Community Article asus prime x570-p psu — Micro Center asus prime x570-p psu wrench_bender ✭ November 2 in Power Supplies Hi folks, Do I have to have a 8 pin and 4 pin cpu power connectors from the psu to run a R5 3600 with PBO and XMP enabled? The hope is to eventually upgrade cpu and gpu. From what I've been able to find a 650w psu should be able to handle the load. However, the mobo may require the added 4 pin cpu power.  Thanks for your help. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Best Answer CHRONOBODI ✭ November 2 Accepted Answer no, u only need 8 pin cpu. the 4 pin is largely pointless, even on 3950x. 5 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Answers wrench_bender ✭ November 2 Thanks Chrono. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. Extra 4 pin power connectors are pretty normal, probably even the majority of motherboards have them. 1 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. There are a couple articles on other tech sites talking about the backplate, and they mention how it is not affixed to the motherboard, and the way those articles word it, it sounds like the back plate may not be included. I bought the x570-p from MicroCenter this past weekend, and the backplate was included with the motherboard. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. "Aura service is currently unavailable" 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSMikeW admin July 8 That may be our problem, but unless you've forced software control by Aura Sync the lights should come on in a default color/pattern. For Aura Sync, it can get difficult when it's not working properly. Make sure you're on the latest version. I assume you've already reinstalled it. Start there. If it's still not working, use a tool like Revo Uninstaller to totally  nuke it and the registry keys, or use CCleaner after the uninstall to clean the system thoroughly, then reinstall. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Tommy ✭ July 8 Im currently updating my bios to see if that will fix the lighting issue if it's supposed to light up anyways without Aura Sync.  After that i will check to see if i plugged it in the correct header. Just to be sure, the header on my board (z390-P) that i plugged into is white. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSMikeW admin July 8 I looked through the manual here: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/PRIME_Z390-P/E15011_PRIME_Z390-P_UM_v3_web.pdf The white connector and the only RGB connector on the bottom is standard, it's not addressable. Looking up the fan, it specifies it is addressable. You'll an ARGB controller to use this fan. Otherwise, you could exchange for a standard RGB fan. Voltages are difference between the two types. Community Article Two of the same SKU monitors, different color depth on each — Micro Center Two of the same SKU monitors, different color depth on each Zach ✭ June 29 in Technical Support Questions Hey everyone, So I bought an Acer VG240Y back in February of 2020. I later decided to run a dual monitor setup and picked up a second of the exact same monitor today now that they are back in stock. Long story short, the monitors are the same, the SKU's are the same, but one monitor is running at a 10-bit color depth while the other is running at a 12-bit color depth. Additionally, when I look at each monitor separately in the "Advanced display settings" it shows that my first monitor is a "VG240Y P" and the one I bought today is a "VG240Y V". Is the V and P at the end of each something that Windows 10 puts there to allow for separate identification, or are they legitimately two different sub models (maybe?) of the same model monitor? Community Article Upgrading power supply — Micro Center Upgrading power supply Thor2219 ✭ September 18 in Help Choosing Parts I've got the hp compaq 8300 sff and would like to upgrade from the 240W power supply to something more powerful so I can then upgrade the graphics card so I can play fall guys! I'm struggling to find a more powerful power supply that is known to fit inside the hp sff chassis. Anyone know of some options? Thanks! 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Comments TSPhillipT admin September 18 Hello @Thor2219 After taking a look at this thread regarding this; https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Hp-Compaq-Elite-8300-SFF-psu-graphics-upgrade/td-p/5743592, it looks pretty specific for the power supply.  I recommend to consider a different option than upgrading the GPU and PSU as there are no PSUs that have the higher wattage and other sized PSUs that may fit inside will likely require some modding.   0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. Read the full story here 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Comments GuyWylie ✭ April 9 Do you usually replace the existing coolant in a prefilled aio? Also, the 3700x is considered to be a much better deal as it's nearly identical to the 3800x, so save $30 and no coolant for a total of $48 to go for a 32gb 2x16 kit of RAM for some future proofing or maybe get the x570 Aorus Elite. Much better board for not much more money IMHO. Enjoy the build, gotta love living near Microcenter, Am I Right? P. S. 3600Mhz is by all accounts the "sweet spot" for Ryzen 3xxx on the x570 chipset. I've done hours of research cause I'm a bit obsessed with PC hardware. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. This build looks great. The one thing I would upgrade is your power supply. For future upgrades, you would run into incompatibility for graphic cards. Here is an updated build through our PC builder. https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder.aspx?load=dd2a0a4b-e3e3-41a4-8276-c9aa5a12a1b5 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter LandShark admin October 27 Hello @tubster217 I'd also recommend upgrading your storage in the future. Some games like COD:MW use around 200GB of your storage. Because of that, I'd have to recommend adding at least a 1TB storage drive to your current selection. If you're looking for speed I'd go with https://www.microcenter.com/product/502942/samsung-860-evo-1tb-ssd-3-bit-mlc-v-nand-sata-iii-6gb-s-25-internal-solid-state-drive If you're looking for the budget option, I'd go with this. https://www.microcenter.com/product/600551/seagate-barracuda-2tb-7200rpm-sata-iii-6gb-s-35-internal-hard-drive Hope this helps! 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter AdminsAreToxic Rockville ✭ November 5 "And at this moment I realized that you fricked up" You shouldn't have gotten a DS3H, they bad. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter LandShark admin November 5 MightyD said: "And at this moment I realized that you fricked up" You shouldn't have gotten a DS3H, they bad.
