This is my first build, and it was supposed to be a budget build, but the cost added up quickly. I didn't plan the entire thing out and buy the part over the span of 6 month looking for deals. Really thrilled that everything worked perfectly despite bad planning.$2,489.92 -

I went for a slightly upper mid-range build made for playing games at 1440p resolution on high/ultra settings while getting 60 to120 fps. That way I don't have to worry about upgrading anytime soon.$2,019.92 -

I was able to build this PC because of a CPU + Board + RAM combo deal, and it was incredibly helpful since I was building around a $1,500 budget! (I actually managed to get in way under budget, which was a wonderfully welcome surprise) Originally, I optioned it with an AMD RX 6750 XT GPU, but have since upgraded to a RTX 3080 Ti Founder's Edition.$1,314.92 -

I've been trying to convince him to replace his 2016 16 inch Macbook Pro, but he really held off on the upgrade for a while. But, after trying to use the Macbook for heavy 4k video editing tasks in Final-Cut he realized that the laptop wouldn't cut it. So that was the very beginning of this ongoing project of a computer. The finished result is what you see here and it's probably one of the most challenging computers I have ever built. This was mainly because of the software situation, I underestimated the work you put in to get MacOS Ventura installed on a non Mac computer. But I am happy to say that it is incredibly stable (as long as he doesn't mess with it) and performs similarly to a $6000 Mac Pro. For the parts I opted for the i9 12900k because it was a huge upgrade from the 4 core i7 in his laptop, and it came in the best value (in my opinion) micro center bundle with the i9 motherboard and ram for only $400. I also went for an all Noctua cooling setup due to the quality, durability, longevity and most importantly whisper quiet operation as he does music production/recording in the same room as this beast. I also went for two separate 1tb drives to ensure ease of use and compatibility with a dual boot system. The 6800 from MSI was my first choice due to it's compatibility with Hackintosh and value for money when I bought it. I chose The Fractal North because my dad enjoys woodworking when he has the time, and it also has an absolutely incredibly professional yet unique look to it. The PC boots up to a boot menu where you can select which OS you are using (refer to image 18). And boots up relatively quick for a hackintosh (around 40 seconds). Everything in macos works except wifi and bluetooth at the moment, since his current wifi/bluetooth card is unsupported in macos. So we will likely add a broadcom chip which should be compatible out of the box with hackintosh (but you never know). I will update the part list if I add the chip and it works. My dad was extremely happy with the upgrade and I am glad that he is. There were many hurdles to overcome when troubleshooting issues and bugs, but after installing the correct Kexts and finalizing bios settings it was ready to go. I hope you all enjoy the build as much as we did, it's definitely one of my favorite builds I have ever put together.$1,309.92 -

I also use it as a cloud gaming rig. If I could've done something different. I think I would've gone for a cpu with x3d. Something like a 7800x3d would've been worth it in the competitive scene, but I still got a great deal with the microcenter bundle. As a side note, I bought my gpu and cpu cooler separately from Microcenter. Zotac 3080 OC and a Peerless Assassin cooler. Everything else I got for an unbelievable price.$1,364.92 -

And in this industry strong computers are needed to carry out rendering and processing the animation. So I thought why settle for buying the whole computer set up when I can pool my resources and put together on of the most powerful computers in the market. I took inspiration from performance over presentation, I took the strongest parts in the market I could afford and had them put together into The Monolith. It may not be eye candy but it’s sure as heck is powerfull$2,104.93 -

This mini itx build is used for games like Overwatch, Hogwarts Legacy, and Party Animals. I may have overbuilt it for my needs. So far, it's been nothing short of amazing. It's currently running Ubuntu 24.04, but will add another M.2 SSD for Windows and gaming. Currently I'm participating in multiple scientific distributed computing projects with boinc, I have transcoded ripped blu rays (1080p so far) at a stable 500 fps to AV1 mkv's using ffmpeg (cuda hw accelerated). I plan to run an LLM locally, and want to see if i can run a 70B model without too much quantization, and compare to my old rig (core i7 3770, 16GB ram, GTX 1080). That only ran 13B models max. I might need more system memory. Lol.$2,424.92 -

The 7700k is delidded to keep temperatures in check and was able to overclock to 5.0GHz but left it on XMP stock to not risk anything. I stripped the finish off of aluminum accents to make them match and give a slightly cleaner look. I also peeled the labels off of the drives to match the styling. Temps are fairly cool considering the size of the case. To be used by one of my kids to play their Steam Library and playing Minecraft. Also leaning towards getting everything ASUS Strix (MB/GPU) as they match in aesthetics.$614.99 -

This air-cooled PC in a Corsair 275R features a few Arctic P12 case fans, and a single fan Noctua CPU cooler. The 7700k has been de-lidded, TIM replaced, and even had its IHS sanded down to the copper layer to improve thermal conductivity. It runs at 4.9GHz on a stable clock, but struggles go beyond 80fps in Fortnite. It's been paired with a RTX 2080S, and has 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I have around 6TB of storage space on board, a mix of SSD and HDD. Looking back on this build, I should haven't locked myself into this generation with the motherboard I purchased, the z270 from ASRock. Going forward, I'm replacing the CPU first, either from AM5 or AM6. The GPU might chug along for a couple more years before I replace it with something from RTX5 or later.$1,809.97 -

I wanted to go current gen AMD, but was not sure about stability with 4 sticks DDR5 and Ryzen7000. I've heard it is doable but only at speeds below 4400 MT/s. I ended up with tried-and-true 5950x and DDR4 cranked up to 3200 MT/s. Went with matte black, no-RGB and no sleeved cables.$1,858.91 -
