Gaming PCs are more popular than ever, and the limitless options out there can be intimidating for people new to the hobby. Prebuilt gaming PCs are an excellent way to get into the hobby without breaking the bank. Name brands such as HP and Dell offer a wide variety of prebuilt gaming PCs that can have you up and running in no time. These computers' many variations and price points make them great for any task from gaming to office work. Prebuilt PCs come ready out of the box and can save you time and money when purchasing your next gaming computer. Most desktop PCs will even come with a keyboard and mouse, further reducing initial costs. When you buy a prebuilt PC, it also includes the operating system, which helps to save you even more money. The only additional purchase you will need to make with a prebuilt gaming PC is a monitor, although almost all prebuilt gaming PCs support an HDMI output and thus are compatible with nearly any modern TV or monitor.

Extended warranties and service plans can keep your desktop protected for years to come. There’s also a good reason its gaming laptops and prebuilt gaming PCs feature so prominently in the Micro Center Platinum Collection: they’re that good. Although Micro Center sells thousands of different gaming PCs, gaming laptops, components, and systems designed for work and study in mind, the Platinum Collection is one range that you can trust to meet all of your expectations. It offers quality computers made with only the best value-for-money components available today, from trusted brands (like Lenovo), with no customization, tweaking, or setup required. They look good, work even better, and are priced fairly. The Micro Center Platinum Collection is a great place to go if you want a quality laptop or desktop PC without any of the hassle. Lenovo Legion T5 26AMR5 Gaming Computer Buying a Lenovo gaming PC can be one of the most cost-effective ways to get gaming. The Lenovo Legion T5 is one of the most popular systems in the Micro Center Platinum Collection, as it offers solid gaming performance at a reasonable price, along with some great all-around features. At its heart is the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G – a six-core, 12 thread processor, with a 4.4GHz boost clock that you can only get in prebuilt gaming PCs. It’s one of AMD’s APUs, which means it has its own onboard graphics. Although this system has its own dedicated graphics card for added gaming power, it can be really useful to have the ability to boot the system without one for easier troubleshooting in the case of errors, or when performing upgrades in the future. To give it the extra gaming power it needs to run all sorts of games at high details and frame rates is Nvidia’s standout GTX 1660 Super – one of its most cost-effective, entry-level gaming GPUs of recent years that delivers excellent 1080p gaming performance. Combined with the super-capable AMD Ryzen processors and it has all the gaming grunt you need for playing esports games at maximum settings with high frame rates for lightning-fast action and reduced input lag. It isn’t restricted to just older or low-fidelity games, though. It’s more than capable of delivering playable frame rates in modern AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077, Resident Evil Village, or Deathloop. If you stick to 1080p, you can even peg most of the visual settings on high and get well above 30FPS. Joining the great CPU and GPU in this Lenovo gaming PC is 16GB of high-speed, DDR4-3200 memory, and half a terabyte of solid-state storage. That means this system will remain snappy and responsive even with many browser tabs open, and it will both boot fast and load your games quickly. It comes in an attractive chassis with RGB fans, which you can see clearly thanks to the side-panel window. It has USB-A and USB-C ports, supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and comes complete with a capable keyboard and mouse, so you can get gaming right away.   Lenovo Legion 5 15 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop In 2021, gaming laptops have become one of the best ways to game, whether you like to do it at your desk or on the move, and Lenovo’s Legion 5 15 is one of the reasons why. A perfect example of a Platinum Collection gaming laptop that combines a gorgeous, high refresh rate display, with powerful internal components, solid battery life, and an attractive chassis. It’s an all-around excellent gaming machine that has everything you need to get gaming right away. The heavily-discounted version now available at Micro Center comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, with eight cores, 16 threads, and a maximum clock speed of 4.4GHz. It’s blisteringly quick and one of the best mobile CPUs ever made. It has its own onboard graphics which are good enough for entry-level gaming, but you needn’t take advantage of that when this laptop packs an awesomely powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 mobile graphics chip. This combination is more than enough to go well in excess of 100 FPS in most Esports games, and will even get you above 60 FPS in most modern AAA games at ultra settings. Better yet, as an Nvidia RTX 3000 graphics