We upgrade the Dell and Windows drivers and run the sound diagnostic tool on the PC. Mind you you can hear her but there is background noise.  So, its technically working but with a background noise. We try her Apple ear buds and the same problem persists. We try a bluetooth headset and the issue doesn't occur. We use a separate microphone and plug it into the microphone jack and the same problem persists.  Thinking there is something wrong with the PC we take it back to the Fairfax Microcenter who give us a replacement PC. I take it home and the same problem persists. So, I take the second machine back and upgrade to a different platform/vendor-Rog Strix. When we bring it home and plug her JBL headset, Apple earbuds and microphone into the headset and/or microphone jack on the front of the PC we run a test skyping and the same noises exists!  The same problem persists across three two new PCs one of which is a different vendor all together.  What could it be? What is causing this background noise? Why does it not happen with a bluetooth headset? Does the ASUS monitor have a microphone in it that causes interference? I am at a loss here. Has anyone heard of this issue before? Possibly a way to isolate the problem and solve it? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSTonyV admin June 2020 My guess is the reason it doesn't happen with the bluetooth headset is because it's not physically plugged in. I highly doubt your monitor has anything to do with it, but the easiest way to test that is to try using a different monitor, moving the tower, etc... Realistically, it's most likely an issue with the cable on the headset/headphones, but it's kind of hard to say for sure. This is a bit of a longshot, but have you tried using a different outlet, or power strip, or anything like that? I think that could be worth a shot, maybe there's some kind of electrical interference happening there.  I'd also double check and of the mic sensitive/gain settings in the software you're using. It could be that the microphone is just way overly sensitive and picking up noise.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook mattlenco_1971 ✭ June 2020 We just isolated the problem to the brand new generic HD web camera I bought from Amazon. We swapped out a web camera from someone in the house and there was no buzzing. The same suspect camera was placed on another machine and the buzzing happend during a Skype sessin.  I closed my Amazon accounts but I can still write a review on how bad the camera is.  I feel bad taking those two Dell machines back to Fairfax Microcenter when the issue was with the web camera. I had to upgrade from Dell spending an extra $200 so my guilt is subsiding.  Is there a way to tell the store those machines are OK? Matt 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook TSTonyV admin June 2020 When we have systems brought back in we typically test them for any hardware issues, so don't feel too bad about it. If I were in your position I likely would've done the same thing. I probably should've thought of it, but it makes sense that other peripherals could cause issues like this if it has a bad cable or something.  I'm glad you were able to get it sorted out! The wireless card is what gives your system bluetooth.  Bluetooth and WiFi almost always comes from the same adapter, as bluetooth is done over the 2.4Hz frequency.  Is your WiFi working at all?  Double check you have the antennas in.   If you have the antennas in, please try downloading the LAN Drivers for the system here; https://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/product.us.asp?Model=802.11ac Dual Band WiFi Adapter#osW1064 and then perform a power cycle. Thank you 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Answers VitorVicente ✭ October 2020 Hey! I found this while browsing the Microcenter store: https://www.microcenter.com/product/621519/lenovo-ideapad-3-17iml-173-laptop-computer---grey It's very similar in specs, just has a different processor. It's also a 17 inch, which might not be ideal if you want thin and light. There is also this one: https://www.microcenter.com/product/621349/lenovo-ideapad-5-156-laptop-computer---grey but it once again has a different processor (this time a bit worst). If you'd like to go even smaller, into the 14 inch territory, may I recommend this one: https://www.microcenter.com/product/628648/lenovo-ideapad-flex-5-14-14-2-in-1-laptop-computer---grey - it's a Ryzen powered machine, but really solid, the only slight disadvantage would be the smaller SSD, only having half the capacity.  Most everything else I see from Lenovo being light and under those specs would also see a significant price increase, but if you'd still like to take a look at them I recommend the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga. If you don't mind slipping away from Lenovo, there are a handful of Dell and HP offers that might also interest you. Might I recommend this one on the Dell side: https://www.microcenter.com/product/628440/dell-inspiron-15-3590-156-laptop-computer---black - and this one on the HP side: https://www.microcenter.com/product/630081/hp-pavilion-x360-convertible-15-dq1071cl-156-2-in-1-laptop-computer-refurbished---silver Hope this helps! I'm very new at this, so a lot of trial and error just for the two monitors, but i got it to work . The third one...I think I'm there...but not sure..so would deeply appreciate any advice. I will be using this for productivity purposes, not for gaming, as long as my spreadsheets and programs run fine, I'm good. I have an ASUS E6951_B laptop (definitely a few years old), and it has a NVIDIA GEForce 760M graphics card. I'm also using the Toshiba Dynadock station. Currently, I have one monitor connected directly to the laptop via the VGA port, and another connects to the Dynadock via the DVI port. I have an HDMI port that I think I should be able to use for a third monitor. Googling "GEFORCE 760M 3 monitors" did not produce anything that I could understand...so I'm not sure if it can support 3 monitors ( there's only two outlets on my laptop...so likely it won't). I do plan to purchase 3 new monitors (e.g. P2419H, and I plan on putting them on a mount). What do I need to set up 3 monitors given the info I provided below. Would deeply appreciate the help. Thanks! 