This is a build I did for my sister, who asked me to build her a gaming PC so she could play Rimworld and Minecraft. Since she's a college student, I pulled every trick I could, including using the Microcenter 7700X bundle and store card discount, and gave her spare parts.$1,259.45 -

I finished up my first two semesters of college with a 3.7gpa so I decided to award myself with a new PC to game over summer break. Primary focus for the rig is gaming, but wanted to spend a little extra so that it's beefy basically enough to do anything since I'll be bringing with me back to my dorm next year.$1,969.92 -

I like the Fractal North case because you can just look at it and be pleased after a very expensive purchase decision. I wanted the inside to be blacked out since you can't really see the inside of your case all the time, and the only RGB I really want is the Geforce RTX logo from my graphics card. Decided to be conservative on the specs I go with, albeit the 7800 X3D bundle is too good to pass up. I wanted to save the rest of the money for a very nice (and expensive) QD-OLED monitor, preferably, something like the MSI MPG 321URX, which is sadly still not in stock. Other than that, Noctua fans keep my PC quiet without any annoying frequencies, which is useful since I use open-back headphones. 4 TB main drive should last for a while, and cover all my storage needs.$1,807.35 -

I ordered RTX 4080 Super as my choice of GPU because it's the best value in terms of performance per dollar cost. I basically just wanted to take a crack and building another desktop and, during the process, by doing a few things I haven't done before. One of these new things was building on an AM5 socket. I mainly held off this long from trying AM5 due to initially high DDR5 prices, but those have thankfully already fallen a long way. Another thing I really wanted to try is the new North chassis by my favorite case manufacturer, Fractal Design. I'm pretty brand-loyal to Fractal ever since the Meshify came out several years ago. Anyway the North case does a really nice thing in two different ways. One, it matches the wooden furniture I have elsewhere in my living room. And two, the North case is ventilated is so many different ways, it really opens up near-limitless possibilities for fan customization and airflow optimization.$2,656.92 -

If i remember this right, it's been over 13 years since I've built my first (and only) desktop PC, so I came into this one a little bit rusty and barely any experience. Since then, I mostly just used consoles for gaming, considering that first PC was VERY low end, but i finally got the courage to step into the "master race" once again. After a lot of catching up and a bunch of youtube videos, yet another Fractal North build was born... All jokes aside, I don't remember having as much fun doing something in the last few years, as I had building this thing from the ground up! And you get that extra warm feeling when the build comes to life, EXACTLY as you imagined it.$2,474.92 -

Built this for the whole family to hop on and kill bad guys, crash cars or build forts on. It is definitely overkill for COD, dayz and Minecraft but I didn’t want to have to worry about upgrading in the future. I’m not a computer dude so if you have any recommendations or anything, you're probably going to have to dumb it down for me. Overall I’m stoked about the way it turned out.$2,204.94 -

With online tutorials, I managed to light it up for the first time. I built it during the COVID pandemic, making it challenging to find a graphics card. I settled for a 3700G just to get the PC running. Luckily, I snagged a 3070 Ti FE from Best Buy after lining up all night. I finally completed my rig, and so far, everything is working perfectly for all the games I've played :)$1,139.92 -

I built this machine about 2 and half years ago, for the purpose of gaming with school work mixed into it. I play a wide variety of games which changes all the time; currently sitting at playing Destiny 2, Elden Ring, and Deep Rock Galactic for the most part. Over time I've got some minor upgrades with a major; being that I added M.2s to fill the NVMe slots on the X570 and about just over a year ago, close to two years now, I upgrade my GPU from a 5700x to a 3060. More recently added the Vengeance 2x16gb RAM cards to be the most recent major upgrade I've done. I plan on in the near future upgrading my PSU to allow me some extra room for future upgrades; while also simultaneously planning on my next major upgrade of my CPU, GPU, and possibly motherboard, around the time the 50 series are released by NVIDIA.$1,198.92
