He has the device assembled but at bootup it hangs at the Aorus bios screen with the f2, f12 and delete options but his keyboard is not recognized. We have tried all of the USB ports with a wired Dell keyboard, reseated all of the cables, rebooted a few times and tried booting to the Windows flash drive with no luck. Hitting f2, f12 or deleted does nothing. The keyboard lights up but none of the keys or combination of keys (ctrl, alt, esc, del, num lock, f12, f2 etc) work. Any tips? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments Ian admin April 26 Greetings, you have tried multiple keyboards and still have the same issue? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook MizikeMercury ✭ April 27 Thank you for the quick response! I have decided on a 2070 super. Evey review I've seen about it says it comes with 3 display ports, an HDMI port and a USB type c port. Yet every online retailer and website says it only comes with the 3 display and one HDMI. What gives? Do the all same with the USB type c port? The issue started yesterday when i decided to add in an Inland Premium NVME to it.  Prior to the new addition I was having no issues, everything booted up on the first try and i was very impressed with how great it was running.  Initially after adding the new drive everything was working perfectly as well. I was able to migrate the OS and everything seemed to of been a smooth transition since it booted up from the new Drive and was working perfectly, until I went to turn it off at that point it kept rebooting. After a few attempts it finally it turned off.  I turned it back on to see if everything was ok with it now but it gave me the blue screen "oops...." I went to the bios made sure everything looked fine and it did. I attempted to load up the computer after saving within bios and then it turned off. I attempted to turn the computer back on from here and now I'm just getting the Red VGA light on the mother board and the graphics card fans turn off shortly after stating the computer.  I'm not terribly sure what all I can do from here, can someone please help? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSPhillipT admin May 2020 Hello @supermariopunch!  Welcome to the Micro Center Community! So now we are unable to get into the Bios?  Could you try clearing the caps for the system?  You can do this by unplugging the power to the system or toggling the Power Supply Off and then holding down the power button for about 20 seconds.  Then plug it back in and start up the system.  If this does not work, I would then recommend clearing the CMOS by removing the CMOS Battery (Looks like a watch battery) on the motherboard for about 20 seconds and then putting it back in and then starting up the system.   1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook supermariopunch ✭ May 2020 This worked great! looks like my files were corrupted but luckily since its a new PC i didn't have anything of terrible importance. It's telling you it can enumerate your drives or there's nothing to boot to. Given you've already had OS corruption my thoughts are we're either having an issue with the drive or the system is very unstable. However, if that was the case, I doubt you would of gotten through an OS install without a crash. Do you still have an OS on the WD SSD to test with? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 7K All Categories 1K The Blog 32 What's Trending 167 How to & Technical Guides 11 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 16 3D Printers 10 Maker 16 PC Build Guides 96 Reviews & Buying Guides 34 Build Showcase 17 Contests 39 Past Contests 1K The Community 1.7K General Discussion 106 New Members 124 Consumer Tech 42 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 76 Software 4 Audio/Visual 13 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 22 Hobby Boards & Projects 26 3D Printing 53 Retro Arcade/Gaming 86 All Other Tech 1.3K Store Information and Policy 51 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 113 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 223 Graphics Cards 172 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 62 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 16 Monitors and Displays 30 Peripherals 10 All Other Parts 22 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? I've violated these sorts of recommendations before, and the system usually works fine anyway.  But not always.  So it would be nice to know ahead of time if this is a bad idea. Also looking to upgrade my video card.  But that seems more straightforward. FYI, my local Microcenters are Parkville, MD and Rockville, MD. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments LandShark admin February 5 Hello @MortyA I can't say that I'd recommend mismatching speeds, however, should you add a higher speed RAM set to your system, it will typically downclock to match the lowest speed in the system. The system will always be capped to the lowest RAM clock in the system. However, if they all match in speed and timings, you'll typically have better performance. Mismatched RAM can lead to other system errors that would harm the performance of your system. In some cases causing your system to crash or hard reset. You're mostly correct about the GPU! Just make sure that you've uninstalled the old GPU drivers before you add the new card. A fresh GPU install with cleanly installed drivers is always recommended. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns! The Gigabyte website shows that there are two versions of this board, and one of the differences is that the newer one has a slot for a Thunderbolt daughterboard. But the part selector on the MC website doesn't specify which version is available. I don't want to just assume it will be the newer one and then be disappointed. Is there a way to be sure? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSTonyV admin April 2020 Hello @MacCruiskeen! Welcome to the Community.  The revision that includes the Thunderbolt header is relatively new and while we may have some, most of our stock right now likely is likely the original version. I would assume that if you were to get one, it would not be the latest revision.  