I built this rig for the primary purpose of 4K gaming, VR gaming, and learning overclocking. I built my first computer in 2007 in high school and since have dreamed of building another over the years. Being in school and while working my way up left me barely enough time to sleep and no money to eat. I now finally have the ability to work from home and I wanted to celebrate with a gaming pc. My brothers and best friends are big into gaming and I can finally join them! In process of building this pc I helped both of my brothers and two of my friends build their gaming pc, all with parts from microcenter at St. David’s! We can finally game together, these computers have brought us all together enduring the crazy year. About the build: Since I am a old counsel gamer I wanted my rig to be in my living room. So I paired the system with a 120hz 75” Samsung 4K 8 series tv and a bowers and Wilkins panaorama 2 sound bar. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5600x GPU: Strix 3090 OC RAM: trident z neo 32gb 3600cl16 Storage: 1tb xpg pcie 4.0 nvme, seagate 3tb hdd PSU: Corsair AX1200 MOBO: Asus TUF x570 plus WiFi Cooling: NZXT x73 Kraken push/pull configuration Case: NZXT H710i black, custom silver cable cover

The exact reasoning behind this build is because of the hardline builds I see in Microcenter on display. I've always loved the look of a hardline water-cooled system and I decided it's now or never and to overcome my fear of messing up a project like this.

It was the last piece missing from my man cave. I wanted a clean build but powerful at the same time. I set the build up with dual 1440p ultrawide 100hz viewsonic monitors and an extra long hdmi to my 75” Samsung tv that is connected to my surround system via arc to the marantz receiver. This setup allows me to game at my desk or kick back on the couch with a controller. I also got a oculus quest with oculus link to play beat saber and Half Life Alyx!! I chose a EVGA 2080ti FTW3 ultra Oc to power all the monitors and TVs. I have made so many trips to microcenter during the building process I have become a regular and familiar with most of the associates at the St David’s location, btw they all rock! The complete specs are below: CPU: Ryzen 3600x Cooler: wraith prism GPU: evga 2080ti ftw3 ultra Oc RAM: trident z neo 3600 cl 16, 32gb Storage: nvme pcie 4.0 1tb, nvme pcie 3.0 1tb, seagate hdd 3tb 7200 Case: NZXT h710i VR: oculus quest connected via oculus link Monitors: 2x Viewsonic xg350r-c 1440p ultrawide, Samsung 75” 4K 7series Sound system: marantz 6008 receiver, dual mono block amps for front towers. Polk audio ls90 speakers with ls70 surrounds

As streamer with a new new studio I wanted to be able to have a kickin' rig for guests to use that was also visible as part of my set. Enter: The Lamp; cosmetics were my focus with an eye for the practical. The idea was that this system would also be a slot-in replacement for my main rig should it ever give me trouble. All I'd have to do is throw in a higher tier Ryzen CPU, like a 3950x and my streaming game and content game would be back where it needs to be! Forgot to add the Strimer RGB cable extensions to the list but they are AMAZING and really tie the whole thing together! A MUST for anyone who likes pretty things and they are incredibly high quality to boot!

I had an older desktop that ran an i5 and the GTX1060 with a standard monitor. With this build, I wanted to upgrade more on the internal parts as well as my monitor to give myself a great computer that would run everything I needed. However, I did not upgrade the CPU to a high-end processor or the video card as I built it around a budget as well as what would satisfy my needs. However, my upgrade itch did cause me to expand from one regular monitor to three 27” MSI curved gaming monitors. In addition, since it was a gaming machine, I wanted to add some flair with RGB, so I did incorporate that into the build. Currently, I am using it to play World of Warcraft, Skyrim, PUBG and Star Citizen (Beta). So far, this machine has run everything I have thrown at it and has met every expectation I wanted.

This was my first custom rig, built originally for light gaming, but morphed into a much more complex and powerful build (and more expensive) that I originally planned. I may have sacrificed a bit in performance for aesthetic, as water cooling and high-end RGB components are not cheap. I currently play games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassins Creed: Odyssey, Monster Hunter: World, the Dishonored franchise, GTAV, and plan on getting Cyberpunk 2077 when it releases. I am in the process of upgrading my GPU from the 980ti to a RTX 2070 Super, and recently upgraded my monitors from a 24" LG 1080p 70Hz and Asus 27" 2k 60Hz to dual LG Ultragear 27" 144hz 1440p monitors. Sadly, with the GPU upgrade, I will be converting from water cooling to all air cooling, with plans to add an AIO CPU cooler down the road.

For this build I was focused on fast, quiet, and all SSD. (I don't OC. I'm more concerned with longevity.) I usually put a cap on how much I will spend but this time I wanted to load up with as much M.2 as I could get. (Just the samples for my DAW run over 3TB.)

