Community Article Lenovo T480 cpu idle temps 60-70C, gpu 50C — Micro Center Lenovo T480 cpu idle temps 60-70C, gpu 50C MD2Lyra ✭ September 8 in Technical Support Questions Like it says in the title, my lenovo laptop has been running pretty hot for the last month or two. These temps are been recorded with Speccy and that's the only application I have open when I'm "testing". I'm not sure if this is something I need to go in for and have tech support repaste (maybe? not sure if you can repaste laptop CPUs/GPUs) or blow any possible dust out of the internals. Any help is appreciated! 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Comments TSTonyV admin September 8 Have you tested with any other monitoring software? I've seen Speccy report incorrect temperatures before so I think you should run another program to be safe. I personally like to us CoreTemp Depending on how long you've had the laptop it's certainly possible it's dusty or the thermal paste has degraded and causing it to get warmer than it should.  0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. Community Article Extreme budget — Micro Center Extreme budget NotoriousCheese ✭ April 1 in Help Choosing Parts Ok so I am aware it takes high amounts of money to get a good pc. I don't have the money for mid to high quality. Is there anyway I can get a 60+ fps build for 450? Any recommendations would me great! And yes I understand 450 can't get you much, but it's all I have. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Answers TheITDad ✭✭ April 2 What games are you looking to play and get 60 fps? 1 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter NotoriousCheese ✭ April 2 I would like to get over 100, but gta, rocket league, moded minecraft, and warframe TheITDad said: What games are you looking to play and get 60 fps? 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TheITDad ✭✭ April 2 Ok so getting GTA and even maybe warframe to above 60 with that budget is tough because it's really hard to get a discrete GPU.  Saying that this first build is over your budget by 30 bucks but gets you a discrete GPU that could get you over 60 on those games except maybe GTA depending on what graphic settings you are using.  If you really need to stick to that 450 dollar budget you are probably gonna need to hit up the used market for your GPU because once you go really any below the graphics card I picked the built in graphics from the cpu will just be better.  If you really need to stick to the 450 budget just drop the gpu from this build and put in a Ryzen 5 3400g cpu which will be a more powerful cpu with built in graphics that will do you better than the 2200g by itself.  But if you can swing 30 bucks the build with a discrete GPU will work better for you https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder.aspx?load=88c7e9a2-7713-4fde-92ab-99d08f26adef 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. It's a Pre-built Powerspec G706 3700X/16/1/2070S. I play modern warfare warzone. It was fine intill yesterday and then I haven't been able to play a single match. Only other game I play is valorant and it still works fine. I have low settings on my warzone, also did a clean driver reinstall three times. I have no idea why I can't play warzone now. I'm so close to just returning this pc. Once I get into a match i'll be setting at 60-80 FPS just fine then the second I get near another player my FPS will drop to 4 then I wont be able to move. After 5 seconds of it at FPS 4 it'll flash the "go to main settings to switch to keyboard and mouse" icon, and reconnect my controller then I'll be setting at 60-80 fps again intill it happens again 10 seconds later. Some one please help me. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Comments TSMikeW admin July 7 We can certainly help you troubleshoot this. First question I have for you. Bill No, can't upgrade GPU in laptop (most of the time, check a tear down to see if it's discrete). However some laptops allow a external GPU outside of the laptop to drive the display. You can upgrade the CPU (at least in most laptops) check a tear down video to confirm. Lesson learned, never get a laptop, can't upgrade it much. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. I just recently bought a new rig and it all seems to be going fine but, my CPU temps seem to be going a bit south, my average temps go between 40c to 60c, Under load it goes from 60 to 80c, but sometimes when under load it goes to a big 90c spike for a couple seconds and comes back down very fast.  My Specs: MSI Tomahawk B550 Ryzen 5 3600 2080 Super  650 W PSU 16 GB 3200 Trident Ryzen Ram NZXT Kraken M22  NZXT H510 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Comments LandShark admin October 6 edited October 6 What's your current cooling solution? The temps you're describing are fairly standard for a CPU while idle and under load, if you are still using the stock cooler. They are within safe operating temperatures. AMD lists the max temp for the 3600 at 95°C. If you're consistently more toward 60°C while idle, and +80°C while under load, I would also be concerned. I would suggest reseating and applying new thermal paste to your cooler, or perhaps purchasing a new cooling option. I'd also suggest that you ensure your motherboard BIOS is up to date. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSMikeW admin October 6 Greetings @Gonzo What software your using to monitor your CPU temps? 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. I probably will go for 3070 or 2080s when the prices go down and invest a bit more on my processor. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSTonyV admin September 21 I definitely agree with Phil on this one. At 1080p the high end cards are way more then enough, I'd only buy something like a 3080 if you're gaming at 1440p or 4k. The Ryzen 5 3600 is definitely a great processor with some strong value but at 1080p with this kind of budget I think the i5-10600k would be the choice. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Gonzo ✭ September 21 @TSTonyV Hi!
