  This build was meant to extract the most performance per dollar while being used exclusively for 4K gaming at 60 Hz+. It was... This build was meant to extract the most performance per dollar while being used exclusively for 4K gaming at 60 Hz+. It was meant to replace my 8700K + 1080 Ti build which served me well but was starting to get long in the tooth after 5+ years and could no longer viably do 4K60 on new AAA titles. I focused on modernizing the CPU + GPU, which is why you'll see some older parts for the other components. What really kickstarted this build was the awesome promotion Micro Center had for the 12700K + Asus Z690 motherboard @ $350 in December 2022. Then, through some clever maneuvering of AmEx credit card promotions, I was able to get my 4070 Ti for <$500. The rest of the parts were reused from my old system, so all in, I spent <$850 to bring my system to solid 2023 specs.

I managed to fit (2) Corsair XR7 Rads in here with push/pull configurations. Overclocked the i9 13900k to 6.1 ghz on 6 cores and 5.6 on 2. Running 1.4v Vcore, medium LLC. Temps in cinebench get to about 80c full load. Oc'd the DDR5 6000 Gskill memory to 28, 36 36, 80 6133 at 1.46v. (Tested stable in memtest pro) Build was closer to $6000 really when all was said and done.lol

I mainly play Overwatch 2 and Destiny 2 at this point.

In the future I would like to get a mini tower case and 32 gb of ram. Not all the parts were available in the Micro center parts options. Cooler is a Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B, main drive is a Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SN550 NVMe ssd, also has a Hitachi 500gb hdd and SK Hynix 500gb ssd, case is Thermaltake not sure the model was given to me by a friend.

Will definitely look to update the processor next as it is about 5 years old now. At the moment, its mainly used for first person shooters and single player games with high settings. During these games, the processor is starting to show its age.
