Plus, it also works pretty great as a gaming PC. I want this workstation to perform the best and reduce the rendering time while processing my animation project, so I went ahead and picked up a 4090 for this setup because it's pretty much the best out there. After testing it out on a project I was currently working on, I am very happy I made this decision. The rendering time was almost cut in half compared to my old workstation with a 2080ti.$4,719.92 -

Paired with a 144hz monitor, it delivers excellent performance in GPU and CPU intensive games. Played through Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty 2.0 with ray tracing on low and native 1440p (no upscaling) and was able to get a solid 60 (sometimes more depending on location). I owned a prebuilt gaming pc before deciding to get all my parts from Micro Center and to build a new pc myself. The types of games I play vary, such as playing visual novels, RPGs/JRPGs, FPS games, sandbox games, puzzle games, and etc. Therefore, I preferred to aim towards building a mid-range gaming pc that can satisfy both the non-intensive and intensive games that I play. This is my first ever pc that I built and overall I am proud of it. I play a wide variety of single player games and like games with nice graphics so they are often demanding. Recent games I played include Horizon Zero Dawn, Plague Tale Requiem, and Witcher 3. I play on a 1440p high refresh rate monitor and the 6900 XT has had no trouble delivering 100+ for basically every game I played. It was a nice upgrade over my RTX 3070 although I do miss some of the Nvidia features like DLSS. The 6900 XT is a lot faster though and has 16 GB of VRAM. It even does pretty well in ray traced games. The 13700k is a really powerful CPU probably even overkill for gaming. However it wasn't much more than the 13600k and is helpful on the rare occasions I do rendering or certain data analytics that can utilize a lot of cores/threads. I also really like the Lian LI 205 mesh case I was able to get open box at Micro Center. The RGB fans are nice and it has great airflow. I also like that its not too large, but still able to fit most GPUs. Most of the other parts are standard although I do wish I waited before getting a 4 TB SSD. Prices are much lower now than they were last year.$1,627.96 -

My old pc served me well for 7 years, longest I've ever gotten out of one before, but it was time for an upgrade. Started playing Diablo 4 with my friends and my old pc just couldn't keep up. Went from an i5-4450 cpu, Asus H97P mobo, Asus Strix GeForce GTX 970 gpu, 24gb of Kingston HyperX FURY ram to this new build and am very impressed so far. This is also my first build in over 20 years that I have booted up on the 1st try with no problems like forgetting to plug something in, which I largely contribute to having a fully modular PSU. Only thing I'm missing at the moment is adding 2 140mm fans to the top of the case which I'll be doing soon, once my fingers heal from this install.$1,601.88 -

After having bought a 1440p monitor, I was still using a laptop with a 1660ti GPU that was unable to fully utilize this monitor's gaming capability. I wanted a PC that was powerful and in line with the current generation of hardware because I wanted it to last me a long time, and to be capable of working with me no matter what my next ambition is. While initially building this PC, I had an EVGA AIO cooler ready to use for the CPU, however, the case I was using couldn't fit the radiator anywhere. So I ended up trading in that cooler for a DeepCool AK620 at microcenter, and since then it works perfectly. However, just several weeks later I replaced the case as well since the old one did not provide enough airflow and temps were still relatively high. If I had known beforehand that I would get a case that would better fit an AIO cooler, I wish I would've kept it.$1,510.78 -

I mostly use it just to put up my school projects and such but I have recently started putting up more personal short films. Once I built it though I got into gaming pretty quickly and I’m having a lot of fun playing halo mostly but also some valorant. I absolutely want to go with custom water cooling within the next couple of months but I think before I do I want to change the case to an nzxt H9, this case is a little small for that at the moment. I changed the theme pretty often at first but I think I’ve settled on this one that was inspired by namor from wakanda forever as you can see from the pops. My highschool had a two week course where we could learn and build our own computers, we had a budget of 500$ and the choice to add extra from our own money. This is my first build and I am very happy with how it turned out. Using our budgets, I bought the 400$ bundle at Micro Center that contained, Intel Core i9 12900K, ASUS Prime Z790-V WIFI motherboard, and the G.skill Ripjaw 32 Gb 2 x 16 ram. Additionally, I got a PowerSpec PS 650GSM 650 W power supply, a DeepCool AG400, and a Seagate Laptop Thin 500 GB 7200RPM SATA 6 GB/s 32 MB Cache 2.5 Inch Hard Disk Drive. Using my own money, I bought a Inland X1 black case, two Inland TN320 NVMe M.2 storage SSD's, and a Nvidia RTX 3050. I am very thankful I took this course and I am very content with how my PC turned out, it runs most games I play at high to max graphics (I mostly play RTS such as Men of War or Total War games). The total cost of this build was roughly 800$ USD with me paying around 270$ from my own pocket.$1,122.93 -
