I built this gaming machine for myself a couple of years ago as a gift for myself for my birthday. I had a prebuilt up until this point and I upgraded some choice parts for it (memory, storage, power supply) but I really wanted to see if I was able to build a computer from scratch. My build proved very successful, and I still use it to this day.

I didn't want to sacrifice aesthetic or performance. Not only is this build super good looking it stays frigid cold and is near silent in operation. I bought almost all the parts from Microcenter (availability permitting). I also have the lian li RGB PSU cables but am in the process of moving so I haven't pop them in yet. With a MSI 3080 GPU and AMD 5900X this PC handles most games on ultra at 1440p 144Hz. I play a lot of Valorant, but I have been playing may co-op and multiplayer games such as A Way Out, It Takes Two, Dead by Daylight, and Hell Let Loose.

I got fed up with my old MacBook and finally decided to build a PC for myself this year. I started gathering parts in July 2021 and got the system to post the following month. Most of the parts I got on sale through Newegg and Micro Center, and the motherboard was the one part I bought secondhand. I built this system for Battlefield 2042 and 1440p high refresh rate gaming. I also plan to use this to learn how to code/program; I want to get into a coding bootcamp to start a new career in tech. I may also use this for streaming, video editing or music production eventually. For a first time build, I'm pretty happy with how this system turned out. Let me know what you guys think as well as what can be improved to make this system even better. Thanks!

Introducing my latest creation, a build that combines power, efficiency, and aesthetics to cater to both my professional and personal computing needs. At the heart of this machine is the mighty Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core CPU, coupled with NVIDIA RTX A4000 workstation GPU, 64GB of 3200MHz RAM, all nestled mostly* inside the sleek and compact Fractal Terra Mini case. Why I Built It: As a manufacturing engineer, I work extensively with software and require a system that can effortlessly manage complex modeling in SolidWorks and render Unreal Engine graphics. Simultaneously, as a lifelong gaming enthusiast, I wanted a rig capable of delivering unparalleled gaming experiences. From my daily work routines to unwinding with the latest AAA titles, this build fits the bill. This rig has transformed my workflow, enabling faster render times, smoother gaming experiences, and overall improved efficiency. Professional Work: In my profession, time and precision are of the essence. Whether it's modeling intricate designs in SolidWorks or handling software integral to manufacturing engineering, the synergy of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000 makes my work more efficient and enjoyable. Gaming: As a gamer, I wanted a system that can conquer the latest AAA titles and provide immersive gameplay. With the powerful combination of Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA RTX A4000, I've been playing games like Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and NFS Heat at ultra-high settings without breaking a sweat. Modeling and Graphics: For my professional pursuits, this build shines in applications like SolidWorks, where precision and performance are paramount. Unreal Engine graphics projects come to life like never before, rendering in real-time and allowing me to explore my creativity in new dimensions. Future Upgrades & Hindsight: In the future, I might explore adding expanded storage capacity to accommodate larger projects. Overall, I am ecstatic with the result. Conclusion: This build is more than just a computer; it's a reflection of my professional life as a manufacturing engineer and my love for gaming and technology. It's a hub for creativity, relaxation, and connection, playing a central role in my daily life. I welcome fellow engineers, gamers, and enthusiasts to share their thoughts, insights, or simply join in the conversation. Let's connect and continue to innovate!

Generally whenever I do what I consdider to be a major hardware swap or build, it's time to move the number count up. First personal build was in 1998. Last build has lasted me just over 5 years. I figured it's time to replace MOBO, CPU and other components to get myself up to date as well still being able to reuse some core components of my current setup. Went with a 11th Gen Intel and 590 MOBO to be able to utilize my existing sets of DDR4. Excited to get this up and running. Outside of the case, this will be a total Micro Center build as I've got to support the hometown company (Columbus). I'm reusing 2 key parts from my earlier 2016 build - Video Card and RAM. Not wanting to rush into a GPU upgrade just yet due to pricing, but maybe someday I'll get a 3080... Case is extremely clean and easy to work with. As you can tell, this is a work in progress build. System is fully installed and updated with Win10 Pro, just waiting for a good time to switch out full time. Until then, GPU was pulled again and back on old system. It's hard to justify not reusing my 64GB of RAM. Plans are to pull 32GB out of my existing build to use in this build until I can transition my old build over to be my camera DVR system. This will also be my first build where I don't bother with an optical drive. After 25 years of building systems, It's time to move on. Call me a old fogey builder, but I still work with air cooled and love these Noctua fans. My previous build has one and some extra fans I also picked up locally. Not exactly a fan of the case having a glass side, but that's fine, case will be in an area where side panel won't be seen and I won't be running RGB, etc but, with all the RGB hookups though on the MOBO, who knows, maybe that will change. I was able to get this from Amazon Warehouse deals and it was basically brand new. I'm fairly certain it was never opened, just a small amount of warehouse damage to the exterior box. Will add finished product photos once up and fully running. Also will pull 1 or 2 HDs from my current build to move to this. After the holidays, this will get into production.