The only way for us to check the revision on those boards would be for a sales associate who's physically at the store to check. If you can private message me your name/contact information and local store, or reach out to us via text or chat, we can get your information to the sales associates at your local store and have them reach out to you to confirm one way or the other. Any chance of return or refund for an exchange, hopefully something from MSI or NVidia. Seems to be a common issue with Gigabyte cards. I've been referring to people to fix it but mine seems to be louder and more noticeable even at idle than usual coil whine problems. Sounds like I live next to a power station with high pitched buzzing and crackling noises. Thanks for your time. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSTonyV admin May 2020 Hello @Augustin! Welcome to the Community.  Graphics cards come with a 30-day return period, if you're still within that there wouldn't be any issues exchanging it. If you're outside that 30-day window, then it would be under the manufacturer's warranty and you'd want to contact Gigabyte. If you purchase a replacement plan with us for it, then you could still bring it back in in that case. Jericcho ✭ August 2020 edited June 3 in General Discussion I bought a Ryzen 5 3600 bundle with the Gigabyte B450M DS3H this past week from Microcenter. Before I kickoff my build, do I need to have the Bios updated for the B450? I have heard mixed reports on if newer made motherboards already have Bios updated to work with Ryzen 5 3600. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSTonyV admin August 2020 Look for a label on the box that looks like this: If that label is on your motherboard box, then you do not have to do a BIOS update. If it's not there, then a BIOS update may be required. You'd need to use a previous generation Ryzen CPU to do it, or you could bring the motherboard to the service desk at your local Micro Center store and we can do a BIOS update for you. There would be a $29.99 labor charge in that case.  Alternatively, if you're within the return period on the board you could do an exchange and we could find one that is updated out of box. Pretty much all the 400 series boards should be shipping with the correct BIOS. My budget is $1,250 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments Tigran_62 ✭ August 2020 Please some one respond 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin August 2020 The Ryzen 5 3600 is a good CPU and it can pair well with a 2070 Super, so don't worry too much about that. In terms of saving money, the easiest area would be on the case. There are cases you can get for about half the cost that will still work well like the Cooler Master NR600, Lian Li 205 and NZXT H510.  I would also recommend a 24" instead of a 27" monitor if you're going with 1080p for your resolution. Monitors should cost a little less at a smaller size and personally, I think for a 27" monitor 1080p isn't quite enough and text/images can get a little pixellated and blurry because the pixel density isn't quite there.  Otherwise it's a solid build all around.  1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Tigran_62 ✭ August 2020 Can it be any better for the budget anything you would change 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin August 2020 I didn't notice it last night, but you chose DDR4-3200 for your RAM, I would recommend getting a kit of DDR4-3600 since that's the sweetspot for third generation Ryzen CPUs. Otherwise, the only other things I'd really change are what I already mentioned. The CPU, GPU, SSD, motherboard and power supply are all solid choices.  1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Tigran_62 ✭ August 2020 MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB VENTUS XS OC Video Card  is this a good graphics card because I went a lot over my budget by choosing that gpu and was wodering if this was a good gpu fort the price around $250 or is there a better gpu for that price. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin August 2020 For $250 the 1660 Super is the card to choose. You won't be "using its full potential" but that's not a bad thing, it means you'll be able to pair it with future GPU upgrades without having to also upgrade your CPU.  The motherboard you chose is one of the best B450 motherboards as far as I'm aware and is a good choice along with the 3600.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Tigran_62 ✭ August 2020 edited August 2020 in pcpartpicker it tells me that  The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. I tested the PSU, GPU and the SSD in an older PC and all three work. Can I have any recommendations on what to do next? Thank you!   0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments Waffler Cleveland, OH ✭ May 2020 Did you buy the motherboard with the Ryzen 3-series stamp on it? If not, you may have to flash the BIOS to be able to recognize the newer Ryzen 3rd generation. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Yavin4 ✭ May 2020 Hi Waffler,    It does say on the box that it is "AMD Ryzen 3000 Desktop ready". Could it have something to do with the ATX 12v connection on the motherboard?  Thanks    0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Waffler Cleveland, OH ✭ May 2020 No, it shouldn't, the 24-pin is almost always sufficient unless you're doing some heavy overclocking that requires more current. Try checking the connections, sometimes a loose connection is all it is. Is the PSU turned on? Are you plugged into a surge protector strip that needs to be turned on? I'm not trying to be mocking or anything, because I can't tell you how many times something didn't work on my end and it was the dumbest thing that usually was responsible. The PSU is indeed turned on. I have reconnected the 24-pin connector to the motherboard and still no luck.   The same PSU works well with an old Dell Optiplex 3020. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Waffler Cleveland, OH ✭ May 2020 Could be a DOA motherboard, not unheard of. May want to return it and get a new one. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin May 2020 Just to be safe, run through our troubleshooting guide for new builds that don't want to POST. That will cover pretty much everything you can do on a new build. It honestly could be something as simple as you just need to unplug and re-plug your memory or clear the CMOS. If you can make it through the whole guide and it still doesn't want to boot or power on properly, either something in assembled incorrectly or there's a hardware related issue/compatibility issue.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Yavin4 ✭ May 2020 Thank you Waffler and TSTonyV!