Sooo the current market is rough right now so I bought everything and anything whether I needed it or not then returned what I don't use or need. However, it's been 10yrs since my last build Ryzen is all new to me and when I initially walked in to purchase parts I went in with a casual head of "ladadada building a new PC what to get what to get" not knowing it's the 5600x release and everyone is buying everything sooo I went into panic mode of "what do I get uhh excuse me sir. u got any recommendations on what to go for? Or Soo what u grabbing today? Or "wow man today is crazy what build u building?" Obviously to not sound like a noob and I kind of went off that. However, now that I've built, seen everything, and we'll informed here are the things I'd do differently. Ryzen 7 5800x EVGA 3080 360 cappelix 5000D Airflow or lian li lo xl QL FANS Corsair rgb ram Don't get me wrong I'm more than satisfied with my build 1000% speaking if I could go back in time then this is more the route I'd go.

When I was in school for LAN WAN Administration we were given an assignment to build a PC on paper for a customer so I did. The teacher was impressed with my build it was basically a gaming PC. The class was puzzled and asked me why did I build a gaming PC with such high specs I simply told them because I want the customer to be able to do anything with this PC. At that time I only had experience with pre builds I knew I was destined to build my own at that point so I did and hear it is.

While I've made quite a few changes, this is technically the first PC I've ever built (depending on how you look at it), and definitely my first go at custom water cooling. I started putting her together around December 2020, and have been gradually acquiring and swapping out parts. Iteration 1 had no WC, was in the original Meshify C, a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Black, and a GTX 1060 I borrowed from my old Alienware. Since then, I've been lucky enough to get my hands on a 3080, and threw together a custom loop that I'm very proud of given the cramped nature of the case it's in. Unfortunately, the RGB strip in the GPU water block has died on me, so I may be missing a few FPS, as well as the aesthetic I was going for. The games I play most on here are Splitgate and Immortals Fenyx Rising, and Halo Infinite once that comes out. I plan to update the paint on the front panel to be a bit more elaborate soon, similar to what Linus did for his Intel Gamer Days build, and I may paint the MoBo and RAM heatsinks soon as well.

I custom made the desk with ikea accessories to fit what I was looking for and added a slot beneath to hold my macbooks and accessories. The angled speakers are being held by pipe fittings and are connected to each computer via the built in mixer. Also, I upgraded to a Lian Li Mesh 2 case to allow the proper airflow to the 3080FE. I mostly use the pc to play squadrons VR using the oculus quest 2 and my son streams fortnite on his gamers facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/chuysgaming I use a mac mostly for music production with a thunderbolt dock to help connect all my peripherals. There's an outdoor TPlink access point (see picture through window) to give wifi access to the grill tv and cameras surrounding the house. Both monitors are hooked as a 2nd input to either the mac or pc to allow the extended desktop on whichever application I'm using. The one of the left is a 4k LG (mostly for the macbook) and the right monitor is an Asus VG27AQ running at 1440p 165hz. I'm always looking for better ways to upgrade the whole setup including the streaming parts of it. The portable green screen from elgato is also pictured on the corner. It's so easy to put away after each use. Most of these parts were found at my local Micro Center (St. Louis Park in Minnesota) which is 2 hours from where I live but well worth the drive as other retailers haven't had them in stock for months. The only thing I'm missing is a good comfortable gaming chair. Thank you Micro Center for looking out for us customers and I hope you guys like it.

This is my general purpose computer, for gaming it is mainly FPS and sports games. Primarily Madden, COD for those styles in addition to Civ VI, Rome II and other games in that style. In addition its used for my school work and overall day to day computing needs. I do need to add some RGB strips to the bottom of the case to illuminate the after market PSU shroud I got from ColdZero. I also put in CableMod cables to match the coloring of the build. As an alumni of Ohio State University I did make the Ram into a crude block O with the RGB, may not keep it that way but was fun to do.

My son, Chuy, was an avid PS4 fortnite player until I proved him wrong that PC's are way better at gaming. We made a bet that if I built a "Gaming PC Rig" it would beat his PS4 loading times and have a higher resolution (1440p of course). Sure enough he's addicted to his new PC while the PS4 is now collecting dust. This was our first computer build together and could not find a better excuse than to drive to our closest Micro Center (2 hours away) to buy part by part. We have put a lot of work into it and cannot wait to upgrade to a 3080. PS5 my a**.

I originally had a rig that I built over 7 years ago and felt it was about time to upgrade, but this time, I wanted something that was a little more eye catching and clean. It use to be mainly for gaming but as time went on and my kids have grown up, I’ve moved onto building them their own rigs and have had less time to enjoy my own, but had to have the best looking one, as I am dada. I managed to find most of the parts for this build during peak of the pandemic, so I feel it is really special to me to have finished it during that time, but I am still on the hunt to find myself a Vision card to complete the look I originally wanted.
