Being a Mechanical Engineer requires a powerful PC, but you also need some down time to game your life away. I use this PC for CAD, 3D printing and gaming mostly. This build started in 2018 and slowly evolved into what I have now. Before my recent upgrade I had i5 6600k, 16Gb Trident z rgb, Gigabyte H110m, and very basic black fans. I now have NZXT kraken x63 on my Reyzen 7 3800x, 32Gb Trident z Neo at 3600Mhz, MSI RTX 2060, MSI b450 mortar max, 3 Corsair QL120 fans and 1 QL140 fan allowing me to stay cool and look cool while being able to maximize gaming and engineering performance. In the Future im hoping to get a Nvidia Geforce 2070 super Founders edition, a z63 cooler, and new power supply with sleeved wires, but for now I can manage.$1,509.93 -

Wanted to put something together that could perform everyday tasks, but also play games and enjoy it's performance playing the likes of COD: Warzone, Valorant, Hyper Scape, Grounded, to name a few titles. This was a test doing a little custom painting on the NZXT H510 case which had the Red band but painted that white, taped it off and then sprayed out some black. From there taped off what needed to be and the entire inside of the case was painted white and came out looking nice for a really good Black/White contrast. I guess for the time being it's a work in progress that'll be ongoing. I'll be upgrading to a full ATX Case which will be white, as well as looking forward to picking up a Founders 3080 when they release to throw inside$1,504.97 -

Things just kept falling into place! The mobo was 100 the cpu was 100 the GPU was 720 from a microcenter return during the GPU craziness and I just couldn’t pass that up. I love playing Tarkov, Valorant, cyberpunk, kingdom come, elden ring, and the list goes on. Also overclocking is such a fun thing to do with 3dmark. Computers are fun…sometimes!$1,501.00 -

Recently, my old system with an Intel i7-4790k and a GTX 1070ti broke down. I tried for 2 days but could not get it to boot pass window start up loading screen. It's because of that and how outdated it is of a system, I decided to upgrade to a new system. I mostly just doing some lite web browsing as well as doing spreadsheet and video calling. I used to game but since my PC couldn't keep up with the new games as well as life gotten busier I stopped gaming. However, with this new machine of a beast. Every game that I tested now can do well above 100fps with games that goes to the 200fps. So hopefully I can dive back into gaming soon. I went with and Ryzen 7 5800x and ROG Strix B550 motherboard as well as an Radeon RX 7800 XT with the NZXT H6 Flow housing. I know this doesn't have much of an upgrade ability beside from going to the 5800x3d and possibly better GPU however because I want an all-white esthetic and AM4 is the cheapest to go for it.$1,499.92 -

And truthfully, I've never ever built one completely from scratch. I've tinkered and upgraded, but never a full on build. I built this computer to play RTX games like Control, other third person action games, FPS games of all kinds, and those "walking simulators" like Firewatch and What Remains of Edith Finch. I LOVE a great game story. I mostly play PC games like Destiny 2 and Deliver us the Moon... as well as fun VR games like Half-Life: Alyx & Beat Saber. I also love to stream with my family with games like Davigo VR, Fall Guys, Minecraft, Overwatch, Fortnite, Splitgate, Among Us, and others! Our Twitch channel is BurtonFamGaming. This rig is a gaming, VR, streaming PC... mostly for me (Dad), but also for the whole family (only... with Dad's permission of course. Only I have the password) :-D If I could go back, I might have waited a few months so I could purchase a 3080... but oh well. :-) I researched this for most of quarantine before finally building it about 4 weeks ago... so frankly, there's not much I would change about how I built it. The ONLY thing I wish I had done was perhaps get an X570 board or the ROG Strix B550-E so I'd get that Gen 2 Type C front header. I also plan to upgrade to 32 gigs of ram before long... but besides that, I'm really happy with it!$1,494.91 -

I'm not a big fan of RGB and because I can never do thing the easy way, I decided to do a custom case mod. So I built a Honduran mohogany desk that also acts as the case for the pc. Honduran Mahogany is the most stable wood you can use for furniture from an expansion and stability standpoint. Currently as it stands now, I haven’t oiled it yet, which will come when soon. It’s only version one and because I’m obsessive, I’m going to likely be working on another very soon to make it even better. I’ve got through 4 desks in the past 2 years and after the first 3 just decided I had to do it myself. I also host an Apache web server on Ubuntu server on a separate machine, so v2 of this desk will a dual or triple motherboard configuration, much cleaner, and water cooled so I can allow for much lower clearance configurations. It took me many many hours of work and many late nights because my shop is 2 hours away so I have to maximize the time I spend there! I’m a professional consultant for big home projects during my day job, and it was nice to take some of that energy and put it into my own home project, which is something I don’t always get the chance to do. After always having a mid-tower or bigger case to house my desktop, I decided to build an ITX computer when it came time to upgrade my PC. It's mainly meant for gaming and general desktop usage and it's been able to conquer that all while the temps are still pretty cool for such a compact space. I definitely sacrificed some USB ports and some other IO (PCIe slots), but I think it was pretty worthwhile knowing it's much more portable than the H700 I used to have. I guess additionally, the pain points were cable management, AIO placement, and the GPU display cables.$1,479.61
