My friend wanted his system upgraded to play Overwatch 2 and CIV 6 without his system crapping itself, so I said, "alright bro, I gochu." We scrubbed through the pc parts on the microcenter website, finding the perfect parts for his build. "Hey, Mello," he said to me. "You're team red, right?" "Hell yeah dude." I responded, grinning widly. "I'll get you hooked up with this bundle, bro" Ryzen 7 7800x3d, G-Skill 6000MTS 32gb of ram, and a b550-e plus wifi chipset motherboard. "Look at this fundle, bro." "hell yeah." he said. And so, I pre-ordered the "fundle" (bundle, but fun), arrived the next day to pick it up with him with the nicest looking ATX case on the market. And then we got to work.$1,517.91 -

With online tutorials, I managed to light it up for the first time. I built it during the COVID pandemic, making it challenging to find a graphics card. I settled for a 3700G just to get the PC running. Luckily, I snagged a 3070 Ti FE from Best Buy after lining up all night. I finally completed my rig, and so far, everything is working perfectly for all the games I've played :)$1,139.92 -

Built because old system would not take Windows 11 and the graphics card was not sufficient for Bethesda's upcoming title Starfield. The case is large enough to take my DVD player and to "hide" most of the drives "under" the motherboard. With four fans (3 intake and 1 exhaust) it has plenty of cooling for the CPU and Graphics card. Moterboard WiFi antenna included has two "micro" coax connectors and cable is too short for good under-desk placement of tower. Top has the on-off button, color mode button, audio ports and 2 USB 3 type A ports. Top ports are USB 3.0 but inside is not blue. Gray on black writing is not a favorite due to lack of contrast.$1,124.94 -

Built with future upgrades in mind, I built this workstation for my wife who works in digital illustration and enjoys immersive RTX games in her off hours. With an AM4 motherboard, there is a CPU upgrade path available as well as additional RAM slots for when more is needed in the future. I ended up getting a good deal on the RTX 3070 but a 3060ti would have been fine as her monitor does not have adaptive sync and she doesn't mind a lower framerate.$1,438.93 -

It was the first major upgrade I had since the original one I built back in 2010. It was built with Cyberpunk 2077 in mind and allowed me to play that at a level of fidelity I was pleased with. I'm now looking to upgrade the CPU so that will mean getting a new motherboard and RAM along with it, but that'll come a bit later.$1,579.92 -

Current 3 main games are Valorant, Rocket League, and Apex. Play tons of other titles in between though. Only upgrades I am really considering is a beefier CPU heatsink and some custom PSU cables. Maybe 32 GB of ram down the road too, as current gen ryzen seems to gain about 10%ish performance with 4 sticks. Build went smooth and is perfect for high refresh rate 1080p (my main monitor). Unpopular opinion, but I purposefully went to the nonrgb look. Just a clean black setup with some white lighting. Even did a little custom touch painting the fractal front plate to say "like and subscribe". I do not stream, and never have, but its kind of an inside joke and my saying when I make a good play in any game.$1,459.95 -

Family Gaming/Streaming Project Family Gaming/Streaming Project

During the COVID lockdowns, my three girls and I were playing a lot of video games to pass the time. I wanted to build a PC that could play any game, make videos if I/or my kids wanted to and stream while playing without an issue. This process took over a year to get to where it is below. I would check every other day on websites like Amazon and Microcenter for deals, open box items, and even joined discord channels to follow in stock alerts. I made this a family project and worked with my two oldest daughters 13 and 8 on what each part does, how to put it together, etc. They seemed interested and helped me seat the ram, manage cables, unbox the cool parts, but are much more interested when they can play their favorite games with their friends. It is definitely a show piece and they are proud of the PC they helped build when there friends come over. It doesn't have the top of the line components, but each component was selected to get the best performance for price I could afford. I hope my girls remember these fun times working with their dad building a computer. and pass that on to their kids some day. I am not the best gamer, I am not a streamer. I enjoy Elden Ring, even though I am not good at it. I also enjoy chill RTS games like Civilization 6, Frost Punk and Planet Coaster, I am much better at those. I have a full time job, I am a full time single parent to three girls, so finding time to game on my own, is difficult. However, I did not build this computer, just for myself, I built it with my kids because it makes me smile when I hear my 8 year old talking trash and laughing with her friends. I am amazed how talented my 13 year old is with editing her videos she captures with her iPhone and shared them with her friends on discord. I plan to upgrade to a 1GB NVME this next year. I have upgraded the case, motherboard and CPU along the way. Once I get a new SSD, I am only a GPU and power supply away from a second gaming PC project with the girls. This would be really cool for their friends to come over and have two gaming pcs they can take turns with to battle each other and make memories. I got all these parts from Micro Center except the Vetroo V5, power supply and case fans.$1,524.13
