My HP OMEN laptop was starting to feel tired being put to work 40+hrs a week and additional playtime hours when the weather turns cold. This is it's successor. My gaming is typically heavily modded it until it breaks Skyrim, FFXIV, LOL, Civ VI, RDR 2, Assassin's Creed franchise and so on. Work is some light and heavy excel / sheets for and productivity is light photo / video editing at the amateur level. Priorities considered during build: 1.Performance 2.Quiet (I'm so tired of laptop coil wine and loud ramp ups) 3.Functionality 4.Value/$ 5.Aesthetics: Avoided gamery looking finished build (RGB). They're cool but not for my daily driver.$2,003.90 -

I use it for work mostly and play chivalry 2, rust and other games when I have time. I tried to keep everything gigabyte but it was difficult with supply issues and LHR cards which drove me to the founders edition 3080. When I built it I used a 1080 from a prebuilt until prices came down and DDR5 ram was also unattainably expensive. Overall I am very happy I don’t overclock and plan to have the computer for a very long time. I may consider the new Radeon cards if they stomp out the 4080 as I have been reading. Overall I am quite pleased and shocked that I was able to put everything together, it took a lot of research but I have learned so much and feel I can fix anything if anything messes up. The cord management in the back is still all over the place, at some point I will take the time to make it all look pretty but that's the greatest thing, having all the room in the back without any larger drives to just have all the cords for the rgb stuff.$2,674.89 -

My parts were starting to get pretty slow so I decided to have a little fun and really treat myself! Built it for gaming so I can play 1440p games at my monitor's refresh rate, 170hz. When I first built it, I played a lot of Apex and Dead by Daylight, but I've made the switch over to Overwatch 2 instead of Apex. Also built it for newer games, like Cyberpunk 2077. I was thinking of upgrading to a 4000 series GPU for potential VR, but the pricing is not on the right mark so I'll probably just wait a while to upgrade anything. If I could change anything, I would make sure to cable manage the back a bit better... not my strongest area of PC building.$2,192.34
