My daughter wanted a better computer and since she helps me upgrade mine from time to time she wanted to build her own. We told her if she could keep it around 500.00 budget we'd help her, so we scoured forums and youtube videos for less expensive builds. We found Toasty Bros there, and they in turn directed us to microcenter where we found a very nice cpu/motherboard/ram combo. with the combo and new case we came in around $570. She got her wish and I got a great father-daughter moment to cherish the rest of my life. :D$574.95 -

I built it because my laptop just wasn't cutting it performance-wise when it came to running several virtual machines at a time for testing purposes. I also like the modularity of PCs which you can't really get in a laptop. Since I only have Intel integrated graphics and an RX 550, I don't play very demanding games, typically just some Minecraft or Terraria. I also run Linux, but need Windows for certain applications, like some games, but I'd rather not have to fully reboot into a bare-metal windows installation every time I need to run a single high-performance application. Because of this, I pass my RX 550 through to a Windows virtual machine in order to achieve almost bare-metal performance along with the convenience of being able to quickly boot up and shut down a virtual machine.$808.42 -

I have the money for a mid range pc gaming rig but since at the time I had no idea what I was doing I went for the safest options. My main goal was 1440p high fps gaming in pretty much any game I play on the PC. As well as building a pc that was upgradable but was still not going to need upgrading anytime soon. I started with a ryzen 5 7500f that was ordered through AliExpress as it’s not available in the states. Then it was just a matter of building outward from there. Gigabyte Aorus B650m elite ax. Corsair vengeance 5200 2x16 ram. ID cooling single tower air cooler. 1tb team group gen 4 SSD. 2 tb Samsung 970 pro gen 3 2 tb ssd. Corsair 750 watt power supply. Asus tuf rx7800xt. In a deep cool cc360 argb case. I’m only just now getting into actually using it but it is great so far.$1,164.97 -

I wanted to use minimal RGB, so the parts wouldn’t be extremely saturated with RGB, and so I could play more comfortably at night. I chose these parts with a $1300 budget in mind. There were definitely things I believe I could’ve done to improve the build, such as a PSU without daisy-chained PCIE connectors, but it’s the price you pay for a quality unit, I suppose.$1,213.11 -

I am playing Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Avatar now. Probably more later. I really am glad to have gone all AMD with it. the processor and graphics cards are basically sleeping even while playing on high graphics mode. I sometimes have the performance view of task manager up and I've yet to crack 50% usage. Only thing I may have done differently is a different motherboard. It works fine, but it tried to install a manager that did NOT work. when installed it froze the computer after running. I had to boot into safe mode to get rid of it by deleting manually and removing from the registry. Trying to uninstall froze everything as well. So DON"T install the gigabyte management software.$1,269.94 -

I've wanted to build a gaming PC since last August, and now I've done it. It's much better than I first planned. The primary reason for this PC is for gaming, so deciding which GPU to get is important. It's the first part I brought. I ended up with the RX 7800 XT because it's enough for the type of game I play and it was on sale. Building this PC was surprisingly easy with the help of YouTube video guides. Overall, I am really happy with the result.$1,330.93
