The total build cost excluding the monitor is around $1,250. This setup can run recent releases in 4K with reasonable FPS! In Baldurs Gate 3, I was able to get constant 100+ FPS in a 4K ultra DLSS graphic setting. 180+ FPS can also be achieved in 2K resolution.$1,247.94 -

I originally decided to build a high-performance gaming PC for playing Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six Siege with my friends. My previous computer was barely able to run R6 at a stable 1080p60 so it was definitely time for an upgrade. The centerpiece of this build is the Ryzen 7 5700X Processor. I stumbled upon an incredible deal for this CPU online, a lucky find considering its robust performance and typically high demand. For the CPU, I chose the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Cooler for its efficiency and the Asus B550M-A Motherboard for its reliability and features. The cooler itself had a very high amount of reviews and given its price, it has been performing fantastically. The memory, G.SKill's Ripjaws, also has not been giving me any issues at all 32GB is large enough to give me the headroom to run virtually any program I need. Storage was an easy choice, I went with the 970 Evo Plus for its insanely fast data transfer rates and reliability. I decided to go with the 970 over 980 for cost reasons alone, the performance was pretty comparable for my standards either way. The most difficult decision was the graphics card, and I ended up with a ASUS RTX 4070 and so far I have no complaints, and I don't plan to overclock for the time being. For the case I went with the Lian Li LANCOOL 205M, and I selected it for its mesh front and focus on airflow. This build was a long journey of finding the right parts at the right price, particularly the CPU, which was a lucky find that definitely boosts the value and performance of the entire computer's setup.$1,149.83 -

Everything was brought at a discount! I started building it right after I got home! It took me a day and a half to put everything together since I am a first-time PC builder, but nonetheless, it was done! After installing the operating system and the drivers, I played some games to test the performance. The graphic was remarkable and smooth. In BF2042, I hit 120+ FPS on high graphic settings. In the future, I am going to tweak the setting a little more and see what I can get from this setup, but so far, I am very pleased with it.$1,564.95 -

I recently built my first gaming PC, sourcing parts online and getting some help from a MicroCenter employee to put it all together. It's been an eye-opening experience, especially since I've primarily been a console gamer before this. The difference in gaming is like night and day. Even older titles look completely different on this rig. I couldn't resist going back and playing the Dead Space trilogy, and it's like I'm playing these games for the first time. The high FPS and refresh rate make me realize how much I was missing out on with my previous gaming setup.$1,421.93 -
