I'm a photographer, HiFi guy, video content creator (YouTube), gamer, and general OCD kind of guy. So this build is to facilitate all of that. It's a work in process, the current GPU is the Powercolor 7800 XT spectral white. Previous GPU was the Powercolor Red Devil 6750 XT. I use ATC speakers for sound.$2,929.93 -

This Ryzen 9 rig is essentially a virtual musical instrument. This application puts as much emphasis on audio as a gaming setup puts on video. Its primary function is to run an app called jOrgan which simulates pipe organs and is controlled via external MIDI input. The app creates a fully customized organ simulator data file called a 'disposition' based on the user description of the type of organ desired then uses this data along with sample files and MIDI input from the organ console to activate a sample player that outputs to an external audio system. The setup is essentially a huge sample player controlled by a vintage Theater Pipe Organ console with 3 manuals or keyboards, 117 stops and 9 MIDI channels playing through a 700 watt RMS speaker system consisting of two 15" three-way cabinets and two independent 15" subwoofer cabinets. The high quality audio output is provided by a Personus USB audio and MIDI outboard interface, about the audio equivalent of a 4090. The room the organ is in was essentially built around the organ when the house was built. The instrument is the equivalent of a 24 rank (rank=a set of pipes) 1,800 pipe Theater Pipe Organ. For those in the know about theater organs, it is a little larger than a WurliTzer Publix I, with one less keyboard. Soon after the rig was built, I expanded the RAM to 64 gig. This is not shown in the photos. The rig is also used with a DAW (Cakewalk) and looping app (ZeroX) to create, edit and loop the 3,500 samples (so far) used in the organ simulation as well as to voice and balance the instrument. The DAW is also used to program the percussion sequencer, an Arduino based unit I built and programmed to be used as a 'drum machine." Since I chose to include an Nvidia 4070 in the build, I may have to explore gaming some time as well. The Unigine Heaven DX11 scores are through the roof! The audio from games and movies on this sound system has to be heard to be believed.$2,418.91 -

It's been working great so far. I have not encountered any games this PC couldn't run. This setup is absolutely perfect for 1440p gaming. The only thing I would not suggest in this build is the 1500-watt PSU. It's unnecessary. I got it during a sale and I didn't know what I was doing. A 800-watt PSU for this build is sufficient.$2,344.93 -

My last build was 7 years old and not compatible with the latest versions of Windows (not that I *really* wanted to make the switch). Upgrading the DDR-3 ram to DDR-4 or 5 would require upgrading the motherboard, upgrading the motherboard would require upgrading the processor, an upgraded processor would make my GPU a bottleneck... So I'd basically be building a whole new PC. So I built a whole new PC. It's about half the size, as well. I mostly plan to use it for gaming. I've been playing a lot of Darktide and Hogwarts Legacy, planning on playing some Cyberpunk as well. Also Guild Wars (1), but this PC doesn't change the way I play games from 2007 at all. I also homebrew tabletop rpgs and make character sheets for games I like with character sheets I don't like. In the future I may buy a monitor that supports more than 60hz, and maybe a mechanical keyboard without a num pad, since I really only use it to type in my pin these days, and it will save on desk space.$2,247.86 -

First time ever building a pc to replace my gaming laptop, hardly struggled with any of the parts and they worked very well together. Only wished I bought a full tower case so there is room for 5090 GPU when it comes out but not a big issue right now. Will use this for play all my favorite games in my STEAM library.$2,184.91 -

I completed the entire assembly except the GPU 2 weeks ago because the 4070 super is releasing this week. I just got the newly released 4070 super from Micro Center today. My build was finally complete. After installing the driver, the build is working perfectly. I tested it with Resident Evil 4 Remake and Wo Long, and it was able to render smooth 2K graphics at ultra-high graphic settings. No stutter during 5 hours of gameplay.$2,179.94 -

I want to play Red Dead Redemption on it, and the build is good enough for me to play this game at 120fps and high graphics settings and I'm really happy about it, It runs cool and very quiet too. Completely opposite from the prebuilt I had previously. I enjoyed buying these parts and assembling them myself. There were a few hiccups, but youtube is a very good resource for learning how to assembling a PC from scratch. I may add more RAM later but for now I'm going to finish the game first.$2,107.89 -

I ran into some RAM issues initially, I bought the Trident Z5 RAM, but it constantly triggered a yellow light on my motherboard. So, I ended up getting Corsair RAM, which resolved the issue. Other than that, everything else went smoothly. I also plan on adding more Lian-Li fans to the back of the case to make it more complete, and getting Lian-Li Strimer cables for additional RGB flair.$2,079.92 -

This setup is ment to create fast boot and load times, currently taking 5-7 seconds to boot into the windows desktop from off state. i9 14 gen to stay last for a long period of time before needing to upgrade. This includes the cpu liquid cooler. DDR5 RAM 5600Mhz for the newest generation that will last a long period of time, and my last past the next cpu upgrade. RTX 4070 Super to handle the majority of games at max settings at 1440p resolution. Currently no stutter or lag experience. GPU using the new power pin connection with the power supply.