card, it supports both ray tracing and deep leaning super sampling (DLSS). That can make supporting games look far better, and with DLSS enabled, you won’t even suffer much of a frame rate hit. Do bear in mind, that the list of games that support both still isn’t extensive, but it’s growing all the time and this Lenovo gaming laptop is a great way to take advantage of either, or both together. Joining this great combination is 16GB of high-speed DDR4-3200 memory, and a full terabyte of SSD storage – more than enough space for even hefty game libraries. Whatever you’re playing, though, it’ll look great on the 15.6-inch, 1080p display. Its 165Hz panel makes sure that your games look smooth and stutter-free, with a low input lag making sure you stay competitive with your enemies. This is the premium version of the Legion 5 15 display, offering 100% coverage of the sRGB spectrum, and a 300 nits brightness, so it’s bright and colorful too for a rich and engaging gaming experience. The overall shape and look of this gaming laptop is typical of its genre, with a slightly chunky, plastic-heavy design, but it still looks good, with an understated black paint job and subtle “Legion” branding. It also has a comfortable keyboard and a responsive touchpad, although you may want an external mouse if you’re playing faster-paced games. With battery life that should last you five hours on a full charge, support for the latest wired and wireless standards, this Lenovo Legion gaming laptop is a great way to play your favorite games in 2021. In the Platinum Collection, it’s available at a great price too.   Lenovo Legion 5 17 17.3-inch Gaming Laptop  If you prefer to do your gaming in fixed locations, but still want a powerful gaming PC that you can take with you when you travel, the Lenovo Legion 5 17 might be a better fit for you. It enjoys the same high-end internal components as its smaller sibling but has a noticeably bigger display that is a joy to game on no matter what you’re playing. Under the hood, it enjoys the power and efficiency of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPU, which has eight cores and 16 threads that help maximize frame rates in your favorite games, as well as make this laptop a multitasking powerhouse. If you like to do a little video editing on the side, or stream while you game, this CPU will make it possible – the extra-large 17.3-inch screen is great for handling expansive editing timelines. The processor is paired with the supremely capable Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics chip, with 6GB of GDDR6. Together, they enable high FPS gaming in Esports games, modern AAA titles, and everything in between. It’s not enough to game at 4K with ray tracing enabled, but that’s not what this gaming laptop is designed for. Indeed, its display is 1080p, but does have a high refresh rate of 144Hz. That means that when you do hit those high frame rates, you can see the effect, with a smoother and more responsive gaming experience. It also comes with 16GB of DDR4-3200 memory, a terabyte of super-fast SSD storage, and excellent connectivity. Along with Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6 support built right in, it also has a number of USB-A and USB-C ports – a rarity in many modern laptops, and a great addition if you want to connect external accessories and controllers. Even if you don’t, though, it has a comfortable and snappy keyboard and touchpad, making this a great gaming laptop right out of the box. It looks just as good as its smaller sibling, with neat, understated looks. It is a little heavier, at 6.55 pounds, so try not to haul it around all day, and gaming on your lap wouldn’t be convenient, but with its estimated six hours of battery life, it has plenty of juice if you can find somewhere comfortable enough to play while traveling.  Want more information on the Lenovo Legion 5? The Micro Center Platinum Collection is a line of systems that have been specifically vetted to deliver excellent performance at a fair price, all from recognized brands.  This range of gaming PCs all feature cutting-edge gaming components in high-quality chassis, at affordable prices. There’s no need to customize, configure, or tweak them. They’ll play your favorite games and play them well.  If you’re looking for the best computers for gaming, the Micro Center Platinum Collection is a great place to start.   Dell XPS 8940 The Dell XPS 8940 is one of the best desktop gaming PCs out there, featuring a great selection of components in a compact, and quiet chassis. It’s sleek and attractive, without being covered in gaming-centric styling options and heavy-handed LEDs. This is a PC that is fantastic for gaming, but wouldn’t be out of place for a homework machine either; especially considering the hardware it has under the hood.  The base configuration for the XPS 8940 includes a cutting-edge Intel Core i7-11700 CPU, with eight cores and the ability to boost up to 4.9 GHz. That kind of extreme clock speed makes it a monstrously capable gaping CPU, and helps it hit high frame rates in Esports games, making this one of the best desktop PCs for gaming the Platinum Collection offers.  