Instead of trying to figure out what parts needed to be replaced, I thought it was a good time to just build an entire new PC from scratch. I built this mainly for gaming as I use a Macbook Pro for work and other day to day tasks. Given that this was my first build and I wasn't too confident, I did not want to spend a whole lot and just opted for the best bang for the buck I could get. So far it's been a beast and I plan on adding some Noctua fans in the future to quiet it down a bit and improve airflow.$1,359.92 -

I will start by saying that Microcenter is 100% responsible for making me cave and go full-upgrade to the new AM5 platform. I was holding off because not only would Ryzen 7000 generation cpu's require me to buy a new motherboard, but i would have to buy a new ddr5 ram kit as well. Enter Microcenter. I was spending time browsing my local store (quite dangerous for the wallet, in retrospect) and I saw something I couldn't pass up. Namely, buying a new 7700x cpu would come with a 32gb ddr5 ram kit completely free. Sold. Now one thing I did learn through this process is that once I made the purchase and got the new 7700x cpu box in my hands, it became clear that I had overlooked something. Specifically, the 7700x box is obviously far too small and light to contain a stock air cooler, which I had always used in the past with AMD. This took me down a trail of research that ultimately has me trying out my first liquid cooling AIO unit. I am only doing light gaming right now (hence the 3060 Ti), and spend most of it still playing Final Fantasy XIV. But I might upgrade later if I get back into more serious demanding pc games. I think I'm set with this motherboard, ram, and cpu for a while though!$1,727.95 -

I had already purchased the 3060Ti, and so I wanted to upgrade the rest of the components to something more modern. Right now I am playing The Last of Us Part 1 (pc release). I'm enjoying it and it's running well. I think most of the negative feedback people have voiced about TLOU P1 on pc is due to having older graphics card that aren't as compatible.$1,652.91 -

This build is intended for gaming, and it does it with ease. Things I needed to do: I needed to use a longer screwdriver to install the CPU cooler, as the one that came with it was not enough for me, update BIOS so the CPU would work, and adjust the memory speed. I did notice that the SSD was not showing up on the BIOS, however when installing Win everything was fine.$1,504.91 -

The 7600X is super powerful for a Ryzen 5 and it is a huge upgrade from my previous build. Now I use it to play GTA, Deep Rock Galatic at 1440p 144fps. Basic but functional build, mainly for single player gaming like Guardian's of the Galaxy, Jedi Fallen Order, Spider-Man, and the Tomb Raider series, but some co-op like Star Wars Squadrons, Ready or Not, Iron Harvest, and classics like L4D2. I'm planning on adding a fan or two to blow up at the GPU since the basement of the case has ventilated side panels and top. The case already has excellent airflow, so it's more of a curiosity if it could improve GPU temps. Maybe in the future liquid cooling.$1,911.93
