EXTRAS: All-in-One FAQs

Q: Does this All-In-One work with a digital phone line?
A: No, you need to have an analog phone line for the FAX to work correctly.

Q: Does the Wireless All-In-One require a wireless router to print from my laptop?

A: No, you can set up the printer to connect wirelessly directly to your laptop.

Q: Why should I wirelessly connect this All-In-One to a wireless router rather than my laptop?
A: If you wirelessly connect your printer to your router, then you can print from any computer connected to the router, not just the laptop.

Q: What type of connection should I use from my All-In-One to my computer?
A: If you are only using the AIO with one computer, it is simplest to set it up with a USB connection.  If you want to share the printer with several computers, or the printer isn’t close to the computer, you can connect it to your router instead (either wired or wirelessly), as long as your computer shares the same LAN.

Q: The AIO is showing a message that there is a paper jam, even though the paper path is clear of debris.  How can this problem be fixed?

A: Once you have checked all area inside of the printer for debris, close the printer. If the message remains, try unplugging the printer for one minute, then plugging it back in.  If the message is still there, follow the instructions in the printer manual for a "factory reset".

Q: Why doesn’t the scan button on the AIO work?
A: You may need to install the scanning software on your computer before you can use the scanner.

Q: Will this AIO work as a copier without being connected to a computer?
A: Yes, you can use the AIO as copier whether or not it is connected to a computer.

Q: How should corrupted printer software be fixed?
A: Disconnect the AIO from the computer, uninstall the printer software from "Add or Remove Programs" (XP) or "Programs and Features" (Vista) or "Programs" (Win 7), restart the computer, reinstall the printer software, and connect the AIO when the software prompts you to do so.