The powerful processor is paired up with 16GB of high-speed memory, and an Nvidia GTX 1660 Super graphics card – great for 1080p gaming. It’ll deliver comfortable frame rates at medium settings in just about anything, and there isn’t a game out there that it can’t play if you’re happy to tweak the settings.  If you want a little more power, the XPS 8940 can also come with an Nvidia RTX 3060 instead. That GPU is not only far more powerful, giving you the option of ultra-high settings in almost any game at 1080p resolution, but it packs all of the cutting-edge features offered by Nvidia’s Ampere range of graphics cards. That means RT cores for real-time ray tracing in games like Fortnite, Resident Evil Village, and Minecraft. The onboard tensor cores also give this gaming PC support for deep learning super sampling (DLSS) in supporting games too, which can give you a big performance boost. If you’re trying to make the most of Cyberpunk 2077, Control, or Metro Exodus, it’s a great feature to have.  If you want to target higher resolutions or higher frame rates in AAA games, the XPS 8940 is also available with an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti – a stupendously powerful graphics card in its own right. When paired with the same high-speed Intel processor, 32GB of fast memory, a terabyte of SSD storage (and an extra terabyte of hard drive space), it’s one of the best computers for gaming you can buy. HP Pavilion Gaming 15   In the wake of graphics card pricing problems over the past year, gaming laptops have emerged as one of the best, and most affordable ways to enjoy your favourite games. With a new-generation of powerful mobile processors from AMD, some of the best gaming laptop deals out there are gaming laptops. Take the HP Pavilion Gaming 15, it combines the exquisite AMD Ryzen 5 5600H six core processor, with an Nvidia GTX 1650, and 8GB of high-speed memory. That’s the kind of hardware that a couple of years ago would have meant paying well north of a thousand dollars, but today it can be had for substantially less.  This laptop can easily handle competitive shooters like Call of Duty and Battlefield at 1080p, well north of 60 FPS, or high frame rates in Esports games like League of Legends, Fortnite, and Rocket League. It enjoys fast boot and game load times with its half-terabyte of high-speed SSD storage, and its relatively lightweight with reasonable battery life. It’s one of the best laptops today for affordable gaming.   Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3   Upping the ante that bit more is the Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3, which is both a very capable gaming laptop, but also an absolute powerhouse of a work machine if you want one of the best Windows laptops for general computing too.  The AMD Ryzen 7 5800H eight-core processor is one of the best mobile CPUs ever made, with absolutely monstrous multi-threaded performance. When paired with a cutting-edge Nvidia RTX 3050 which supports both ray tracing and DLSS, it’s an amazing gaming laptop for this kind of money. Especially since all the pixels it renders are output through a good-looking 1080p display with support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate – perfect for high-paced, competitive play.  Other strengths include support for Gigabit Ethernet networking, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.0, and half a terabyte of high-speed NVMe SSD storage.  This is easily one of the best laptop deals to be had right now and is a standout even within the Platinum Collection.   MSI Katana GF66   The $1,000 mark is the sweet spot for gaming laptops. They come with that bit more performance, a bit more display clarity and brightness, all wrapped up in a great-looking chassis. The MSI Katana GF66 is a great example of that. Its combination of an Intel Core i7 11800H, 16GB of high-speed memory, and an Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti make it one of the best laptop deals available today.  That’s a whole lot of hardware for the money, delivering fantastic 1080p gaming performance in absolutely any contemporary game, from high-paced (and with this, high frame rate) Esports games, to AAA experiences that will look buttery smooth on its 144Hz display.  Its only weak spot is that its power-hungry CPU can lead to lackluster battery life, so this is a gaming laptop that punches above its weight, but you’ll want to keep the charger handy if you want to game for more than a couple of hours.   Asus TUF Gaming A15  One of the best laptops for gaming and general productivity, the Asus TUF A15 is packed full of high-powered components but doesn’t make cuts in the way some models do to achieve it. Its eight-core, AMD Ryzen 5800H CPU isn’t as power-hungry as some, leading to excellent battery life for a mid-range gaming laptop, and the Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti is more than capable of covering all of your gaming needs at 1080p resolution.  You can take full advantage of that too, thanks to its 144Hz display, making every game you play feel incredibly fluid. It also supports the latest generation of wireless connectivity, with Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1 support, and has enhanced cooling over its predecessors to help maintain peak performance for longer.  