In the bustling town where I grew up, there weren't many options for computer enthusiasts like me. Sure, there were a handful of small computer shops scattered around, each offering a mishmash of components, but none could compare to the tech haven that is Microcenter. My journey into the world of building PCs began amidst these humble surroundings. Armed with determination and a modest budget, I scoured the shelves of these local stores, piecing together my first rig. It wasn't perfect, but it was mine—a testament to my budding passion for all things tech. As I tinkered with my creation, learning the ins and outs of hardware assembly, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more out there, something beyond the limitations of my small town's offerings. That something turned out to be Microcenter. The first time I set foot in that gleaming megastore, I felt like a kid in a candy shop. Row upon row of pristine components stretched out before me, gleaming under the fluorescent lights. It was a paradise for any PC enthusiast, with shelves stocked high with the latest processors, graphics cards, and peripherals. But it wasn't just the sheer variety of products that captivated me—it was the expertise of the staff. Unlike the often clueless employees at the local shops, the Microcenter team were true professionals, eager to share their knowledge and offer advice on even the most obscure tech questions. Armed with the resources of Microcenter and the guidance of its knowledgeable staff, I embarked on my next build with newfound confidence. Gone were the days of settling for "okay" parts; now, I had access to the best of the best. With their help, I carefully selected each component, ensuring that my new rig would be a masterpiece of performance and reliability. As I sat back and admired my completed build, I couldn't help but marvel at how far I'd come. From humble beginnings in those small-town computer shops to the pinnacle of PC building excellence at Microcenter, my journey had been nothing short of extraordinary. And as I powered up my new rig for the first time, I knew that the best was yet to come. At its core lay the beating heart of my creation, the Intel i7 8700k, a processor as reliable as it was powerful. With its six cores and twelve threads, it was the engine that drove my digital adventures, powering through the most demanding of tasks with ease. Surrounding it, like loyal soldiers standing guard, were 32GB of RAM, a veritable army of memory, ready to tackle any challenge I threw their way. And nestled snugly within the belly of the beast was a lightning-fast 1TB SSD, its silent whispers promising swift load times and snappy system responsiveness. But it was the crown jewel of my rig—the RTX 2070 SUPER GPU—that truly set it apart. With its ray-tracing prowess and blistering rendering speeds, it transformed every pixel into a masterpiece, bringing my virtual worlds to life with unparalleled beauty and realism. Together, we embarked on a journey unlike any other, a journey into the heart of gaming and streaming glory. From the darkest dungeons to the farthest reaches of outer space, we traversed virtual landscapes with skill and determination, our every triumph and defeat broadcast to an eager audience of fellow adventurers. But it wasn't just about the games—it was about the connection. With my powerful rig, I streamed in crystal-clear HD, my every word and gesture captured with stunning clarity. And as I interacted with my viewers, sharing stories and swapping strategies, I felt a sense of camaraderie unlike anything I'd ever known.$886.96 -

Mostly new parts but bought CPU and case with fans second hand and a few things on deals or with coupons savings money. Putting it together was very easy after watching videos and reading manuals. Just need to take time and be firm but delicate with parts. As for bios settings, using Intel POR helps keep everything cool and playing games with no hassle. The Gigabyte Aorus Z790 Master X using Intel's 14700k CPU and Sapphire's 7900 xtx 24GB GPU has brought my gaming into the front lines of 2024. I currently play games like GTA V online, MWIII, Minecraft, and a little W.O.W. I haven't started streaming yet, but this was built with the best experience in mind. This machine should last me for the next 8+ years with enough capabilities to easily be relevant until the end. Without getting too deep into the metrics, I am able to run MWIII at maximum settings and still avg. ~230 FPS. I am only using dual 1080p monitors by the way, but that is going to be upgraded to 4k monitors to match the quality of my new build. On the side, I have an older model Yamaha receiver, HTR-6240, a 5.1 channel Surround sound experience like no other on a desktop PC.$2,837.86 -

