan. - One of which was a switch from Crucial memory to Corsair. This was since the Crucial memory didn't have great RGB software and kept getting stuck in an ugly way. Plus, with iCue and the Corsair sticks, I was able to set the hardware defaults so it wouldn't blast rainbow on startup! - Another difficulty I had was with the motherboard firmware. It turns out the RGB controller on the board had an issue where it froze up, and information online was limited. However, I was finally able to find an update via MSI's website that, after a few adjustments, I was able to bring it back in full! - Unrelated to the PC, there was a faulty in-wall ethernet connection in the office of my apartment. It took a long time to resolve, but a LV Electrician saved the day and found a break in the line where it met the panel. I was then able to take down the 25ft Cat6 that was temporarily stretched through the apartment and into the router. Now I have Cat6 running gigabit internet, through a switch, and right into the 2.5G LAN port on the motherboard! - Another issue is that my poor Corsair Virtuoso SE is having random glitches with audio output, but only on this machine. Occasionally and randomly, it will turn to painfully crackly static when in a discord call. Sometimes it gets better and sometimes it gets worse if I wait, but restarting the headset makes it disappear. I tried just about everything (all drivers and possibly relevant software uninstalled or reinstalled) until I found threads suggesting it was the UEFI/BIOS. It looks like the more recent B550 UEFI/BIOS updates have continually chipped away at this problem, so I'm still hopeful, but I should probably reinstall Windows just to be sure. - Finally, I have minor annoyances with the RGB and software of multiple brands being so inconsistent or incompatible. For the crazy amount of money I spent on name brands, I definitely expected a smoother experience! SignalRGB ended up being the cleanest way to control them all, but it's still not perfect. Hoping this continues improving in the future!$4,268.09 -

This is my first time dealing with a water cooled gpu and overlooked the case so you will have to have the vertical mount from Lian Li if you plan to run this gpu in the o11d evo case if you don't want the glass pushing against the tubes. The glass panel will shut but I don't like putting stress on the tubes. The pc will easily play Cyberpunk (without rtx overdrive), hogwarts legacy, and Horizon 5 at 100+ fps on max settings with Ray tracing on a 3440x1440p monitor. The GPU overclocks pretty easily and scored very high on 3d mark port royal. I have added a picture of the best overclock setup I could figure out so far but I am still pretty new to overclocking.(just watch JayzTwoCents' review of the card as he is way better than me at that) The case is very easy to cable manage and has a removable hdd bay that sits right above the power supply. However, if you plan on using the hdd bay I would not recommend the Corsair shift power supplies as it gives you very little room to access the cables. The vertical gpu mount does take a couple weeks to arrive from amazon so if you want the build completed all at once I would order that in advance. Once the gpu mount arrives I plan on getting the final 3 intake fans installed and will then be completed.$4,254.87 -