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSMikeW admin May 2020 Couldn't find any specification regarding multiple monitors on the 760M. The desktop version does support 3 monitors. Looks like the Dynastation is rated for 2 monitors up to 2048x1152. Assuming its' the USB 3.0 version. I'd try the laptop first, but if not, you should be able to do the VGA from your laptop and DVI/HDMI from the dock. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook compNewB ✭ May 2020 Thanks TSMikeW - so looks like my existing infrastructure might work. I left a message here on Friday, but did not get an answer. I need to connect an older model Dell monitor with the three rows of prongs to my HP Elitebook which only has an HDMI and two USB ports. Do you have an adapter that works for this? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Best Answer TSMikeW admin May 2020 Accepted Answer Three rows could be DVI or VGA. VGA is three rows of five. The port is generally color coded blue. DVI is generally color coded white. There would be on one side it'll have a dash or a blade pin, possibly with four pins around that if it's DVI-I.  Either way it's going to be an HDMI to DVI or VGA adapter which we do carry. There are a lot of other options we have at or under $150, like the Dell SE2417HGX or ASUS VP247QG. Dell actually makes some very good monitors in general, and personally speaking I have an ASUS monitor that's worked well for me.  Honesstly, your best bet would be to check some reviews online or take a look at some monitors in person. We have a number of monitors on display in the store and it'd probably be easier to narrow down if you could see them.  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 6.7K All Categories 1K The Blog 32 What's Trending 164 How to & Technical Guides 10 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 15 3D Printers 9 Maker 15 PC Build Guides 81 Reviews & Buying Guides 27 Build Showcase 13 Contests 35 Past Contests 808 The Community 1.7K General Discussion 104 New Members 85 Consumer Tech 26 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 75 Software 2 Audio/Visual 12 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 21 Hobby Boards & Projects 23 3D Printing 49 Retro Arcade/Gaming 79 All Other Tech 1.2K Store Information and Policy 49 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 111 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 220 Graphics Cards 161 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 61 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 13 Monitors and Displays 28 Peripherals 9 All Other Parts 21 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? I am not very satisfied with it. The picture quality and the color is not impressive. I wanted to get this product instead : https://www.microcenter.com/product/616210/acer-nitro-vg270-sbmiipx-27-full-hd-165hz-hdmi-dp-freesync-ips-led-gaming-monitor I already have one of these at home and I should have bought this again. But my question as the title suggests do you guys allow for an exchange if I didn't keep the box ? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSTDavey admin February 23 Hello @skhan and thanks for posting on the Microcenter Community Forum. We'd prefer the monitor's box for an exchange, but if you are within 30 days from the date of purchase and there is no damage to the Dell monitor; the store will honor an exchange. Bring it back to the store. 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 6.7K All Categories 1K The Blog 32 What's Trending 164 How to & Technical Guides 10 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 15 3D Printers 9 Maker 15 PC Build Guides 81 Reviews & Buying Guides 27 Build Showcase 13 Contests 35 Past Contests 811 The Community 1.7K General Discussion 104 New Members 85 Consumer Tech 26 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 75 Software 2 Audio/Visual 12 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 21 Hobby Boards & Projects 23 3D Printing 49 Retro Arcade/Gaming 79 All Other Tech 1.2K Store Information and Policy 49 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 111 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 220 Graphics Cards 161 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 61 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 13 Monitors and Displays 28 Peripherals 9 All Other Parts 21 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration? So I replaced it with a new one, however I never received a restore disk as the operating system was preinstalled and offered no such disk. Where can I get a copy of the operating system (Windows 10 pro) to reinstall onto the new hard drive so I can get back up and running? 0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Comments TSPhillipT admin October 2020 Hello @impulsepaul You can download and install Windows 10 by using a Flashdrive on another computer and going to this link to download the Windows 10 Installer.  Once you run it, you can install it onto your Flashdrive to which you then install onto your Dell computer.   Here is a guide on how to perform that; https://community.microcenter.com/discussion/2288/how-to-perform-a-clean-install-of-windows-10  0 · Share on TwitterShare on Facebook Categories 6.7K All Categories 1K The Blog 32 What's Trending 164 How to & Technical Guides 10 Computer Hardware 119 Software 3 Home Office 6 Networking Audio/Visual 2 Home Automation 15 3D Printers 9 Maker 15 PC Build Guides 81 Reviews & Buying Guides 27 Build Showcase 13 Contests 35 Past Contests 811 The Community 1.7K General Discussion 104 New Members 85 Consumer Tech 26 Prebuilt PCs and Laptops 75 Software 2 Audio/Visual 12 Networking & Security 1 Home Automation 2 Digital Photography 3 Content Creators 21 Hobby Boards & Projects 23 3D Printing 49 Retro Arcade/Gaming 79 All Other Tech 1.2K Store Information and Policy 49 Off Topic 5 Community Ideas & Feedback 111 Your Completed Builds 2.6K Build-Your-Own PC 1.7K Help Choosing Parts 220 Graphics Cards 161 CPUs, Memory, and Motherboards 61 Cases and Power Supplies 19 Air and Liquid Cooling 13 Monitors and Displays 28 Peripherals 9 All Other Parts 21 Featured Categories We love seeing what our customers build Submit photos and a description of your PC to our build showcase Submit Now Looking for a little inspiration?
