Ryzen 3600+Gigabyte B450M DS3H WiFi+Radeon RX6400 low-profile in a Dell Optiplex 990 case. Front panel USB has been swapped from factory wiring to generic USB 3 connectors using the stock USB port locations. Power switch and indicator light were rewired using standard wiring. Built for streaming services and light gaming. RAM is Neo Forza Faye 16GB dual channel DDR4-3000 I had in the parts bin. SSD is a WD Blue SN570 500GB PCI-E 3.0x4 device. PSU is a Solid Gear TFX unit, as the stock Dell unit didn't have enough power on the 12-volt rail for the CPU and GPU. (I also set the CPU to "Eco Mode" so I have more head room on the 12-volt rail.) Heaven runs an average of 52FPS at 1080p ultra with extreme tessellation. Forest Benchmark was running at between 70 and 85 fps. Sackboy's Big Adventure runs 1080p 60 fps framelocked with raytraced shadows and all other settings on high. And yes, the optical drive still works.$395.94 -

I am going to fix it up when I upgrade my heatsink. It's currently on stock heatsink that came with the CPU. When I play games, the CPU core temperature is around 55C. It's not a huge problem, but I will definitely upgrade before summer hits. I am using this PC primary for gaming. I have played Wild heart and Apex on this PC. It's running very smoothly even at ultra graphical setting. No lag or drag. Overall, I am very happy with this setup.$1,754.95 -

I like old-school tech, tinkering, and trying to make things work that don't make sense. So, I took an old Compaq Presario 4090US Internet PC case, gutted it, chopped away some of the metal on the back, and squeezed modern parts into it. Well, mostly. The system is a fully-functional modern computer, though for extra fun, I've Hackintoshed it to run macOS Monterey. Even though it's running the latest macOS release (as of this writing), it's still got old-school charms: I've got a working floppy drive and optical drive inside of it. Was even able to use the original power LEDs! The only real trouble was finding where to put the power supply, as the case was designed for a proprietary sized PSU. Right now, I'm just using double-sided mounting tape to stick it to the bottom of the case. Hey, it works! :D For comparison, this computer originally had 128MB RAM, a 30GB hard drive, an 800MHz Celeron, and ran Windows ME.$684.94 -

Low storage because I have a NAS already with 40+ tb of storage. Like the title suggests this is the first gaming PC that I have put together in 15 years. My last one for comparison had an 8600GT, 500GB of HDD storage and 2gb of ram. I have put together hobbyist machines before this recently, but those are usually Frankenstein builds and/or servers for various reasons. So the parts for this were selected with the help of the NewEgg and LTT communities on discord. Both provided good insight for options I should consider. The cooler and PSU in particular were parts that I would never had considered, but are absolutely perfect for my needs.$1,779.85 -

My whole group of friends all played computer games and constantly egged me on to get a pc. Unfortunately i did not have money and a job as I was still finishing high school. Soon as I finished I got a job at Target and started putting in the hours to finally get my pc. My build originally started simple with a ryzen 3 2200g, b450 motherboard, 500gb ssd, and a ryzen rx 480 red devil. I wanted to upgrade in the future but knew Target was not going to cut it because high end pc parts are a pretty penny. So I went to trade school and now im an electrician trainee making decent money. After a long job with a total house remodel I happened to be passing micro center on my way home. I was tired but thought "hey why not check it out and maybe treat myself for the hard work" plus I had just gotten a rather large check haha. A friendly employee helped me out and I ended up walking out with pretty much an entire new build worth of upgrades.$1,672.91
