Didn't want to be stuck on 1080p for another decade plus. So I built this system just because it's time for a new system to last me for another decade. From transcoding and streamiong video's to random game sessions of Street Fighter and COD. This is my do it all machine that should hopefully last me another 10+ years.

This is my pc that i built in the shortage, i wish i could have a better graphics but its the best i could do with and isnt that bad. This pc cost me around 1000 dollars, it was something i have been saving money up for around 1 year and it is a relief, and relaxant that i have finally completed it [still needs upgrades]. if i would win the 250 dollars i would buy myself a AIO so i can cool my CPU i would also upgrade to 32 gb of ram and maybe even vertically mount my GPU. i hope once the shortage i can upgrade to a 20 series or maybe even a 30 series graphics card. i could not add my m.2 ssd because there were no options but it is a samsung 980 ssd 500 gb

I got into PC gaming right as PUBG launched in alpha and I wanted to learn more on getting a better system. I stumbled across Kyle & Jay and instantly got hooked! After graduating in 2020 and getting a job I got to finally save up towards my first build. I am proud to say that in January of this year I finally built my first pc! Version 1.0 had all the same specs except for GPU & Case. I originally had a EVGA 1070ti and a NZXT H510 but later upgraded to a Asus Rog Strix 3070 and H710 case, so this is version 2.0 that I am providing pictures. I am so happy with this setup and I cannot wait to build my next one, thanks Kyle for the inspiration!

It has the look of a gaming build, the productivity of a...productivity build, and the general purpose of anything that comes my way. In terms of gaming, I can run Valorant, CSGO, and Rocket League at 240+ fps on max settings (1080p). Higher demanding games such as the latest COD(s) and GTAV run similarly but only around 100fps. Streaming at 1080p 60 fps is no match for this build. In terms of productivity, I use it for my business, school, and other projects such as online communities. For all of these uses, I can not tell you how many times the secondary vertical monitor has come in the “clutch”. When I’m watching a YouTube video, I’m scrolling Twitter, when I’m writing an essay, I’m conducting research, when I’m accounting for sales, I’m calculating and obtaining the information I need. I could not imagine having only a single monitor. It’s truly amazing.

I went to Microcenter to make an AMD 3400G build since I wanted a budget build and no GPUs were in stock previously. Then the unthinkable happened... A wild 1650 appeard on the shelf staring at me. I had to grab and change up my budget build a little bit. All in all I was able to keep it all under $1000 (considering I already had a case and a Seagate 2TB 7200RPM HDD). The picture of the rig is just built and went through bios. Cable management was okay but I think i can pretty it up just a little bit but overall it works as intended.

PC 2 I made for my spouse to work on and also play pc games with me. Most of the games I play are found on Steam, Blizzard, Epic Games, LoL, Valorant, etc. I'm a OIF/OEF Vet myself, my teenage kids wanted to get into PC gaming (they're "upgrading" from consoles/Fortnite) and I come from an automotive repair background so putting together a PC is trivial in comparison to an engine or fine tuning suspension for an auto cross track. Anywho, future upgrades to include the new 6800 XT or some 3080's were available but I'll deal with having 5700 XT's for now as a place holder. Almost returned both these NZXT cases (still within 30day window) and buy 2 new Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini cases + 12*LL120 case fans but too lazy to take apart both PC components JUST to have the NEW case.

Last October, in the midst of exam week, I spilt coffee on my gaming laptop. My budget was tight ($800ish) but my exam schedule even tighter, thus I had to act quick. I watched all the possible video tutorials on “how to build a PC” and researched the best “bang for buck” hardware in the time span of one weekend¬. I was anxious yet zealous at the same time. I went ahead and purchased all the parts from Microcenter, drove home with the slowest speed I’ve ever driven in my life, rolled up my sleeves, and my journey began. The whole process took me 8 stressful hours, during which I was constantly re-watching videos and checking if everything fit as it should. I was so jittery I even dropped my CPU but thankfully the Internet taught me I could bend the pins back with a card. Phewww. I was also able to reuse my HDD and the m.2 NVMe SSD from my dead laptop which was a big victory considering my budget. I couldn’t stop admiring my build for weeks and I have slowly but surely been upgrading parts ever since. I created a custom logo for myself and purchased a custom GPU bracket to make my design pop. I am a mechanical engineering student currently and I use my PC for AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, and to learn programming languages on the side. So far, I’m proficient in HTML, CSS, Javascript and beginner in JAVA, C++ and Python. In my free time, I enjoy playing Rocket League, PUBG, Among Us, Fall Guys, and the classic- FIFA. I also love listening to music and that is why I recently purchased the Hifiman HE4xx. Looking to buy an AMP and a DAC soon (another rabbit hole I am entering). I’m a very visually oriented person and love being able to match my peripherals and pc with RGB. Since I am not a fan of rainbow effects, I have synced all my devices to be split in half - one side light blue and the other dark blue. With the $500 gift card I am planning to majorly upgrade my system. I want to go from a Ryzen 2600x to a 5700x and add 16gb more RAM, so that I can create more complex models in SOLIDWORKS without hiccups. At the same time, I want to upgrade my GPU to a RTX3060 or 2070Super, which will be more than enough for 144Hz 1080p (hopefully for the horribly optimized PUBG too).