Asus TUF Gaming A17  Like the Asus TUF Gaming A15, but bigger, the Asus TUF Gaming A17 is a great Windows laptop for those who want a gaming machine with as big a screen as possible. A 17-inch laptop is never as portable as its smaller cousins, but there’s nothing quite like gaming on the big screen and at 17-inches, the A17 delivers a fantastic gaming experience by backing it up with heaps of powerful hardware.  The AMD Ryzen 5800H is a fantastic mobile processor, with eight high-powered cores, and support for 16 threads thanks to simultaneous multithreading. The Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti is a capable gaming GPU that can handle any game at 1080p resolution at decent settings and frame rates. With the 17-inch screen supporting a 144Hz refresh rate, all the action looks incredibly smooth, too.  These bigger laptops are always a little heavier, and at just over 5.7 pounds, the TUF Gaming A17 is no exception, but it’s no brick either. You can carry this around all day and then sit down to game in the evening, but with its size and weight, it’s not the best for gaming on the move.   Lenovo Legion 5 15  One of the best laptops of 2021, the Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an absolute class leader at this price point. For just under $1,300 you get some extremely powerful hardware, a gorgeous high refresh-rate screen, a responsive and comfortable keyboard, and a good-looking chassis. That’s a lot for the money, making this one of the best laptop deals within the Micro Center Platinum Collection.  The awesome AMD Ryzen 5800H eight-core CPU is paired up with an Nvidia RTX 3060, giving this laptop all the power it needs for high-FPS 1080p gaming. The 16GB of fast memory means it’ll want for nothing in even the latest games, and with a terabyte of NVMe SSD storage, you’ll have all the space you need for your entire game library.  For long gaming sessions, or those who like to chat in-game, I particularly like the comfortable and responsive, backlit keyboard. It makes extensive typing a true pleasure and ensures that any keystrokes in high-speed games are quickly registered. The backlighting in this model is full RGB too, so if you want to use the Lenovo software to customize the look of your keyboard while you’re playing or when it’s just sat on your desk looking pretty, you have millions of colors to pick from.  Lenovo Legion 5 17  The bigger brother of the Legion 5 15, this model boosts the screen size by a further two inches, letting you make the absolute most of its high-powered hardware for gorgeous 1080p gaming sessions. The same AMD Ryzen 5800H and Nvidia RTX 3060 are a perfect pairing for all sorts of games and can give you the confidence to play what you want, how you want, without worrying about having to lower settings just to make it playable.  The 17-inch screen does drain the battery a little faster than its 15-inch counterpart, but it’s not much. You can still expect up to seven hours of mixed usage, though if you’re gaming for several hours at a time, it’d be a good idea to have the charger handy so you’re not interrupted. Especially if you’re running the screen at full brightness with the keyboard’s RGB enabled.  This is a heavy laptop at over six and a half pounds, too, so be sure you have a desk somewhere to set it down to play. I wouldn’t want to play with this one on my thighs. HP Omen 17 One of the contenders for the Platinum Collections’ best laptop of 2021 so far is the HP Omen 17. It combines one of the top Intel mobile CPUs, the Core i7-11800H, with an Nvidia RTX 3060 and 16GB of high-speed memory. That not only makes it great for gaming, but gives it an extremely powerful general compute performance profile, making it a super-fast Windows laptop for productivity-focused tasks, like video editing. The 17-inch screen gives you heaps of space for your timelines too – I’d want a machine like this for intense editing sessions.  Unlike many other modern laptops, the HP Omen 17 comes packing a range of port options, including Gigabit Ethernet, a Mini DisplayPort, and HDMI output – great for hooking up an external display for even more screen real estate. The real kicker is the Thunderbolt 4 port, though, which is something you’ll only find on Intel-based laptops. That means massive external device bandwidth for high-speed data transfers or running USB-C displays.  The HP Omen 17 is great for gaming and work, so it’d make a great streaming laptop – especially with its super faster eight-core CPU inside. I figure I will probably need a new power supply and maybe a new mother board. How do i do this as cheaply as possible because i wasnt actually ready for this financially. lol. Any help at all would be appreciated. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Answers TSPhillipT admin October 2020 Hello @je2000 Thank you for posting on the Micro Center Community and congratulations to your nephew!   You are likely to need a new power supply and a new motherboard however you may have difficulties finding a motherboard.  You will need to find a chipset that supports 6th Gen Intel and we do not carry one and are not in production, so you will need to use sites like ebay or Amazon to find them.   