early 2024 rebuild

by Arte S Posted on: 1/29/2024

Build Description

the main goal of rebuilding this desktop pc is to get ready for the release of the new line of graphics cards released by nvidia this month. specifically, i am targeting the 4070 super since it has much superior 1440p performance at roughly the same price point previously held by the vanilla 4070 card. the main current problem is that the specific card (3rd party manufacturer, not nvidia reference / founders edition) has been sold out the first 2 weeks of release. so in the meantime i rebuilt this desktop with a newer cpu, a new kit of ddr4 ram, and some additional storage space.

Favorite Feature

the thing i am appreciating most right now is the raedon graphics performance that comes built into the ryzen 7 5700g chip. since i'm not using a separate video card right now, i'm getting by at 1080p for the time being, and it's actually surprisingly decent. of course it helps that i'm not playing games that are not especially stressful on graphics hardware. like most people, i'm currently addicted to the game palworld (haha).
