However, I'll get a message to our store managers for you to have them reach out about this. I was planning on hitting up Mayfield, but I don't live as close as you, I'm an hour away. Also, I haven't been in town lately so it's been tough, but searching online has been ridiculous. Clicking add to cart at 3AM for 10 minutes and failing has been tiring lol. So what you're saying is it sounds like people in Mayfield aren't that interested in the cards? Have you gotten a card from them yet? I did call Mayfield and they said it's hard to say but they get about 5-6 cards at a time and less often than we think (so less than one delivery a week), they said it's been about every 2 weeks. In my calculation that's only 2 deliveries including launch. I think I'm gonna give up looking until next year, clicking add to cart from various websites online has been a waste. GG NVidia lol. Another person messaged me saying they asked a MC employee at mayfield about status and they said they won't get any more in until February, heh. Based on your prior post you said they are forcing people to bundle. That might make sense because the employee wants the bonus. I need a PC with it so I'd go that route. I'm not 100% trusting that microcenter is telling us considering how much these cards are going for on ebay. That would be in line with one guy saying mc said come back in February, and the other saying they've had only two deliveries in a month. Yes I know what I'm insinuating, I'm not accusing, I'm just saying it's human nature and it's probably happened before in some other situation. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Felicity near Tustin ✭ October 19 I'm going to go pick up a 9700k at tustin. Found out that there was a "scan/waitlist" as well, which put me at 4 or 5. Waited until opening, to be told there were no shipments on Monday. Went back the next day at 9am and was 1st in line physically, and somewhere around that on the waitlist as well. Saw people going in for about 30 minutes and wondered what was up, went inside to see if I missed something (turned out they open an hour early on Tuesdays for people at higher risk of COVID). Asked an employee about any possible stock for the day in which he said they do it completely by waitlist now: you sign up via the waitlist and if they get any they go down the line and text you asking if you're able to come buy one: the list resets every night apparently as well. Every day since then I have signed up on the waitlist; been as high as 3rd or 4th, and seen numbers get up in the 20s. Never received a text. That board can support higher memory speeds than 3000, you simply have to enable the XMP/DOCP profile to do so and technically you're "overclocking" at that point. I would still 100% recommend DDR4-3600 if you're going with a third generation Ryzen CPU since that's the sweetspot for performance. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B550-TOMAHAWK/Specification That should be true for basically any B450/B550/X570 motherboard besides that one.  As for your build, the parts list looks solid, although if you're specifically targeting gaming you may want to look at the Intel i5-10600k at that price point. The 3700X is a great CPU but it is beat by the 10600k in gaming scenarios. Of course if you're in other situations outside that that are better at utilizing the extra two cores the 3700X has over the 10600k then the 3700X will be better. Video editing and rendering can fall into that category.  0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter FallenGremory ✭ September 9 @TSTonyV yea it won't be just for gaming but that will be what I use it for at least 9% of the time. That is pretty bad.  I mean the 3090 is really a different type of card altogether.  It may be named the same way as the consumer-focused gaming cards, but the 3090 is the replacement for the RTX Titan.  The RTX Titan was basically identical in gaming performance to the 2080ti despite being twice as expensive, because it was really a workstation card that was designed for applications that are heavily VRAM intensive. People should be treating the 3090 the same way. If you're concerned about 10GB of VRAM not being enough (and you really shouldn't, 10GB is plenty even at 4k) then you should just wait for the 20GB 3080 to come out instead and buy that. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter «1…29303132333435…49» Go Sign In or Register to comment. Community Article DVD is not Showing Up in Windows 10 — Micro Center DVD is not Showing Up in Windows 10 TSAustinM admin April 29 edited August 11 in Windows An article on how to ensure DVDs you put into your system can be read and played in a Windows 10 system 1. Run Troubleshooting through the Control Panel. Open the Control Panel. You can do this by clicking on the Type here to search, entering Control Panel, and selecting the top result.   Ensure the control panel is being viewed by Small (or large) icons and then open Troubleshooting.   Select the Configure a device option under Hardware and Sound. Follow the prompts that show on the Troubleshooter that appears.   Check BIOS to ensure the DVD drive is detected. Depending on what your machine, when you boot up your machine you will need to press a button to go into your BIOS. From there you can check your system to make sure the CD/DVD drive shows up. If it does not show up here, shut down the system and unplug it from your outlet. Then, open the side panel and check to make sure the cables are seated properly for both the power and the data. If this is an external drive, make sure the USB connection is properly seated.  2. Update chipset driver for motherboard. You can find the driver for the computer on the support page for the motherboard. If this is a pre-built system from a manufacturer, you will find it on the manufacturer’s support page. 3. Update or reinstall the driver for the CD/DVD Driver. Open device manager. You can do so by holding the Windows key and pressing X to bring up a menu at the start key. Then click on Device Manager.   Open DVD/CD-ROM drives to see the driver for your CD/DVD drive.   Right-click on the driver to and select Update driver.   On the following prompt, select Search automatically for updated driver software and let it search for results. If the driver updates, check if it works afterward.   