Something like a Z270 motherboard would be what I would recommend.   0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 6.7K All Categories 1K The Blog 36 What's Trending 164 How to & Technical Guides 10 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 15 3D Printers 9 Maker 15 PC Build Guides 81 Reviews & Buying Guides 27 Build Showcase 13 Contests 35 Past Contests 825 The Community 1.7K General Discussion 104 New Members 87 Consumer Tech 27 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 75 Software 2 Audio/Visual 12 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 21 Hobby Boards & Projects 23 3D Printing 49 Retro Arcade/Gaming 80 All Other Tech 1.2K Store Information and Policy 49 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 111 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 220 Graphics Cards 161 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 61 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 13 Monitors and Displays 29 Peripherals 9 All Other Parts 21 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? What size laptop are you interested in? What tasks will you have for this laptop? Does it need to be extra portable? Would you need a touch screen? Do you need a set amount of storage or RAM? The comparison between the two you list here is very similar. The Lenovo appears to have faster RAM, otherwise, they are quite the same in the specifications, as far as I can tell. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 6.7K All Categories 1K The Blog 36 What's Trending 164 How to & Technical Guides 10 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 15 3D Printers 9 Maker 15 PC Build Guides 81 Reviews & Buying Guides 27 Build Showcase 13 Contests 35 Past Contests 825 The Community 1.7K General Discussion 105 New Members 87 Consumer Tech 27 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 75 Software 2 Audio/Visual 12 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 21 Hobby Boards & Projects 23 3D Printing 49 Retro Arcade/Gaming 80 All Other Tech 1.2K Store Information and Policy 49 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 111 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 220 Graphics Cards 161 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 61 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 13 Monitors and Displays 29 Peripherals 9 All Other Parts 21 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? And whether you’ll be returning in person or doing remote learning, students, especially those in high schools and universities, need to be equipped with the right tech to make sure their learning experience is everything it needs to be. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of tech available, ranging from high-tech laptops to Air Pods. The question on almost every student’s mind right now is “What do I need for school?” We put together a list of some back-to-school tech essentials to make your back-to-school decisions just a little bit easier.  What to look for in Tech If you’re on the prowl for back-to-school tech, we’ve got a couple of tips for you that will help narrow down your range wide options to find your perfect fit:  1.    Quality Tech can be expensive. And, generally, putting more money into tech means you’re getting a more reliable product with more comprehensive features. But, if putting a lot of money towards tech makes you anxious about breaks and failures, Micro Center’s Protection Plans are there to protect you from unforeseen circumstances.  2.    Budget Tech budgets can be odd, as your budget range may be less focused on total cost and more focused on how much certain features may cost. When setting your budget, make sure to consider everything you absolutely need before settling on a price range. And keep your eyes open for sales - Micro Center offers some of the best laptop deals around, so you might find what you're looking for cheaper than you were expecting!  3.    Refurbished Products As we said, tech can be expensive. But it doesn’t always have to be. Refurbished products are a great way to get to-of-the-line technology cheaper. Micro Center offers a wide range of factory-certified refurbished products, including mice, headphones, and even Apple devices!  4.    School Requirements If you’re shopping for back-to-school tech, be sure to check with your school to make sure your tech is compliant. There’s little worse than setting up a brand-new laptop only to find out your school required a different model! If you need some tips before shopping for computers, we put together a handy guide to help you out.    Essential Back-to-School Products While every student is going to have different back-to-school needs, we do see certain requests come up time and time again: smartphones, laptops, desktops, headphones and backpacks. Understanding the features of each product will help you decide which one is best suited to your needs. Hopefully, we can help lower the scope of your options, but if you’re still not sure what you need, stop by your local Micro Center and one of our associates will be more than happy to help you make a perfect choice!   