They don’t use it heavily for gaming. It’s been a while since I last built one. I just wanted to build it and have something nice to look at on my table. So far, I’ve only been playing Fortnite on it, but I plan to start getting more games soon.

And in this industry strong computers are needed to carry out rendering and processing the animation. So I thought why settle for buying the whole computer set up when I can pool my resources and put together on of the most powerful computers in the market. I took inspiration from performance over presentation, I took the strongest parts in the market I could afford and had them put together into The Monolith. It may not be eye candy but it’s sure as heck is powerfull

As a kid, I always wanted to have a gaming pc of my own, where I could crush any game I wanted and push the limits of performance. My build started in 2017, and I saved every penny I could find to afford it. It's carried me throughout the years to today, with some upgrades of course. Originally, the build consisted of an Intel Core i5-7600K, MSI Z270 Gaming M7, ASUS GTX 1070 STRIX OC, Samsung 850 PRO, and a Seagate Barracuda 2TB. I play indie games like Lethal Company and Undertale, and big games like Battlefield 2042, Mortal Kombat 1, Five Nights at Freddy's, and VRChat. Throughout the time I spent building my pc, I wish I had purchased the parts at once instead of incrementally buying a part when it was possible. I could've gotten newer hardware had I done the former. In the future, I definitely would like to get a 2TB NVME SSD to replace my Seagate hard drive, and upgrade to 32GB of DDR4 ram. I also foresee a switch to the AMD Ryzen 7000 processor line.

I needed something that would take nearly anything I threw at it and not miss a beat. I like to multitask while editing photos and usually have a few different programs open at once for my workflow and really need a system that would be able to handle this and render the changes made while editing, same thing for when I'm working on editing videos. When I'm not working, I do enjoy some pretty heavy gaming. 4k was not a huge worry to me, as I would have to update my monitors, but also wanted a rig that would run the AAA titles at 2k and provide a great experience. I have also recently gotten into Sim Racing and wanted a system that I could move into VR with if I wanted to. This build checked all of the boxes for me and I am very happy with the results. I have not found anything that I would have done different at this point. The build has blown me away and I am very happy with it!

This PC was built with no specific purpose other than do anything my busy mind decides to focus on at any moment. I do business, photography, gaming, video editing, streaming and race sim / vr all from this bad boy. Slowly upgrading parts over time allows me to stay on top of the trends but I think I found a point where an upgrade isn't necessary (unless 3080s become easily in stock) I'll try to get better pictures later lol

I built this pc to get into video editing, music creation, heavy gaming and streaming. I dont have any channels yet but im working on it. I got the idea to make a pc after watching bitwit and austin evans make custom pcs inside microcenter and when i found out i live only 1 hour away from microcenter i started planning my build, obssessively checking if motherboards were in stock (the board i was looking for kept getting reserved and sold out). Then one day i see they got a shipment and so i put the items in the cart and reserve them. I only reserved the motherboard and cpu because i was afraid they would sell out. So i planned a small trip with my gf to this store an hour away. At first i was just going to leave with the parts i reserved but walking into the store i saw an opportunity to grab almost everything (excluding graphics card more on that later) for a lot cheaper than i would get in other places and instantly instead of waiting on shipping. Luckily my brother upgraded his computer a couple years back so we had an extra graphics card laying around collecting dust so i decided to wait on the gc, insert the old asus r9 380 and keep looking at microcenter for a good time to upgrade. And thats what i would use this money for. I was looking at getting a rtx 2070 super but with the money i would be saving i can shoot for a 2080 ti! Thanks for reading -Billy Juarez Proud owner of a new pc :) -edit added powersupply to complete build isnt exact model but specs are the same added graphics card i would like to buy (to see full price of build)

I sold my last system (Mad Hatter) the week the Ryzen 3000 series came out. But I didn't have a case to put the new cpu and mobo into. So I made my own makeshift 'test bench-esque' case with random things I happened to have. A few months later, a buddy of mine was finishing up some home projects and I asked him to make me a T frame with any left over wood he had. Fast forward 9 months later, and I finally got the chance to start this project. CPU/MOBO/RAM - Purchased from Microcenter 7/7/19. SSD/HDD - My previous configuration had too many drives. So I got the NVME ssd for the essentials and two 2tb hdds, one for games the other for recordings. GPU - A reason to give my old GTX 1080 to my g/f. CPU Cooler - I knew I wanted to go back to air with this build. I didn't realize this cooler was... this big. CASE - Extra wood a buddy had left over after making a shelf. Extras - Acrylics and Acrylic bender from Performance-PCS. I originally planned this to also have a handle. I purchased the MNPC Tech cnc handles. But as I was building, I realized how heavy this would be. So I'll save those for the next/smaller build. **June Update** Replaced the acrylic panel below the gpu with a wider version. The gpu now looks sad at night. Build Log - https://imgur.com/a/olub8eT Improvised Build - https://imgur.com/a/HmowHWa _________________________________________ Uses - Gaming, Video editing, Streaming, and Sim racing.