If the issue is not resolved at this point, right-click on the device and choose to Uninstall device.   After uninstalling the driver, reboot the computer. So long as the drive is physically connected to the system as it needs to, you should see the driver back on the device manager after rebooting. 4. Reinstall drivers under the IDE/ADAPI category on the device manager. Open device manager. You can do so by holding the Windows key and pressing X to bring up a menu at the start key. Then click on Device Manager.   Open the IDE/ATAPI controllers   Right-click on the ATA Controller 0 and select Uninstall device to uninstall.   Right-click on the ATA Controller 1 and select Uninstall device to uninstall. Right-click on the Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller and select Uninstall device to uninstall. Repeat this for any additional ATA Controller drivers in this category. After uninstalling the drivers, reboot the computer. The drivers should be reinstalled upon booting.   5. Fix corrupt registry entry.   Note: It is important to be careful with registries as altering the wrong registry can cause issues with your computer. Proceed with this step with due caution. Changes to registry occur immediately, there is no prompt to save or discard changes.   Click on the Type here to search on the taskbar and search RegEdit. Select the Regedit result to open the Registry Editor.   On the navigation bar near the top, go to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} You can also navigate the subfolders on the left pane to get to the same folder. On the right pane, locate the upper filter and lower filter. Delete these two entries by selecting each one and then on the upper left corner, open the Edit and then select Delete.   After the upper and lower filters are deleted, close the Registry Editor and reboot the computer. 6. Create a registry subkey. Note: It is important to be careful with registries as altering the wrong registry can cause issues with your computer. Proceed with this step with due caution. Click on the Type here to search on the taskbar and search RegEdit. Select the Regedit result to open the Registry Editor.   On the navigation bar near the top, go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi You can also navigate the subfolders on the left pane to get to the same folder.   Right-click on the atapi folder on the left pane. On the menu that comes up, go the New and select the Key. Type Controller0 in the prompt and then press Enter.   Right-click on Controller0 and within New, select DWORD(32-bit) Value.   Type EnumDevice1 when prompted for the name of the new value. Right-click on EnumDevice1 and then click on Modify…   In the Value data box, set it to 1 and then click on OK.   Exit the Registry Editor and reboot the computer to apply changes. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. To verify does the disc eject after a few seconds by itself or does it eject after you try to open it in file explorer? If it's the former, it's likely a defective ODD. I wouldn't replace the slimline drives on the 3650. I would just replace it with an external.  If it's the latter, that it's ejecting when you open file explorer and try to open the drive, then it isn't enumerating the driver automatically. You can insert the drive and try to do this manually from Powershell with: Get-WMIObject -windowstyle hidden -Class Win32_CDROMDrive -Property * | Get-Member To open Powershell, right click on the "Start" button, it'll be one of the options in your power user menu. 5 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Answers tom ✭ April 22 Ok I'll try it again and see which one its doing and get back to you.  Thanks for the help  0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. This table is a TW 102. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Answers BubbleMax MN ✭ June 7 Sounds like the boot sector got horribly corrupted.  0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSMikeW admin June 15 It's stuck in an update loop. You'll need a hub, a windows 10 ISO, keyboard and a mouse. You can create the windows 10 ISO here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 First make sure to create 32 bit media, not 64 bit. You can change the boot order to a flash drive or you can use the UEFI shell also. Nice option to have, you could just copy the the files from an ISO onto a flash drive or hard drive and manually boot to that with the UEFI shell. Just select the drive and it's like bash. 'ls' to list folder contents. Find the efi file to boot to. I believe it's  \EFI\boot\bootx86.efi (for 32 bit) and it'll startup for you. Once you're in we need to access the command prompt. You can go Repair > Trouble shoot > Command Prompt or just press Shift + F10. First lets try to revert it with DISM: DISM /Image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions Let this run it and it'll basically cancel the update. Reboot, you'll still get a warning, but it should actually revert then boot normally. Option 2 is a manual way to do this with the pending files.  You'll need to navigate to C:\Windows\WinSXS Commands for this: C: cd Windows\WinSXS Now we're looking for a pending.xml file, there are probably two, and one will have a ridiculously long string attached to the name. So we'll use a wildcard to see both, type: dir pending* This is going to show you all files that begin with pending. You'll see two files and we just want to remove them. If it's just the two delete, again using a wildcard: del pending* Reboot after this, it should again fail the update, but it will roll out of it this time. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Leave a Comment BoldItalicStrikethroughOrdered listUnordered list Format Heading 1Heading 2 QuoteCodeSpoiler Emoji Url Image Align leftAlign centerAlign rightToggle HTML viewToggle full pageToggle lights Drop image/file Home • WinBookComment As ... admin April 20 @JADO have you attempted to manually add them by going to Configure > Slots > Add? You should be able to leave the GPU value at -1. From there, add a slot for each potential GPU connected to the system, then save. They should reappear. If that doesn't work, you may be missing the GPUs.txt file in your [email protected] Client AppData directory. If that file is missing, visit this page, select all, save it into a notepad text file named GPUs.txt and place it in the %AppData%\FAHClient directory (Windows + R to open Run prompt, type that directory in for quick access). GPUs.txt page: https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt Hopefully this works, if not, let me know. I'll try to troubleshoot more with you. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter JADO ✭ April 20 edited April 20 Thanks for the help.  I am pretty knowledgeable on this stuff and at this point I am guessing it a Windows issue....but, I have no way to know.  I have tried to add them manually but since FAH sees no GPU's the add disappears as soon as I exit and go back to the settings sheet.  I have also looked at the GPUs.txt file and it is where it is supposed to be  and again everything worked correctly for over 2 weeks.  The cards have two bios's on them. You can select them with a switch.  one was modified for crypto mining the other is stock..  I was using the stock bios and everything worked fine.  I switched to crypto bios (to see if I could improve speed) and everything still worked but it was not stable.  So, I switched back to standard bios which had been working and after the switch back Folding stopped finding the cards.  Again, they show up in device manager and it reports they are working normally.  When it stopped was when I started uninstalling and installing card drivers and FAH in different combinations but have not been able to get them to reconnect.. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter JADO ✭ April 20 Thanks for helping.  I installed 7.6.9 today and I was able to manually add the GPU's.  Problem seems to be solved for now.  Thanks again. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSMichaelB admin April 20 Interesting that it only started after swapping to and from the VBIOS using the physical toggle switch. When you nuked the GPU drivers, did you use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)? Just wanting to make sure every registry entry tied to those drivers were removed prior to reinstallation. Can you provide the name of the exact model of RX 580 you're using? I'll see if I have any lying around that I can try to replicate the issue with.  0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter JADO ✭ April 20 edited April 20 Actually, I don't think the VBIOS had anything to do with it.  I think it related to the latest FAH updates.. but again I am not sure.  I did use DDU (full discosure..I did not run it in Safe Mode) then I used Regedit and deleted all remnants of FAH I could find.  Still don't know why it would not find the cards after that  but after installing 7.6.9 today I was able to find and add them manually.  With 6 RX580s and a i5 9600K 6 core processor should I have any problems running all 6 cards?  Can I also safely use some of 6 cpu cores in addition to the GPU's?  Adding cards manually, FAH also added my Intel 630 motherboard graphics  GPU for processing.  I removed it because I figured that would just cause problems.  I guess what I am asking is with the hardware I have what do thin the optimal folding configuration for folding should be here?  Thanks  0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSMichaelB admin April 20 Glad to hear the GPU's are recognized now. As for the hardware configuration, [email protected] recommends leaving one processing core per GPU. Since your 9600k has exactly 6 cores, I wouldn't recommend folding on the CPU at all as it will be of very little gain and may be detrimental to your GPU's scores, which are weighted far more heavily in terms of value. I don't see any issue running the Intel iGPU as it simply uses 2MB of cache and some spare system memory, so it shouldn't impact your stability at all. It might not score all that well, but it shouldn't hurt anything either.  0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter JADO ✭ April 20 My thoughts exactly.  Thank you for confirming.  Appreciate the help. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter TSMichaelB admin April 20 My pleasure. Thank you for dedicating your time and system resources for a good cause. If you need anything at all, let us know. 0 · Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Sign In or Register to comment. Community Article How to reinstall Microsoft Office 2013 or newer (including Office 365) — Micro Center How to reinstall Microsoft Office 2013 or newer (including Office 365) Ian admin May 8 edited July 28 in Windows For one reason or another, you may find yourself needing to install Microsoft Office for a second (or third or fourth) time. It used to be that you had to track down your original CD, and re-enter the 25 character activation code to install again. And if you lost your code, or had used it too many times, you had to buy it again. But now Microsoft tracks your software licenses using a Microsoft live account. This newer system allows you to easily reinstall your product as many times as needed, and it automatically handles disabling older installs. To reinstall Office, just follow the directions below: 1.   Open a web browser and go to https://account.microsoft.com 2.   Sign into the Microsoft account you registered your copy of Office to. 3.   Select Services & Subscriptions at the top of the window 4.   This page shows all your registered Office products. Locate the product you want to reinstall and click the Install button. 5.   A pop-up frame will give you the option to Cancel or Install. You can also select “Other Options” if you need to download in a different language or specifically select 32- or 64-bit. 6.   A file download will begin. Depending on your browser you will have the option to Save or Run the file. If saving, run the file after the download completes. 7.   Select Yes to allow the program to make changes to your computer. 8.   The installer will download and install your copy of Office. 9.   Once the installation has finished, check that Office is signed into your account by opening any Office program. Select File at the top left, then Account at the bottom. If you see a Sign in button, click it and sign into your Microsoft account.