Laptops Like smartphones, laptops have become an absolute must-have in recent years. Thank you 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Answers VitorVicente ✭ October 2020 Hey! I found this while browsing the Microcenter store: https://www.microcenter.com/product/621519/lenovo-ideapad-3-17iml-173-laptop-computer---grey It's very similar in specs, just has a different processor. It's also a 17 inch, which might not be ideal if you want thin and light. There is also this one: https://www.microcenter.com/product/621349/lenovo-ideapad-5-156-laptop-computer---grey but it once again has a different processor (this time a bit worst). If you'd like to go even smaller, into the 14 inch territory, may I recommend this one: https://www.microcenter.com/product/628648/lenovo-ideapad-flex-5-14-14-2-in-1-laptop-computer---grey - it's a Ryzen powered machine, but really solid, the only slight disadvantage would be the smaller SSD, only having half the capacity.  Most everything else I see from Lenovo being light and under those specs would also see a significant price increase, but if you'd still like to take a look at them I recommend the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga. If you don't mind slipping away from Lenovo, there are a handful of Dell and HP offers that might also interest you. Might I recommend this one on the Dell side: https://www.microcenter.com/product/628440/dell-inspiron-15-3590-156-laptop-computer---black - and this one on the HP side: https://www.microcenter.com/product/630081/hp-pavilion-x360-convertible-15-dq1071cl-156-2-in-1-laptop-computer-refurbished---silver Hope this helps! Welcome to the Community.  What's the exact model of your Lenovo laptop? There's likely a function key you can use to toggle the Camera on and off, I believe it's usually F6. Look for a function with an icon that looks like a camera/webcam and then press it, then see if a light turns on next to the webcam. If not, try pressing FN+that key and check again.  If neither of those things work, or there isn't a function key correlated to the camera, try downloading the drivers directly from Lenovo's website for your model.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook woody ✭ May 2020 It is a Lenovo Yoga 730. I have tried all the function keys, privacy settings, updating the drivers ( even uninstalled them and reinstalled ) . Nothing has worked that's why I think that something inside the unit is not connected or installed. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin May 2020 Alright then. We are a Lenovo authorized service provider, so if you bring the system to our repair desk we can take a look and see about fixing it under the warranty.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook woody ✭ May 2020 Thank you but the problem is that I am on the Cape so I would need to send it in to you. What would I need to do to get this done.  ? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin May 2020 If you're not near a Micro Center store, I'd first try contacting Lenovo again to see if they could arrange for you to send it directly to them, or see if there's a Lenovo repair provider closer to you.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook woody ✭ May 2020 Thanks. Lenovo said that they are only doing work for essential personal right now and gave me your contact info as the nearest authorized warranty repair facility 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin June 2020 Could you private message me your contact information and address? I have updated drivers and still no luck. I can't get ahold of anyone at Lenovo to help of course and i am out of ideas. After spending 5 hours with Microsoft help I about to lose it. Any more ideas I can try? Or just bring it in? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSKyleH admin May 27 Hello @Angele I understand you are having issues with your bluetooth. Thank you for reaching out to our comunity, I just have a few extra questions. Have you tried connecting other devices to the computer? In the case of speakers or even headsets do they work with your phone? Lastly, I understand you tried reinstalling the drivers, does the computer still have an option to turn bluetooth on or off? This would be under the bluetooth & other devices section in settings. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Angele ✭ May 27 Hi @TSKyleH The bluetooth option is just gone. I cannot turn it on or off. My devices are just fine. When I go to connect one the computer it starts by telling me to make sure the devices are searching/visible and then changes to a... this device does not have bluetooth please make sure it is turned on but alas, no bluetooth button to be found. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSKyleH admin May 27 Thank you for the confirmation @Angele, When you tried reinstalling the drivers did you delete the software during the uninstall? Bluetooth and wireless tend to be provided by the same adapter, did you try uninstalling wireless as well or just the bluetooth option in device manager? I would recommend getting the latest wireless driver for this reason, as it tends to be both wireless and bluetooth, from the manufacture. What computer did you have? