The aim of this build was a white, upper mid-tier gaming machine with a smaller footprint with a price point under $1500. This was my first time working with the Micro ATX format, I'm happy to be able to start building smaller, lighter machines. The Jonsbo case worked quite well and was overall pretty easy to work with and had plenty of room for everything (the GPU and 140mm bottom mounted case fans were the most difficult parts). The wiring is a bit of a mess, but it's mostly hidden behind the SSD panel. The look could be improved a bit with white power supply cables and perhaps some better finagling of the GPU power connector, but it's fine for us as is.$1,524.92 -

The primary motivation for updating this build was to move to Intel's socket 1700. I wanted to get established with a relatively affordable cpu so I chose the 12400. I can upgrade to a 13th gen chip down the road. The 12400 holds its own in gaming though. It hasn't held back performance from my 6700 at all so far.$1,229.92 -

This was all new parts bought from MicroCenter with the exception of the GPU - bought second hand from Facebook Marketplace for $270. The 12400 is a GREAT CPU, and I think I won the silicon lottery since it got over 12,000 on Cinebench. The 3060ti is perfect for my 1440 gaming, and paired with 16GB of 3600mhz RAM at CL16, it is buttery smooth.$936.94 -

Bought and built this to primarily play games and to finally have a machine that can handle all current gen title games at 1080p. Games like Apex Legends and Halo Infinite all hold a framerate well above 144hz at the highest graphic settings with no problems as well as keeping cool. This computer also allowed me to be able to record my gameplay in high quality using OBS thanks to NVIDIA'S nvenc encoder in part to the 3060 RTX. Video editing programs such as adobe premiere also run well to edit footage together to create youtube compilations of the many games I play. Eventually upgraded the storage on the computer with SSD drives which was easy due to the microATX motherboard being in a ATX size case for ease of building as well as the case having drivebays on the back panel of the computer.$1,137.92 -

I built this pc in the middle of covid during the graphics card shortage. I bought everything besides the gpu first and ran on integrated graphics because it was good enough for games like valorant and csgo. A few months later I bought a graphics card. This is used nearly exclusively for 1440p @144hz gaming, but also some light university work. After using a very mid laptop for 3 years, I built this Desktop and now I'm enjoying my titles at high settings and high refresh rates. My Temperatures on the CPU max out at 58°C even in benchmarks. with the fans spinning at just under 1000rpm. The Arctic fans are much more quiet than the fan included in the case, so I think those were a great investment.$1,439.13 -

I got a new job that's 100% work-from-home but doesn't provide me with a computer, so I needed to build a new one in a hurry and on a bit of a budget. I re-used as many components as I could from the desktop I built 15 years ago, and then have slowly swapped them out as I've had time to shop for new modern replacements. At this point, nearly the only original piece left is the case (which is a gigantic monstrosity compared to my modern needs-- when I built in this case in 2005, I needed space for six HDDs and *FOUR* optical drives!), but that will get replaced by a modern micro-ATX case soon enough.$1,144.89
