I also use it as a cloud gaming rig. If I could've done something different. I think I would've gone for a cpu with x3d. Something like a 7800x3d would've been worth it in the competitive scene, but I still got a great deal with the microcenter bundle. As a side note, I bought my gpu and cpu cooler separately from Microcenter. Zotac 3080 OC and a Peerless Assassin cooler. Everything else I got for an unbelievable price.$1,364.92 -

I built it to get back to gaming after more than 20 years (back in my college days). Its my first build ever as well. I bought 2 bundles from Microcenter - CPU+memory+motherboard and then ASUS Prime case + motherboard + psu bundle. I sold the motherboard from the CPU bundle (since it was regular size ATX board). The build posed some minor challenges which i loved. The Asus Prime case did not allow fitting the Arctic 280 cooler so i had to change one of the fans to a slim profile fan (as you can see in the pic). The HD drive was not easy to mount either. I am not much of a gamer though - but I play Far Cry 6, Metro: Last Light, Counter Strike, GTA V.$1,473.89 -

Started playing a lot of PUBG on it and more recently a lot of slippi and Asseto Corsa Competitzione. It originally had a Ryzen 3600 that I upgraded to a 5900x right before they released the 3d variants.... Went from a 2070 Super to a 3080 when a rich friend upgraded to a 4090! I don't do much gaming anymore, but my old build was 2015, and I literally could not play some of the more recent games even if I wanted to. The old build was still fine for most day-to-day stuff and I wanted another build that would go the distance. So here we are. My first build was 1998, and PC components have come a long way. I wanted something that could run Cyberpunk at 2k on max settings and still get over 60 FPS. I wanted something that I could hook up a top tier VR headset to without worries. The Lian Li components are super good, but they don't have great software support. Mostly, I would say that they are first rate components with second rate software running them. It often resets, and I can't update because of their file servers (or lack thereof). The Lian Li case is superb. The strimmer lighting looks great and is customizable. The CPU cooler is where the RGB software could be better. Even with the great cable management, the back of that case is STUFFED with cables, Lian Li USB controllers, internal USB hub. The fact that I put a RAID 10 SSD array in there didn't help with space. It seems like no mater what improvements are made with cable management, I'll find a way to fill it with cables! I was going with an ASUS 4080, but it was out of stock when I went to the store, so I settled for the Zotac. It's fine, but the RGB is about 3 years behind the RDG in the rest of the box. Even though it was 1200 bucks, I won't hesitate to return it if the 4080 super comes out in time. I may replace it with a 5000 series in a couple of years. My background is scientific computing, and this PC is about on par with the number of threads and memory that was in $20K servers I was using in 2010. I really like that it's super quiet, even with 6 fans. When its running full blast, its makes half the noise that my 2015 does. I'll probably try DnD next...but then will go back to checking my email! This PC specs out in the top 1% in Passmark. But 1% is a huge number of builds. Maybe next time I go ThreadRipper and Nivida XX90!$3,655.81 -

I have always wanted to build my own gaming PC but never had the budget to get specifically what I wanted. But now I was able to save up enough and did a bunch of research on the specs and prices I was looking for and got exactly what I needed for my ideal gaming PC. I mainly want to be able to playing games at ultra graphics and high FPS and knowing that GTA 6 is on its way, I know I'm gonna need something really powerful if I wanna run it that way. I like a wide range of games like 3rd and 1st person shooters and even games like Sims or Planet Zoo or Age of Empires. Even Fifa and some racing games as well. I also use the PC for video editing. Not super high end hollywood crazy stuff but yeah. Just random home vids, I'm still learning. Just got DaVinci Resolve.$1,315.94
