I've been piecing this build together a bit at a time for the last six months. I mainly kept an eye out for components that would be a significant upgrade over my 11900K / 3070 Ti desktop build. Shoutout to the employees at my local microcenter who take time to hunt down the random clearance items I order. Everything but the AIO cooler and the ssd storage devices were bought at microcenter. Currently on the 13700k, I have all P cores overclocked to 5.8 with all E cores at 4.4 with vcore set to 1.35 and medium LLC. My ddr5 is modestly overclocked from 6000 to 6400 for the time being. I need to re-learn how to overclock ram because a lot of bios settings have become more complex since ddr3-ddr4 days. From what I understand, Hynix A die modules should be able to overclock significantly higher frequencies - I just need to learn how to pull that off.$1,624.25 -

It is used daily for everything, including three monitors. Two of these are used for gaming: One 34" ultrawide monitor that runs 3440x1440 at 100hz, and then alternately a 55" TCL 55R646 tv than I use for a console like experience (wireless controller, steam big picture mode) at 4k,120hz. I primarily play RPG / JRPG, action, adventure games. Up next for me is to play the recently updated current-gen version of The Witcher III at 120fps. The name of this build was drawn from the predominantly graphite & silver scheme on many of the components. I just rolled with this color scheme after finding multiple clearance deals at Microcenter that I considered too good to pass up. The graphics card, motherboard, ddr5 ram, and most of the ssd storage were all taken from Microcenter clearance. The biggest problem I ran into was also directly related to this. Specifically, the clearance / open box RTX 3090 Ti ended up being a bare card only and was missing the required 3-pronged power adapter that plugs directly into the card. Thankfully, I was able to contact MSI and I can recommend their customer support. Since the card was still unregistered and under warranty, MSI sent me the power cable I needed at no further cost to me.$1,775.77 -

As the title implies, I dreamt of building a computer for a long time before I got to do it. I was newly hired at a jeweler's workshop and being taught how to work on a few 3D moduling programs. My supervisor noticed how comfortable I am around computers and how I quickly I learned shortcuts and tricks. He told that they're going to buy a new system and showed me the spec sheet some "expert" suggested they put together. He was in for a spin when he asked my opinion (and when he v watched me put everything thing together+cable manage the heck out of it.) On that list was a 3080, during the worst time of the chip shortage. I proceeded to explain that the programs we work on require a fast processor and a lot of RAM, but not so much graphical prowess. He was convinced and next day I had a couple Ks in my pocket shopping for parts and trying to snag the best price on every thing. Even though technically this isn't my computer, I enjoyed building it as it was mine.$804.93 -

Needed a pc upgrade soon and why not better to go all out on new am5 platform. Built it knowing it will handle all my needs mainly for work that utilizes these extra cores (VM’s) and occasional gaming on the side. This is my first time custom water cooling. Made quite of a few mistakes during bending, but wasn’t an issue considering I bought extras knowing that in mind. Planning to upgrade to higher 128gb capacity once prices lower and become available.$7,299.93 -

This PC will deliver some of the best gaming performance imaginable! The Ryzen 7 5800x3D's tremendous amount of cache (100 MB!) will rival, if not beat, the 12900KS in gaming within games that utilize the cache. On top of this, the RTX 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra is one of the fastest GPUs in the market! Some games played on this machine include COD Warzone, Apex Legends, Red Dead Redemption, and Forza Horizon 5. I play all games on this machine at 4K, at over 100 FPS, with most games maxed entirely out. Future upgrades include adding the Corsair iCUE ELITE CPU Cooler LCD Display Upgrade Kit to the AIO, adding light strips to the case, and installing an LCD display where the glass window is located near the PSU. ------------------------------- Some info about the parts used in the build ------------------------------------- The case is a Corsair 7000D Airflow. This case is massive, with lots of airflow and room to build. It supports up to a 480 Rad in the front, a 420 on the top, a 360 on the side, and a 140 on the rear. Therefore, lots of large fans can be used throughout the case. The motherboard is an Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero. This motherboard has an insane amount of USB ports on the back, has both 2.5G and 1 G ethernet, Wifi 6, Post-Error code reporting, and fantastic overclocking potential. Lastly, the board has 2 PCIe 4 M.2 slots for fast storage. The case fans are all Corsair QL 140mm case fans. These fans are great fans with lots of RGB! The AIO is a Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE CAPELLIX Liquid CPU Cooler, a 420mm radiator. The PSU is a Seasonic Prime 1300w 80 Plus Platinum. Seasonic makes some of the best PSUs in the market. Therefore, that is why I went with them. Please see the Build Parts List for the other parts used in this build. Thank you for checking out my build! :)$4,546.10 -