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Angele ✭ May 27 Lenovo. They use Realtek. I just did updates because I couldn't find a full download and getting a straight avenue to reach anyone at Lenovo is horrid. They want me to pay $40 to have tech access. I didn't find much info on contacting them otherwise or fixing my issue. I will continue to try more tomorrow. I'm at 6+ hours today dealing with Microsoft and Lenovo. If this makes little sense, I apologize. Its been a long day. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSMikeW admin May 27 @Angele Please right click "Start" and open "Device Manager". Expand "Bluetooth" and "Network Adapters". Screenshot what you have there. Also, what model is your Lenovo? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Angele ✭ June 2 @TSMikeW I am sorry that took me a few days. Hopefully this information helps. in the device manager screen the windows rep had me erase the bluetooth tab but this should be my Lenovo info and device manager 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTDavey admin June 2 @Angele just chiming in. Lets make sure every driver has been updated on this Lenovo, including BIOS. Use link below and just hit "Start Scan" under the Automatic Driver Update tab. Install whichever drivers Lenovo suggests. Then restart computer and try the bluetooth. If it still doesn't work, then there could be hardware problems with the bluetooth adapter. You can always get a $13 USB bluetooth adapter from Microcenter, Walmart or other electronic retailers. They work just as good as an internal bluetooth adapter. Let us know if the driver updates worked. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Angele ✭ June 2 @TSTDavey What link are you referring to? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTDavey admin June 2 @Angele wow, I apologize. I missed adding the link, sorry. Here it is. Link: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/desktops-and-all-in-ones/500-series/510a-15abr/90gu/downloads/automatic-driver-update 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSMikeW admin June 3 @Angele You won't be able to update the bluetooth driver. Looking at device manager the bluetooth device isn't being detected by the system at all. This is built into your QCA9377 WIFI Card. It's an M.2 E-Key. Few things we can try. First is a discharge. Power the system off, unplug the power, press the power button 10-15 times, and wait 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on. Check Device Manager, see if the Bluetooth category appears near the top of the list. If so, you should be good to go. Second option, and this would be more advanced. Is to power off the system, ground yourself and to reseat the WIFI card itself on the motherboard. It's near the bottom of the board and it's labeled with a white sticker. Third option if all else fails, or if the second option is too much trouble. You can get a Bluetooth USB dongle for under $20 or so that's equivalent to the Bluetooth 4.1 supported by the wireless card. You can get a 5.0 card for $29.99. https://www.microcenter.com/product/426849/asus-usb-bt400-usb-20-bluetooth-40-adapter https://www.microcenter.com/product/627039/asus-usb-bt500-bluetooth-50-usb-adapter-with-ultra-small-design,-backward-compatible-with-bluetooth-21-3x-4x 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 6.7K All Categories 1K The Blog 36 What's Trending 164 How to & Technical Guides 10 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 15 3D Printers 9 Maker 15 PC Build Guides 81 Reviews & Buying Guides 27 Build Showcase 13 Contests 35 Past Contests 825 The Community 1.7K General Discussion 105 New Members 87 Consumer Tech 27 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 75 Software 2 Audio/Visual 12 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 21 Hobby Boards & Projects 23 3D Printing 49 Retro Arcade/Gaming 80 All Other Tech 1.2K Store Information and Policy 49 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 111 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 220 Graphics Cards 161 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 61 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 13 Monitors and Displays 29 Peripherals 9 All Other Parts 21 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? After doing research I learn that Lenovo uses a different power supply and motherboard pin and I can not add a video card that requires power from PSU. IS it worth adding a low profile graphics card to the lenovo or just build a new computer? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSTonyV admin May 2020 What do you actually need the graphics card for? Low profile cards are useful as a simple option to increase the number of monitors you can use with your system, but they're not designed for anything beyond typical basic office use on a system. If you're trying to game, it would probably be better to build a new system.