Recently upgraded my potato of a computer with some (much-needed) new parts from Micro Center. This rig is mainly used for games, typically Halo Reach, Minecraft, Far Cry 5, and Mirror's Edge Catalyst. It's also being used as a workstation since all of my college courses are online due to COVID-19. I'm also a Valve Index user, and my RTX 3070 FE is more than capable of pushing the frames for VR titles.

When I was building my first computer I wanted something cheap sleek and could play games decently I wanted something that wouldn't stand out too much and it to blend into my minimalistic room and to show off my favorite color blue and I sort of achieve that with this computer. When I first got this computer I was excited to play My favorite game war thunder and rocket league plus vr games, but not now I'm working on video editing and I'm hoping one day I could upgrade my computer's ram, gpu and maybe cpu, with all of those upgrades it could help improve my gaming and editing, so that'swhy I'm here I'm sure I'm not going to win but might as well try and I hope you guys enjoy my PC. Over the years I have replaced video cards, RAM, hard drives individually but I've never built the whole computer from start to finish. The last time I purchased or even upgraded a computer was at least 8 years ago. A lot changed but many of the basics still remain true. Before buying all of the parts I began watching videos on youtube to research, parts, trends and favored brands. I watched guys like JaysTwoCents to ground myself in the do's and don'ts of building as well as what to do once the computer is built. For three months watched video after video and then began planning my purchase. I've always been a fan of AMD. Even when their trustworthiness wasn't as quantifiable as it is now I would buy their products and never regretted it. My AMD focused build has been great and I'm excited to show off my first full build. I wanted a build which would take my gaming experience up a notch or two while providing an better overall pc experience during general usage. I'm very happy with its performance and built it with the ability to upgrade this build in the future rather than rebuilding from the ground up. I could upgrade the CPU, GPU or even dabble in some lite water cooling. Currently I play a lot of Pathfinder:Kingmaker and Stellaris when I'm in a Grand Strategy mood. In hindsight, I am something of a minimalist, I didn't feel the need for lots of RGB (can get a bit gaudy) but after seeing my GPU light up along with the lighting on my motherboard... I might have considered playing with the lighting a bit more. Or gone for more more power in the GPU with the 5700XT. Did you hear that? Sounded like Tim Allen growling in far off distance. lol

The purpose on why I built this PC/Setup, was because I needed something to use for school especially because of the virus that going on in the air. I also built it so that I could just have my own space in the house that I could relax in. Games I usually play are, Rainbow Six Siege, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Fall Guys, and Counter Strike. I can usually run two things at once with the help of the two Asus Monitors that I use. I usually have discord on monitor 1 and my game running on monitor 2. This setup is also great for watching things like Netflix or YouTube. I have flags that separate down the part of the basement where I have my so called man cave. Not to mention I have to have a 50 foot Ethernet cord that runs from the computer to a storage room that's also in the basement, and from there it runs up through the ceiling directing into the internet router of the house. I love detail and that's why i have so many things on my walls surrounding the setup just so it does not look so empty. Using things like flags, picture frames, basketball jerseys, scarves, hand drawn Mario, and my favorite, a diamond sword.

My son, Chuy, was an avid PS4 fortnite player until I proved him wrong that PC's are way better at gaming. We made a bet that if I built a "Gaming PC Rig" it would beat his PS4 loading times and have a higher resolution (1440p of course). Sure enough he's addicted to his new PC while the PS4 is now collecting dust. This was our first computer build together and could not find a better excuse than to drive to our closest Micro Center (2 hours away) to buy part by part. We have put a lot of work into it and cannot wait to upgrade to a 3080. PS5 my a**.

Wanted to put something together that could perform everyday tasks, but also play games and enjoy it's performance playing the likes of COD: Warzone, Valorant, Hyper Scape, Grounded, to name a few titles. This was a test doing a little custom painting on the NZXT H510 case which had the Red band but painted that white, taped it off and then sprayed out some black. From there taped off what needed to be and the entire inside of the case was painted white and came out looking nice for a really good Black/White contrast. I guess for the time being it's a work in progress that'll be ongoing. I'll be upgrading to a full ATX Case which will be white, as well as looking forward to picking up a Founders 3080 when they release to throw inside
