I've wanted to build a gaming PC since last August, and now I've done it. It's much better than I first planned. The primary reason for this PC is for gaming, so deciding which GPU to get is important. It's the first part I brought. I ended up with the RX 7800 XT because it's enough for the type of game I play and it was on sale. Building this PC was surprisingly easy with the help of YouTube video guides. Overall, I am really happy with the result.$1,330.93 -

Recently, my old system with an Intel i7-4790k and a GTX 1070ti broke down. I tried for 2 days but could not get it to boot pass window start up loading screen. It's because of that and how outdated it is of a system, I decided to upgrade to a new system. I mostly just doing some lite web browsing as well as doing spreadsheet and video calling. I used to game but since my PC couldn't keep up with the new games as well as life gotten busier I stopped gaming. However, with this new machine of a beast. Every game that I tested now can do well above 100fps with games that goes to the 200fps. So hopefully I can dive back into gaming soon. I went with and Ryzen 7 5800x and ROG Strix B550 motherboard as well as an Radeon RX 7800 XT with the NZXT H6 Flow housing. I know this doesn't have much of an upgrade ability beside from going to the 5800x3d and possibly better GPU however because I want an all-white esthetic and AM4 is the cheapest to go for it.$1,499.92 -

This was a budget build I did for a friend, keeping cost in mind, but also a clean look and decent performance. The combination of Ryzen 5600 with RX 6600 is amazing, giving me over 200fps on fortnite (performance mode) on a 1080p, for the budget, this is an amazing build, still looking cool and modern. Sadly, all prices went up in microcenter a month later and I'm not able to replicate this build, the cheapest I could find was a Ryzen 5500 with GTX 1660 Super and a B450 board, paying over $50 on tob of this build, too sad.$664.91 -

I recently built my first gaming PC, sourcing parts online and getting some help from a MicroCenter employee to put it all together. It's been an eye-opening experience, especially since I've primarily been a console gamer before this. The difference in gaming is like night and day. Even older titles look completely different on this rig. I couldn't resist going back and playing the Dead Space trilogy, and it's like I'm playing these games for the first time. I was running on a 10 year old hp computer that could barely run games over 50 fps. I decided it was time for a upgrade without breaking the bank, and still could end up lasting for give or take 5-7 years. This computer is for those looking for price to performance and those who are used to the AMD environment. Some of these parts I have used in this setup are used components such as the motherboard which I got for around 80 dollars and the cpu which I got for $160 used. NOTE: as there is oddly no cpu water cooling kits option, here is the model (Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360L) which is $120 dollars.$1,221.96 -

Built because old system would not take Windows 11 and the graphics card was not sufficient for Bethesda's upcoming title Starfield. The case is large enough to take my DVD player and to "hide" most of the drives "under" the motherboard. With four fans (3 intake and 1 exhaust) it has plenty of cooling for the CPU and Graphics card. Moterboard WiFi antenna included has two "micro" coax connectors and cable is too short for good under-desk placement of tower. Top has the on-off button, color mode button, audio ports and 2 USB 3 type A ports. Top ports are USB 3.0 but inside is not blue. Gray on black writing is not a favorite due to lack of contrast.$1,124.94 -

An aesthetic-focused mid range gaming rig with room to grow and upgrade, designed for my wife. Definitely not winning any awards for the price-to-performance ratio, but I intentionally specced around some components (like the white, way more wattage than needed power supply and 32 GB of RGB RAM) based around looks and not needing to be upgraded later, with other components (like the RX 6600) being obvious targets for future upgrades. If anyone wanted to emulate this build while still going somewhat aesthetically pleasing, I'd go with the black version of the case, no RGB RAM (and also only 16 GB), get a single normal fan for rear exhaust instead of the RGB 3 pack, different power supply, no wifi card (if you don't need it, we did), and just use the stock heat sink for the 5600. With those changes, this would be a killer bang-for-buck build. As it is, I fully accept the higher cost in exchange for better looks and great accessories.$1,223.86 -

Main reason I decided to get this PC was because I really wanted to play Escape from Tarkov and stream it as well. Recently I've gotten away from Tarkov and have mostly been learning Squad, which I also stream here and there. So far those are the main games I've played so far but in the future I plan on getting some sim racing gear so I can get into IRacing and Assetto Corsa. Finally, I make music as a hobby and this build handles all my plugins like a champ and can record vocals with virtually no latency (2-3ms) while running autotune. Love this machine!$1,404.92 -

I was skeptical I could get the 6950XT in the 205m without it overheating - however, utilizing the Quiet mode on board bios setting, with max of 284w to GPU… my temps are insanely stable and even cool (for this card). 98% stress test on 3D Mark & max juncture temp of 93 Celsius during this test (80c high cur). Back in 2014, I purchased what would be the underlying bones of my currently updated gaming rig. It started as an i5-4670k 3.4Ghz/ASRock Z87 Extreme3/GeForce GTX 770 system. All those parts have been replaced three times over now, but the case, drives, and PSU have all stayed. In 2017 I swapped out the GTX 770 for a Gigabyte GTX 1080 which I've kept up until now. In 2020, I moved from Intel to AMD, removing the i5 and installing a Ryzen 5 3600X/Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, while maintaining the 1080 GPU. With prices falling and new GPUs coming out I waited until this past week when both the Ryzen 7 and the 6950XT were discounted 30% and 36% respectively on Amazon. I was going to go with an AIO cooling solution but wasn't sure my case would accommodate it, so researched and wound up with the Deepcool which just fit inside the 3000. Just fired it up and it's running smoothly so far, even the transition from Nvidia to AMD went without a hitch using DDU software. Since the case is rather plain and offers no view of the interior, I've never gone in for any RGB stuff. The only thing that lights up is the GPU and I didn't select it for that.$1,456.91 -

I put it together to be a gaming PC and maybe use it for CAD work in the future. Everything in the build went very well. And I can't believe how much better my games are now. The temperatures are good and everything seems to run fine. My only hiccup was that the USB-C on the front I/O requires an adapter to connect to this motherboard. Not a huge deal but if I had known, I probably would have spent a bit more money on a fully compatible motherboard. Overall I'm super happy with how everything turned out. I built this PC mainly for 1440p gaming and as a workstation that is within my budget. I have had a laptop for approximately 6 years and it was my only means of doing work or gaming. It was on it's last leg i.e. throttling all the time, poor battery performance, and choppy video calls. I have always wanted to build a PC but I have felt that the process is overwhelming. There is a lot of information out there and all the parts are really expensive which has always made me feel like anytime I would try to learn about the PC building process, I was always upsold on a product that was beyond my needs. However, my roommates have built PCs in the past and my current location is close to a Micro Center and all of these wonderful people helped me understand which parts suited my needs for performance as well as my limited budget. Also I wanted to take advantage of some really good sales happening right now!$1,107.93
