I took the motherboard, cpu, ram, cooler, and hard drive from an existing build and installed them all in a new case fitted with a new psu. Now that it's completed, I wish I would have purchased a case that was for micro-atx sized motherboards only. The atx sized case works perfectly fine but it seems like it wastes a few inches of space where it could be more compact.

But at the same time, I don't play heavy, graphical intensive games. However one thing that was important was an nvidia graphics card that would support gsync to my monitor. The 5700+3050 runs everything I've tried at smooth framerates. I can always add a more expensive card later if I decide I need to do that.

After doing some research and consulting with more experienced builders, I carefully selected each component for my PC. I chose a powerful CPU and GPU (what I was able to get at the time) to ensure smooth gameplay, as well as plenty of RAM to handle the most demanding games. The end result is a stunning and powerful gaming PC that is capable of running even the most demanding games, such as Fortnite, at high settings and high frame rates.   this was a long work in progress but I had a lot of fun learning how to build. i made some mistakes along the way but at... this was a long work in progress but I had a lot of fun learning how to build. i made some mistakes along the way but at least I can say they were lessons learned. probably the biggest thing I regret is buying the 5600G cpu. at the time I thought it was the same performance as the 5600 but with added graphics. this is not the case! if someone plans to use a graphics card then you should focus on either the 5600 or 5600x as they are faster.