This was my very first gaming computer I ever had, assembled from leftover components and an old case from a prebuilt computer. It was with this device that I survived quarantine and managed to grow closer to my friends over discord. I'm submitting this form to help pay for my first solo PC build, which will replace this six-year old machine. If i remember this right, it's been over 13 years since I've built my first (and only) desktop PC, so I came into this one a little bit rusty and barely any experience. Since then, I mostly just used consoles for gaming, considering that first PC was VERY low end, but i finally got the courage to step into the "master race" once again. After a lot of catching up and a bunch of youtube videos, yet another Fractal North build was born... All jokes aside, I don't remember having as much fun doing something in the last few years, as I had building this thing from the ground up! I wanted to create a high-end gaming PC that would leave even the most serious gamers, streamers, and simulators in awe. The sleek white design with the custom Corsair Water Loop gives it a sophisticated look. And let's not forget the stunning Lian Li Strimer Plus RGB extension cables that add a touch of brilliance to the setup. But the real showstopper is the white Radeon RX 7900xtx Hellhound Spectral, which truly completes the aesthetic. Its power and performance are unmatched, delivering an immersive gaming experience like no other. To make this PC not just a powerhouse but also a work of art, I opted for the 128GB G Skill z5 Trident Memory. This not only ensures lightning-fast speeds but also adds a touch of elegance to the overall design. From its impressive specs to its breathtaking visuals, this gaming PC is a true masterpiece. Never built a system before so was excited to put something together with a top of the line GPU and CPU combo. All items were purchased within around a week, taking advantage of some online Black Friday sales This system is primarily for gaming, and some video editing, I've paired it with a LG 32GP750 1440p 165Hz monitor, I also have it hooked up to a 55" Sony X90k to run 4k 120Hz. No complaints putting everything together, the popular Corsair 4000D was super easy for install and had more than ample room for the huge 7900XTX, also no crazy RGB here, just simple and neat. Temps have been good so far, the Peerless Assassin cooler is plenty, I have yet to see temps run past about 70c with gaming use. There's definitely coil whine coming from the GPU during intensive gameplay, can be annoying but not a huge deal when you have your volume up or headphones in.$2,027.92 -

The main goal of this build was to get a high-performance gaming experience while still being extremely capable of running intense productivity workloads. Since my last build was also extremely loud with 12+ fans in the Antec LanBoy Air case, I set out to build something that would be significantly quieter while gaming and succeeded. This system is also intended to be ultra reliable, requiring only periodic dusting for maintenance, and highly upgradeable over the next few years as needed. Built this PC to upgrade from my old laptop, mostly play competitive FPS games (Overwatch 2, VALORANT) and I will also use it for university work (majoring in computer science). I've done some video editing as well, so I might do that too. No plans for upgrades for now, but I could probably have saved on RAM and SSD and upgraded the GPU. Definitely happy with the 7900XTX though and it fits the theme very well.$2,809.90 -

It’s a msi z790 ddr5 wifi edge, i7 12700k, Radeon 7900 xtx taichi, 64gb Corsair vengeance, 13 uni fans ( you can’t see the last 3 they are on top of the radiator for a push pull configuration ) deep cool ls720 aio, 10tb of Samsung 980 pro nvme and powering it all is a Corsair 1000rmx. This pc is used for games like apex, fortnite, and pretty much every triple a title at 4K. For now I’m very happy with the performance and looks the only thing I see myself changing is the cpu for an I9 13900k but that’s for another day.$2,174.92 -

I've always wanted to build my own tower since I was a kid so here it is. My first. It's obviously built for gaming but can also be easily utilized for other purposes. Yes I know!! I cheaped out on the motherboard... probably a future upgrade but this one is perfectly fine for now. The build itself didn't take that long, the fan/rgb hub in the case was wired incorrectly and took me way too long than it should to figure it out. LOL I GOT IT!!! Occasionally on my days off I will stream alone or with friends who may also stream. If you're interested my tag is Terror666Billy and yes I follow/support back. Not setup for video right now but will use the mic if there's some chat happening. I'm not ready to take the plastic off the glass panel yet so, sorry for the slight blur in the pictures.$2,409.92 -

I choose the 5800 X3D and 7900 XTX because it's blazing fast for games at 4K resolution. I currently can play any game at the highest settings which buttery smooth frames rates at 4K. It blows my mind how beautiful games have such high graphic fidelity with games like Resident Evil 4 remake, God of War, Hogwarts Legacy and Street Fighter 4 .$1,859.90 -

Maxing out what AMD has to offer gaming wise in early 2023 with other parts chosen to achieve that while not going overboard with budget, other goals were to try get a smaller case with no glass panels due to the owner's preferences. Pretty simple selection logic but in my opinion it's a good template to go by for people wanting a similar build. As a side note, getting a cheaper 7900 XTX would be a good way to save money but in this case I decided spending more for a card with better cooling would be beneficial for people that do close to no maintenance on their PCs, as it should help with longevity in general.$2,810.94 -

I have been a console gamer for my whole life because I only had a junk laptop and can't run anything on it. A lot of my friends built their own gaming PC, and I had chance to play on it. It was a whole another experience playing the same game on PC! The graphic and the smoothness in unparalleled! So I decided to build one myself. Because this PC is for gaming, I decided to go with high end GPU and my friend recommended it. I picked up a 7900xtx. I handles all the game I tried in 4k very well! Overall, I am very happy with my first build.$3,299.94
