I use it to tinker with various linux distributions and related open source projects. I don't do any PC gaming, but the APU still gives me some baseline graphics capabilities. And the motherboard offers great expansion potential for future upgrades!$354.95 -

AM4 is still very fast and I am hoping to capitalize on the falling prices due to the AM5 release this Fall. Currently I am CPU bottle-necked as my optiplex 7020 has a i5-4690 (an 8 year old processor). I only play league of legends and it was saddening to see that I could not get 144 fps to accommodate my new monitor's refresh rate. Already have the GPU, PSU. Need mobo, cpu, ram, ssd, and case. Can't wait to get this speed demon cracking 400 fps on low settings in league haha xD$574.96 -

I build my first computer in 2012 with a Radeon 7870 and a 3570k, and I've been upgrading it piecemeal since. The 7870 died a year or so in, and I got impatient waiting on an RMA and bought a Geforce GTX 770. I eventually replaced the 770 with a GTX 1070, which I then eventually replaced with a RTX 3070 I snagged waiting in the opening line at a Microcenter. The 1070 is in my fiance's rig now, and the 770 is in storage as a backup. The 3570k was replaced with the R5 2600 a little while after I got the 1070, and is also in my fiance's rig. The original (now dead) 120GB HyperX SSD is mounted in the window side of my current case as a memorial. It's mainly a gaming rig, but it's also my general purpose work and productivity machine. It's great (somewhat overkill GPU wise) for 1080p144hz (although I'm hoping to upgrade the CPU to help with the 144hz part), and is a solid video editing/occasional streaming machine as well. I essentially plan on continuing to upgrade this as I have been, I know some people like the clean break of a whole new rig but I like just tinkering every now and then to keep it up to date.$2,647.98 -
