Bought my first prebuilt budget gaming pc in 2020 with i5-10400F, GTX 1660 Super 6GB, 16GB RAM DDR4 2666MHz and 1TB SATA SSD to play FPS games (Valorant, COD, R6). After 5 years, it could barely run cyberpunk and frostpunk at 1080p 60fps on medium setting without ray tracing, so I decided to invest into a mid-high ends custom pc built with the help of my buddy who recommended me to buy discounted bundle parts on Micro Center website and build it at home to save money for better parts.$1,279.92 -

Had an older rig (i7-6700k, GTX 1070) that I wanted to upgrade from, especially since a coworker agreed to buy it. So I went to Microcener and got all the parts except for the GPU (purchased used). I use it for gaming in 1440p, mostly Halo Infinite and PUBG, emulation, and I plan on buying the FF7 Remake and RE4 remake to play in 1440p as well. I also do some sim racing in Asseto Corsa. I have also tossed around the idea of streaming, but that hasn't panned out yet.$1,354.94 -

Decided it was time to upgrade my ancient prebuilt pc, so I can play latest games without making graphic compromises. It works well so far. Plays Oblivion remastered smoothly at high graphical settings. I have waited for this remaster for so long. Playing it in HD makes it all worth it.$1,887.42 -

There is no way I would spend 20% or even 50% markup for it. Got a used 7800xt from a friend for $200. He upgraded to RTX 5080, so he doesn't need it anymore. 7800 xt has 16gb vram. It should last me a couple of years. Hopefully, the shortage will get better by then. Other than that little fuss, I am pretty happy with this build.$1,209.93 -

When I was pricing out components, I came across a particular combo from Microcenter that was too good to pass up. Even though it took me 3 hours of round trip driving, it was easily the best option for me as it knocked out my processor, motherboard, and ddr5 in one fell swoop. And so with a nod to anyone else who ever played/watched competitive Smash, I call this my wombo combo. In Rainbow 6 Siege (1440p resolution) I am able to max out my 185Hz monitor. In hindsight, well I wish I was able to buy one of the new rtx 5080's. But since that appeared impossible the few times I made an attempt, I am rolling with my vanilla 4070 for now.$1,162.92 -

I built this PC for gaming because of the parts that I picked and this PC has came a long way with me and I am very happy and grateful for having this with me for future upgrades I might upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 9 9700x and the motherboard to get the maximum performance I can get. I'm so happy for taking all my time with this PC and saving up to build this amazing build.$1,522.92 -
