I built this pc because I wanted a small portable gaming system that can fit in my backpack. It allows me to take the pc on the go and play games at a friend's house or at a hotel. The only game I played so far on it is Yakuza 0 and it runs great at 60fps considering I am only using the AMD integrated graphics. The case I bought has space for a single slot graphics card, so I plan on purchasing a rx 6400 or gtx 1650 in the future to play more modern games.$449.93 -

It's set up in the living room, so being quiet is most important. The case used to have one of those solid plastic front-panels with few vents, so I removed it and just exposed the fan filter directly. The GPU also had a lot of extra plastic covering up the fan exhaust, and I modified the GPU shroud by cutting out most of the plastic bits. Combined with a moderate undervolt, the whole system runs very cool/quiet even while playing games at 1440p.$1,380.95 -

It was a sad day when I recently realized that the am4 socket, one into which I've heavily invested, is now officially obsolete and will see no more released cpu's that are compatible with the socket. Instead of abandoning my am4 setup that has served me well for many years, I decided to buy the processor that represented the single best upgrade available on the am4 socket, which is the 5900x3d. It pairs with my rtx 3080 nicely so far. One thing i might have done differently is a minor compatibility ive found between my motherboard and this particular rtx 3080. Specifically, the size of the graphics card obscures access to some of the sata ports on the motherboard. It's not a huge deal though and I've managed to work around it.$1,714.91 -

This build technically started back in 2016 as there are still some leftover parts from my first PC, as time went on I just continued to add more parts and recycle old ones where I can. There is some insane value in this PC as I virtually have little to zero dollars in it since I would upgrade and sell my old parts for more than what I paid originally over the years. Its a more than a decent gaming rig, but these days as I have no time anymore, it has become a fancy facebook/email checker and a YouTube machine for my toddler.$1,877.90 -
