It is an excellent form of escapism from my everyday life. One mistake I did was paying attention to the LGA1200 screws for my heat sink, as when the time came to attach the fan, I had already secured everything down. Also, my cable management was pretty lackluster but I think it is functional.$1,278.83 -

I wanted to build something that I could race, game, run Plex server, and watch 4K movies on with true HDR. All-in-one, and one-for-all; not separate devices! I built it and the gaming part was great, but the 4k Blu-ray part was only so-so : ( And then I moved on to a 3080 12GB ITX build and a second-hand XBox One S, because two purpose built things are always better than an all-in-one thing! Learn from my learning experience : ) Some of the part choices were forced, because the last CPU that supports Blu-ray disc playback is the Intel 10th Gen. I would have loved to go for an 11400 at the time (12th gen wasn't out yet, though I would have gotten the 12600K had I known a used XBox was such a better BD player), but a 10700K was my choice. Fitting it into the Silverstone Grandia 09 case was a challenge, especially for CPU cooling. I wanted something that could cool better than a low-profile Noctua, so I shoved a 120mm Arctic Freezer radiator in there. Also a learning experience; 120mm rads are not all that much better than air cooling -_- And although I did not need to, one foresight was to get an EVGA SFX-size power supply, as that made fitting power cables near the radiator MUCH easier.$1,560.89 -

I play FPS games like CSGO and Warzone alongside RPG games like Far Cry, Witcher, and others. In the future, I plan to upgrade my GPU to a 3070 or even 3080 if the opportunity presents itself. That's probably the thing I would've done differently in hindsight. I had an opportunity to buy a 3070 at Microcenter and I passed it up because I thought I didn't need the upgrade but now I wish I hadn't. The PC handles everything I throw at it but just the idea of higher framerate without any worries about the video settings is appealing. I also realize that its about time I cleaned this PC out cause it's looking mighty dusty while taking these pictures.$1,725.93 -

I built this rig in 2019 with a 2070 super, (which I replaced with a 3060ti because I wanted to but the 2070 super in another build). Was built only a few months before 2020, so I was very lucky there. I use this rig for gaming (Halo, Minecraft occasionally, Rust, and other random Game Pass games) and I also use it for video editing. In hindsight I would have focused less on the rgb and more on functionality, but nonetheless I am happy with it.$2,079.93
