I recently started a YouTube channel related to PC tech and finally realized I needed to upgrade my GPU (had a 6900xt) to have more consistency and performance within Davinci Resolve. Also, the grey screen crash that AMD has when using multiple monitor setups was infuriating and I had enough. The high power draw in multiple monitor setups as well as high temps (over 90 hotspot in demanding games) made me go Green as well. For gaming, I do dabble around in AAA titles, but I’m a huge Total War fan (almost 2k hours across Warhammer games) so I do need a good gpu. Why the 4080 instead of the 4090? At the end of the day, it’s a minimum 400 dollars cheaper. I game at 1440p and the increase performance for a 4090 to a 4080 is not worth the price to performance difference. Also I wanted an asus tuf card as it’s the most aesthetically pleasing to me, as well as staying within the Asus ecosystem. The insane power efficiency of the 4080 is great too. Most personally though, I just personally don’t like being on the bleeding edge of tech. It’s a money trap and you can never truly be “top end” for long. Probably why I’m satisfied with Amd gpus for so long.$4,082.93 -

I'd say the only thing holding it back is the gpu but for a compact build it's plenty powerful! I would go with a different gpu unless your fine with it being oversized for the case (still max temps are 69 C) I play multiversus, Sons of the Forest, rocket league, Call of Duty warzone 2.0(not much), and Fall guys on this rig now a bit. they all play perfectly except the forest (early access[solid 60ish with stutters]) I would recommend maybe a rx 6700 or 6800 but at least that gives me a upgrade path!$1,671.90 -

They're software for ARGB is so ridiculously terrible that it's comical that they're even in business. First, the software would reinstall an update everytime I opened it (found out this was a common bug, bypassed by "run as administrator"). Then, It wouldn't recognize more than 1 RGB controller (Idk if this is even possible for any software) but I would expect it should considering the amount of fans/components that can go into these rigs nowadays. Then, when I found a configuration to get all my RGB fans on one controller, the software wouldn't even download from their main website. Error code said there was a virus in the download. I ended up daisychaining everything to my mobo ARGB header and control it all through asrock polychrome for now. I'm seriously considering taking all coolermaster parts out and replacing them with a capable RGB software brand. I really wish there was a plain white 6800XT (not that anime one), that's the only thing missing here. Although, I'm planning on upgrading gpu in the future anyway so I'll get a white one then. Overall it was a really fun experience. Some of the pricing on my list isn't accurate since I got some parts from Amazon. I'll list it accurately below. I have been looking to build my first pc for some time now, once I found out about the upcoming release of AM5 I figured I would wait until there was enough info on this new platform. Fast forward to the last few weeks I found the AM5 build combos on MicroCenter's website, and couldn't believe the savings! So I finally decided to pull the trigger and drive out to St. Davids PA location to finally purchase everything I needed to finally build my first ever PC.. I wanted a platform that I could upgrade over time but get a good base to help future proof what I could. I plan to do a custom hard line liquid cooled setup in the near future but for now just went with an air cooler. I play alot of Destiny 2, day trade in the crypto space, play web3 games and collect NFT's, as well as interested in taking my pencil drawn art and try out the digital age programs with a pen tablet. I believe this build is solid and will offer a nice starting point, the only thing I wish I would have just went with the 4080 strix card like I planned but backed out last minute in an attempt to save a couple bucks and i would have needed a bigger psu. With that said I can always upgrade down the road. Really enjoyed the knowledgeable staff and the one employee Max went above and beyond for me, i planned to purchase Windows 11 on usb but they were out of stock only had the CD so instead of trying to figure out how to make my own media drive which I don't have a laptop or another computer so Max said he didn't want me leaving without everything I needed so he gave me the CD and then had me buy a small USB drive during my checkout of my entire build, then had the tech team download the windows 11 media creation onto the USB for me! By the time I took everything out to my truck and loaded all my parts in and walked back into the store Max had the USB ready and handed it to me. MicroCenter gained a forever customer from me, I will never shop anywhere else not to mention the savings with the build combo (CPU, MOBO, 32GB RAM.) Super Hype, purchased everything wednesday (3-15-2023) and spent the day building and up and running the very next day no issues whatsoever!! Only thing left is to get cable management taken care of lol.$2,085.86 -

It's getting very outdated for games currently out in the market. I can barely game at low to mid settings. I had enough, so I decided to upgrade. For this new PC, I decided to try out AMD GPU. I just happen to see RX 7900 XTX on sale, so I got it. I have to say AMD GPU is pretty cost effective. It can handle all games I want without any issue. NVIDIA you better watch out. Anyway. I am very happy with this new build.$2,195.95 -

I finally made the decision to build a new system, replacing my i7-920 + GTX1060 6GB that was first built in 2009 and upgraded over the years. Back then it was just for photo editing, but I started gaming on it around 2019. I've been trying to decide on an all black or all white system and decided on all white. But that meant I had to modify some of the parts I had decided to use. I shared some pics of those mods during the process as well. Really enjoying playing games like Division 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Horizon Zero Dawn and Fortnite. I can turn up graphics quality and still get great frame rates.$2,210.84 -