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Shird ✭ May 2020 maybe low profile is not the right term. A video card like the 1050 ti that doesn't require additional power 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin May 2020 Ah, I see what you mean. Something like a 1050ti would be serviceable for entry level gaming. I checked our own inventory and it appears that the gaming video cards all at least require one 6-pin PCIe power connector. We used to have some of those 1050 and 1050ti cards that could run without external power, but it appears the new 1650 cards didn't keep with that trend. Crucial website says that I can have up to 32 GB of RAM with DDR4-2666 "guaranteed compatible". The manual says that 16 GB is max. Also the manual (and the Lenovo website) only contains ram parts (as compatible) with DDR4-2133 and DDR4-2400. Should I risk going DDR4-2666 16 GB and then later getting one more 16 GB? Or should I just stick with DDR4-2400 (have not seen DDR4-2133 on the microcenter website) 8 GB x2? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TS_JosephF admin May 2020 Hello @Mishka I would stick with what Lenovo recommends in the manual. Crucial might list Maximum Memory as 32 GB but they have a disclaimer below stating "*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory". So it may not actually work with 32 GB since Lenovo lists the maximum as 16 GB. As far as the speed goes, you can purchase the 2400 or even the 2666 speed but if your memory controller can only run at 2133 then it will downclock the speed of the RAM to 2133. You are welcome to install it or you can just purchase DDR4-2133 RAM to save a little bit of money. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Mishka ✭ May 2020 Thank you for your explanation, @TS_JosephF. 1 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 6.7K All Categories 1K The Blog 36 What's Trending 164 How to & Technical Guides 10 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 15 3D Printers 9 Maker 15 PC Build Guides 81 Reviews & Buying Guides 27 Build Showcase 13 Contests 35 Past Contests 825 The Community 1.7K General Discussion 104 New Members 87 Consumer Tech 27 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 75 Software 2 Audio/Visual 12 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 21 Hobby Boards & Projects 23 3D Printing 49 Retro Arcade/Gaming 80 All Other Tech 1.2K Store Information and Policy 49 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 111 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 220 Graphics Cards 161 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 61 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 13 Monitors and Displays 29 Peripherals 9 All Other Parts 21 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? Thank you for your help! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Best Answer Ian admin September 3 Accepted Answer Greetings, for laptop recommendations, especially with specific screen requirements like this, that question would be quite hard for our Community staff to answer as we are not located in a store. I can advise you that we would not have any laptops that are set up with Linux available in-store. I would suggest to visit your local Micro Center and work with one of the knowledgeable sales people in store, they can look over the the on-display laptops with you to help find a great laptop for you. Salespeople are available in-store without an appointment any time during store hours. Gamer_Rent ✭ July 15 in Gaming Hi all: My son is going off to a boarding school in Sept and isn't allowed to bring his PC. You guys helped a ton when he was deciding on his build last year about this time, and he has really enjoyed his system, so figured I'd come back to the forum for advice on the laptop question, too. I believe his school uses google classroom, so I could do an inexpensive chromebook, but I know he'd go crazy if he's not able to play some video games with his friends back home when he has downtime. So I want to get him something that will function well for his school stuff for the next two years that he can also game on. I was looking at the Dell G15 5510 15.6" Gaming Laptop, which would seem to not really be a step down from his PC in terms of components: Intel Core i7 10th Gen 10870H 2.2GHz Processor NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6 16GB DDR4-2933 RAM 1TB Solid State Drive Microsoft Windows 10 Home Killer E2600 Network 2x2 Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201+Bluetooth 5.1 15.6" Full HD WVA Anti-Glare LED-backlit Narrow Border 165Hz Display But I'm hoping to keep at at or under $1500 all in (tax, microsoft home/student, etc). Any suggestions on other gaming laptops that have essentially the same specs but may be a little less so I can make my budget? Thanks y'all! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments Gamer_Rent ✭ July 15 Just noticed this Lenovo that has similar specs but Ryzen instead of Intel: https://www.microcenter.com/product/637182/Legion_5_15_156%22_Gaming_Laptop_Computer_-_Blue;_AMD_Ryzen_7_5800H_32GHz_Processor;_NVIDIA_GeForce_RTX_3060_6GB_GDDR6;_16GB_DDR4-3200_RAM;_1TB_Solid_St And there is a factory refurbished Lenovo Legion 5 w/intel: https://www.microcenter.com/product/632766/lenovo-legion-5-15imh05h-156-gaming-laptop-computer-factory-refurbished-dark-moss Wondering what the risks are of buying "factory refurbished".
