Complete Desc- (Purpose, Mistakes, Progress and Results) This build is based on a hp pavilion 590 office pc i got back in 2018 for cheap. As my first system, I preferred a prebuilt pc instead of a DIY because I did not had enough knowledge about pc building or in tech at the time. My goal with this pc was to upgrade it down the line for it to play games like racing sims, go casually in shooters and do some other slower paced games. I also planned to do some light productivity, aswell for work. But since I had a tight budget, I did my best with what i had which was just enough for a good used starter gpu and a few needed add-ons and adapters to make this all work as I later found out the prebuilt not being compatible with the parts in many ways. The results of doing all of this were questionable but surprisingly the pc worked and it did what I mostly wanted to do with the only major issue being how loose and flimsy everything was. Months later, I only did an upgrade to the storage with an Optane module to speed up the slow hdd storage. However, I wanted to make a big improvement on my setup as to be honest, this whole thing was a mess. So I started to learn more about diy and technical stuff of pcs that I did not explored before to come up with a more ideal build. When I got another good amount of budget earned, I did my most significant change and upgrade after a year later (on 2020) where I revamped everything from scratch to how it is shown in pictures. The previous motherboard, case and other unnecessary things were removed but the reusable items such as the processor, ram, hdd, optane, psu (bought as add-on initially) and gpu were kept. Rebuilding the pc with the proper resources and tools could not been easier, miles better than adjusting and making stuff work on my previous prebuilt setup. Although it still has some mis-perfections, I consider this an accomplishment and all the stuff I intended to do with my pc originally just work better overall now. I guess I should have chosen to do and learn diy in the first place lol. I put a picture of the original “build” to show where I started with this.$1,110.99 -

A nice and solid office machine that will have serious staying power and hold up for years. A productivity monster that will outmatch anything else in the office in reliability. This build in particular can handle intensive amounts of production work, with a powerful chip backed by tons of RAM. It'll be fantastic for CAD and spreadsheet work, capable of outputting to multiple monitors and displays. With a simple GPU upgrade later on, this build can always pivot towards becoming a hardcore gaming rig, and thus this build also has potential for the future. This is a PC build for my friend, who wanted to game and avoid spending too much money. The objective was to keep it under $700 while still having decent gaming performance, and I think we achieved that. A nicer GPU would've been great, but an RX 6600 is a significant jump in price that would make us go over the budget, so we didn't go for it. However, this PC has great upgrade potential, and once he saves up enough money, he could swap the CPU for an i5 or i7, and swap to a better GPU as well.$560.92 -

This is primarily a working computer (for personal business) however also for some gaming on the side. I used the same case I had before from a previous build 8 years ago, as well as the same old PSU (400W) and for the GPU, I used a GTX 1050 that I purchased about 5 years ago. So all in all, it was about $430 (with tax) for a computer that now is much faster and more stable, especially for the things I use it for now. (I have a better laptop for gaming). Without the RAM or with cheaper RAM it'd be even less of course. Note, if you buy the same processor, a separate GPU will be required as this CPU doesn't have it's own graphics. Note, the motherboard is indeed Windows 11 compatible but you need to turn on the TPM in the BIOS (it's off by default). It's pretty easy to do though. Asus shows you how on the support website. You'll note from the picture(s) that I also have an old wifi adapter in there. Also from the previous 8 year old build (but for faster DL speeds probably want a newer one of those). The mobo comes with a nice suite of software but you don't have to install it of course. There's one called AI Suite 3 that gives some fan/cpu info, as well as other things, also installs a quick interface on the desktop (that can be exited out of if desired) to quickly control fan speed. Also there's an "Armory Crate" from ASUS that does pretty much the same thing(s) so I'm not sure why have both. (?). The screenshot is from the Armory Crate where you can fine tune to your heart's desire. Also update drivers etc as desired (I just let Windows do most of that I'm not into overclocking and such especially for a build like this). Anyway, still kind of neat to check on occasion to make sure fans running well etc. My goal was to build a cheap computer that would perform well enough for the next 2-5 years. I think I've achieved this goal.$404.96
